  1. In 2019 we did this one: Snorkeling At Coronados Island 4.75 hours | Loreto | LTO-775 $US 129.95 pp and found it to be pretty much a bust. Bad snacks, no place to eat the "snack", no real facilities on the beach, the one outhouse was beyond disgusting, snorkeling was just okay. I walked back into town, had a much better time, and found a decent meal. DW just went back to ship - she was not a happy DW. Like others I have been to Baja many times by ship or not and had heard good things about the town itself and so had been looking forward to a visit. We did enjoy the Whale Shark Encounter at La Paz. We are repeating this itinerary on Diamond in November. So we think it's worth a retry!
  2. Thermal Suite fees do not include the Japanese (Izumi) baths. The difference in Thermal Suite price is single vs. couples passes. I think Izumi was last priced at $15 pp per 90 minute visit. We're on Diamond 11/8 and 11/13 and will be spending a lot of time in the Thermal Suite
  3. I've had 7 Sapphire cruises cancelled by Princess in 2022. Good luck!
  4. We were on Grand April 4, 15 day Hawaii in aft Vista suite D737. We rarely needed to leave the cabin, but did enjoy Club Class dining several times for both lunch and dinner. Ship as noted above is in good shape, we had no issues. Good overall service, room service via the Medallion App worked 90% of the time, beats calling. We managed to get a Chef's Table but only by asking DRO directly. Held in Crown Grill, no galley tour.
  5. Yah, we're on the same page. Just hoping the OP, who lives 30 miles from San Diego cruise port, could have a chance to use their FCC should they be unable to extend them, fingers crossed, Bob's your uncle, etc.
  6. Absolutely right, and a good way to look at the situation. But for 2 of us, we have $1300 in use 'em or lose 'em FCC, so while we won't lose any money we've laid out, who wants to let that plus $800 in Casino free play go away...?
  7. mtnesterz has a great idea, that's what we're doing to use up FCC, Diamond Princess, Nov 8 out of SD, 5 day CA Coastal. We'll park the coach in Escondido
  8. Agree with the above. Our favorite Alaska trip was 14 days, Northbound/Southbound Vancouver / Whittier (on Coral - the best Princess ship for Alaska). Glacier Bay twice, plus a 31 glacier tour boat in Whittier that was only offered to b2b / round trips into Whittier. But one to watch for is a round trip Seattle itinerary that goes to Endicott/Tracy Arm and has the excursion where you get off ship right onto the tour boat and go up close and personal with a lot of glaciers then return to the ship in Juneau. One of a kind - we loved it.
  9. I won't book Sapphire since every time I do -- those voyages are canceled!!!
  10. In American Samoa just walk over to Sadie's By The Sea, a couple hundred yards to the east. Lot's of crew go there, good bar, nice beach. Make sure to stop by the National Park visitors center to get your passport stamp at the most remote National Park
  11. His name was Joao, had the same steward...
  12. Reminds me that on our PP equator crossing, DW was guilty of asking dumb questions such as "is this the up or down staircase?" and sentenced to being duly sludged.
  13. Sorry to hear that it wasn't good for you. We were on Grand in April and the Sole Picatta was excellent, truly memorable. Agree on service, plus we were able to walk in one night.
  14. Just go the restaurant on embarkation - there will be someone there - and book your reservation.
  15. $6 on black jack and Fun 21 $6 on your spot or $5 on the spot and $1 on the bonus bet I won't play blackjack since they only pay 6 for 5 for a bj and have a continuous shoe. So it's Fun 21 or wait for a $25 table with decent rules to open.
  16. Agreed, the swag is just a bonus. Visiting the bridge, medical (see the morgue), backstage, fo'c'sl, laundry, engine control room, stores, galley, print shop, and photo shop are more than worth the price. DW can't walk much or stand very long either, but this tour is very accommodating to her. Think of it as just another excursion. Just watching the sheet folding machine in the laundry is worth the price. Hope it comes back soon!
  17. Sabatini's Artichoke soufflé with cheese sauce, plus Manicotti, both delightful and they are sorely missed.
  18. Coral has obstructed ocean view cabins on Emerald deck for not much more than insides, right on $100 pp/pd . So for about $6K US per month...
  19. PCL booking systems don't seem to be set up to allow for "transfers", they always have to cancel and rebook.
  20. I had a server chase me all over since I had ordered delivery to "my current location" which at the time was our stateroom, I'm thinking the drink will come there. But I then went up to the buffet to get some snacks, not realizing that My Current Location would change. Back in the cabin I get a call asking if I'm on Lido... The app has 2 choices for delivery location: My Current location My Stateroom If your current location is your stateroom, the 2 choices look very much the same. I made sure to make the right choice from then on.
  21. I agree with waiting until you board to redeem and make resers, just off the Grand and Sabatini's and Crown were not swamped with folks making reservations. In all our cruises, I've rarely had more than a few people in line at the venue making reservations on embarkation. And in a suite, no issues moving the reservation in person to another night. We never get anything to sign for suite dinners. Wish there was sometimes to make tipping easier. But then we never get anything to sign when we do pay the "cover charge", it just shows up in the folio. And of course, it is confusingly called a cover charge by Princess - which does indeed "cover" the cost of the meal...
  22. Just larger balconies on top of a deck 7 bump out for a hatch.
  23. We used the US free ones from ihealth - orange and white box. You need 2 boxes for 2 people - they have to see you open the box. ihealthlabs.com $25 per person for the proctored test. We used them for our April Grand Princess cruise. But they don't use smartphones, need a PC/laptop with a camera/microphone, it is web based video - they see you - you only hear them.
  24. Best suites in the fleet but ... I left a review in the Cabin Review thread. We had joggers who just had to use Sun deck above - sounded like a herd of elephants - and they started early in the morning. We did get them to rope it off - until 7:30am - sigh. Got some wine a couples massage as compensation. Here's hoping you don't have fitness nuts on board. PS: bring bungee cords for all the doors.
