i sail only celebrity and ncl. (Elite+ and Diamond, respectively) 1) if you use your dining package, everything on the menu is free unless there's a (nickle and diming) upcharge. you get unlimited appetizers and desserts, and 1 entree. if you're out of dining packages, you can buy more. (and you should ALWAYS buy more instead of paying ridiculous ala carte pricing.) 2day is $89 + 20% tip, 3day is $119 + 20% tip. etc 2) yes, starbucks only. unlike the other ncl megaships, the Joy does not have solo studio cabins. the studio lounge has a espresso machine. 3) dont know about Haven sundeck but yes kids are allowed in the Haven court area.

on ncl, it's single serve pods but not kcup style. grounds are self contained

bravo = fire. obviously it's not as bad as the fire on a cruise ship earlier this year (forgot which line) in deck 1 (engine room) where the capt almost sounded the abandon ship. i was onboard a ship the week after that and the crew had their weekly drills at St Marteen pier. but this time, it was 3+ hrs long and concentrated in the engine room. crew i talked to afterwards said it was the longest drill they've ever been on and some on them worked 5+ years on cruise ships.

(Male, solo, 1 carry on luggage and 1 backpack) Driving to my sister's place in Brooklyn, NY for a cruise out of Cape Liberty. (Dropping my car off there.) Uber from her place to Cape Liberty is $85, including a $20 surcharge for going from NY to NJ. It's about 35min ride. Google says i can take public transportation to the World Trade Center in Manhattan and then walk a couple of blocks to the PATH train to Hoboken, NJ. Then once in NJ, i can take Uber to the pier ($16). Time via public transportation then Uber: about 1hr 45min. Or not worth the hassle of saving $65?

i dont know what time i'm going to wake up. i dont set an alarm. i dont want to set an alarm, unless i have an excursion i prepaid for. and if i'm going on an excursion, might as well goto the buffet to get coffee since i'm getting dressed in 30min anyway for the excursion. and i'm not trying to lose weight. i just trying not to GAIN weight by skipping breakfast

I was on Apex in both sunset veranda and Aquaclass (doing a b2b). No coffee maker. I enjoy waking up, making coffee and drinking it in my balcony in my pajamas. I dont want to get dressed and goto the spa cafe or the buffet just to get coffee. (I don't eat breakfast to cut down on weight gain on cruises.) NCL has coffee makers in their balcony cabins. Why doesn't Celebrity?

(Mom lives in NY so dropping my car there) Then I have 2 options: 1) At Ft Lauderdale, I can do B2b on Celebrity Infinity (6night + 8 night), hopefully free because Celebrity casino. (Beyond cruise free) - Never been to Bimini, Bahamas or Belize City or Grand Turks or Key West, FL - Will be staying 1 night at Hard Rock casino (free) because Infinity leaves 1 day after i debark Beyond - Fly back to NY at end of B2b 2) 14day NCL Breakaway repositioning from NY to New Orleans (I expect rates to drop to $50/day) then free 7day cruise at New Orleans (from land casino) - Fly back to NY at end of Beyond cruise - Partial Panama Canal: Enter 1st set of locks, then go back and leave through same set of locks. I normally sail balcony but I might take a cruise to Antarctica on the Infinity. (No need for balcony in cold weather) Deck plans show rooms 3112-3144 to be longer than other OV's? How do i know which ov's has a sofa?
