  1. Regatta Royale! My second favorite flavor after Elvis, The Fat Years!
  2. Funny, that’s pretty much what my husband said when I tried to explain the upcoming changes, “so much for our world our way.”
  3. Ouch…big mistake. We don’t drink, will never book a ship’s tour, and use our own air. If I wanted to pay for other peoples booz I have plenty of existing options.
  4. My apologies, when I said “they” I meant Oceania. Yes, other cruise lines do offer those tours, and have taken several of them (both paid for versions and free ones)
  5. I'm not trying to minimize your experiences in any way, however that is pretty much BAU for all the Oceania cruises. Oceania is not known for their onboard entertainment, at all. We've had cruises with lots of sea days, and cruises with minimal sea days. The Currents is pretty much the same each day. Without even looking at the currents on a sea day, or a port day, for us we know at 9 we'll have baggo, at 10 put put, at 11 ping pong, at 2pm shuffle board, at 3pm mini golf, and finally at 4 afternoon tea. (the order of those events may differ but once the pattern for that cruise is established...that's. the. pattern.) They could have, but they didn't because they don't offer those on any cruise that I'm aware of. We enjoy Oceania, and they are currently our cruise line of choice, and enjoy the onboard "entertainment" as it currently exists, to use your words, "copied and pasted directly from the currents two day prior" May your future travels be more enjoyable!
  6. I agree, seems strange to omit such a staple from the other ships. We spend a lot of time up in Horizons, including port days, and that coffee machine gets a workout from others enjoying the lounge! I understand their thinking in not putting out the early riser's pastries now that they have the bakery in the barista's area, but surely the coffee machine will be missed. I wonder what they'll do for afternoon tea now? Yes, most do drink tea during tea time, but that coffee machine gets plenty of use from those of us who prefer coffee during tea!
  7. Sadly we have had that experience on every single attempt, and trust me some of those bookings certainly weren’t a “special price.”
  8. I disagree, like anything else, there are flavors I do not enjoy, but there are some I look forward to! some of my favorites are the corn flavored one, Elvis the fat years, Harvey Milk and cookies, Regatta Royale, and the lavender flavored one. Personally I think it was a nice addition to regular flavors they offer.
  9. I couldn’t agree more! Regardless the size of the ship, you are on nothing more than a cork floating in a tub of water.
  10. I can speak personal experience. If your ship is at terminal J, the normal Oceania terminal”, on the south side next to the corporate headquarters of RCCL, take the bridge into the port! If you take the tunnel you end up being directed by the signage to drive last every other cruise terminal.
  11. For us we never saw such organized shore excursions dispatches .
  12. Thank you for the updates and wonderful pictures! Do you know how they're handling ice cream at dinner time? Is the new ice cream location open outside in the evenings instead of serving it inside like they have always done?
  13. Viking does the same, those were the two biggest things, after the poor quality of the baked goods served on the trays, was the general waste of everything put in front of me when I only wanted one item.
  14. You have no idea! As someone who does do laundry on a cruise, some of the worst interactions I've ever had with fellow cruisers have been in the laundry rooms!
  15. I agree! In addition to the quality of the food, I've always preferred the trollies over a platter at tea time. There are days when I just want one little pastry, having that entire tray dropped off is a waste.
  16. That seems like a silly move. Did they put anything where the ice cream was in the Terrace?
  17. I've seen that, that annoys me me to no end! Especially on the R ships with such a limited number of machines!
  18. That's an understatement! One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the count down timers on the washers and dryers can be highly in accurate. I always set a timer on my phone, come back and instead of 2 or 3 minutes remaining the machine may say 10 or 15 minutes.
  19. Personally it is a policy we like, when you see an advertised price for O you know that’s the price you’ll see on your invoice. No additional surprise of port fees added to the price quote. Depending on the ports in question those unadvertised fees can really add up!
  20. I would agree with that statement regarding food! Crystal's main dining room was wonderful, we found food there to be slightly better than what we've received on Oceania. The area where Oceania shines in comparison to Crystal is in casual options. Crystal in our opinion did not do "casual" very well. The options at their pool grill compared to Waves grill on Oceania were a joke. Also we found the buffet lacking the variety and quality of Oceania. We went once to afternoon tea on Crystal, on Oceania we attend almost daily!
  21. Directly opposite from the future cruise desk. or pre renovation where the seemingly always unused piano used to be. 😄
