I just got off of both a phone call and live chat where I got the same answer. From the live chat transcript:
I was able to check my resources. Upon checking here, For ships operating in Australian Dollars, the Gift Card value will be converted onboard using current exchange rate into the shipboard currency and applied to the guest folio.
I believe (not positive) that they only do the 1:1 for the "gifted" OBC (military, shareholder, etc). I think that when it is purchased, they actually convert it. I will be chasing this rabbit down the hole today.
We're fans of the Penthouse Suites on Riviera Deck near the Concierge Lounge. We don't need the huge wraparound balcony, and we prefer the interior layout better of the side-facing suites. The bedroom has a more open layout than the true aft suites. 🙂
You used "you" not "I" in your original post. That's why I responded. I'm not edgy about it. Enjoy your soapbox and rarefied air up there.😂 I'm very comfortable in my own skin, thanks for the laugh.
The Countess.
Your "logic" is not even applicable...at least in our case. We enjoy good cocktails/wine on our vacations and home; we also "keep our faculties intact". We're not bumbling lushes as you infer, but thanks for the judgy post...smh
We loved Bistro when they had it on Enchanted and were disappointed that it was removed. We are excited to try Catch.
Okay, full disclosure, we're excited to be on a cruise 😄
