  1. In the past, it was 1/4 of the price drop as obc or a cabin upgrade. so $400 price drop = $100 obc. And 1 time only. Glad to see they are giving you back the full price of the drop as fcc. hm.. if you got fcc and the price still drops, can you get more fcc?
  2. i dont see for $793: Just checked 5 min ago. Still $900 solo 😞
  3. All good vp is at the $5 denom level ($25/hand) with 9/6 ddb being best. I think JoB is 8/6 (98.4%).
  4. They actually improved the ddb paytable when i sailed earlier this year. $5 ddb ($25/spin) is now 9/6, which is 99% return!
  5. yeah, meant Hong Kong. same difference in political climate. heck, i think the political climate is worse in Hong Kong with all the crack downs. and same issue... the Singapore to Hong Kong leg is all the 3rd world far east countries. Sounds like stopping at Singapore for a few days then stopping a few days in the major cites in Vietnam/Thailand is the way to go?
  6. Male, solo. ship= Solstice in balcony. I have already booked the Vancouver to Hawaii (9days) and Hawaii to Australia (17days) portions. probably going to book the Australia to Singapore leg. The question is Beijing. I'm a US citizen. i want to visit all those far east 3rd world countries but I really dont know if i want Beijing in this current political climate. I would fly from Beijing back to VA (Dulles airport). Keep Beijing leg, or get off at Singapore and fly/hotels for the far east countries like Thailand and Vietnam?
  7. I am currently on the Joy in Rm 10948. I wished i got the angled balcony next door. Or so I thought... This is what the deck plans show on NCL's site: But when I got to my balcony, I saw this: As you can see, 10946 is NOT an angled balcony! It's the same balcony as mine (10948). 10942 is the angled balcony. NCL's deck plans are WRONG! It is probably the same on the other side (10346)
  8. thx. it was just the obvious answer i was looking for. my understanding of pylons were for tying ships to it. so was puzzled to see all those pylons grouped together
  9. Thx! did not know this. Now for the Porterhouse next time 🙂
  10. The petite version still under $35. And I can't believe they're charging $45 for the Fisherman's platter 😮
  11. at least with Margaritaville, jimmy buffet paid NCL to put it in there. (i think) So nCL didnt care if it was empty. dont think anyone paid ncl to put American diner on the ship. All those servers must been bored out of their minds.
  12. I never noticed this before. in the slot screen, there's an option to see your tier status. It'll show you how many pts you need to reach your current tier again. so if you're Sapphire (15k pts) and the slot screen says you need 5k pts to reach your current tier again, then you've earned 10k pts in your combined cruises during the casino year. (april 1 - March 31) No need to the casino host and asking how many pts anymore. (They are still happy to give you that info if you ask)
  13. Mixology seminar: It was about the 'Sail and Sustain' eco-friendly alcoholic drinks. 1) 2) 3) Did not like Pulp art because of this liquor in it (bitters): 4) The seminar was held at the Sugarcane bar (deck) but outside on the deck. (CruiseNext did not mention that but the workers inside showed us where) Very informative. There were 8 flights. i hated the Pulp Art but liked the Cool Cucumber and Pineapple Surplus drinks.
  14. I used to spend a ton of $ playing Compuserve multi player games. It was like $10/hr for 300 baud.
  15. I'm currently on the Joy. Since cruise restart (Aug 2021), CruiseNext on any ship used to give $50 obc because there were no longer the Tour, or free wine tasting for Platinums and above. On the Joy, they now have wine tasting and a mixology class (both free to Platinums and above). Note: Still no free Behind the Scenes Tour Unfortunately for me, the times for those 2 events conflict with the cruise critic meet and greet. :( Oh well...
  16. I'm currently aboard the Joy. Platinum dinners changed to the following: Top voucher: Good for Cagney, Le Bistro, and ocean blue Ocean blue is a new choice! Bottom voucher: Used to be La Cuchina and Food republic (because no Moderno on Joy). Note: Food republic is limited to 4 dishes (no change) Now the bottom voucher is good for all other specialty restaurants not listed in the above voucher. That includes Tepanaki! Note: The vouchers still say the same old thing. I found out the changes by talking to CruiseNext
  17. 1) I'm used to aft balconies. Want to try forward balconies but they were always Haven so not doing that because pricing. Prima has non-Haven forward balconies. (They even have non-Haven corner Club balconies like rm 11106. At least it's not listed as Haven or suite in deck plans.) For those that have sailed on Prima's Forward facing Club Balcony, what were your Likes and dislikes? 2) Sailaway Club Balcony? Rm 11100: This one is called Sailaway forward Club Balcony? They have a forward Club Balcony just for sailaway rates? What's this about?
  18. the trade-in requires you buying at least 5 days worth of service according to the internet mgr i spoke to earlier this year. so you can't upgrade to unlimited 3 days before the cruise is over for free. :( thus upgrade price last 5 days of cruise: ($30 x 5) -100 for 150min trade in = $50 or $10/day Confirm with internet mgr on day 2 if you're going to follow my plan!
  19. When i first cruised in like 2014, i had Verizon QNC satellite internet. 9600 baud slow. (1/5th the speed of dial up internet) There were no free internet promos back then nor did I have status to get some free minutes. i could tether to my laptop and google for whatever i needed. mostly about my cruise and ports. Used Opera Lite browser, which was basically a text only browser. (no pics or video which was GREAT on 9600 baud speed internet)
  20. i expect that to be removed for the next casino tier qualifying period, which starts Jan 1,2023. so no more $100 obc per cruise for us high casino tiers
  21. 182 suites on E-class? wow! before covid, i had retreat access on the Edge because I was high casino tier. (Zeniths were also allowed in.) it was NEVER crowded except when there was a special event there. (usually music for a certain hr during a sea day)
