The sofa bed can be configured as either a single or extended to a double.

During the alphanumeric shuffle, some of the H9s were turned into HIs. The H9s kept their Spa access.

My best time for a refund - 11 days. My worst time for a refund - 5 months. It happens. The standard response from MSC is "...2 billing cycles..." but it can vary, obviously.

I wouldn't want someone to book a HI and think that they have Spa access. Someone who booked a H9 in the past might book the exact same stateroom and think that Spa access is still included.

NCL took away Spa access on some of those H9 suites. The ones without Spa access are the same size as the ones that do have access but people should make sure that they are booking the correct ones (H9 or HI) if Spa access is important. Both have Haven access.

The M + ships have more balcony space but layouts are the same. MSC loungers don't always make sense (no surprise, it's MSC) and sometimes, loungers are better on newer ships...or worse on newer ships.🥴

Corks and Caps might be gone forever. It hasn't been seen on the website for years and I can't remember the last time that someone posted that they purchased it. Getting individual drinks for them is likely the only option since getting a package of any kind for them might not happen. NCL might try to force a soda package on them if the parents upgrade to the PPBP. If you are successful, let us know.

After all of these years, I still have his card. If I ever cross paths with Vishnu, I'm sure that it will be an excellent cruise experience. I had an interesting cruise that I was thinking of booking on Explora I but it would have required my kids to miss at least 4 days of school...not happening. I'm still keeping Explora Journeys as a future possibility but I haven't pulled the trigger and probably won't until I read more reviews.

From what I've seen, they're basically the same as Virtuosa.

The OP used the word "souls" which I guess means guests + crew. 10,000 guests would be a big jump from what we have now.

From what I've read, Disney will lower the passenger count and probably the crew count while making the ship their own. The total number of humans on a cruise ship will vary but I doubt that the average person would feel the difference between 95% and 102% capacity.

RCCL's ICON of the Seas should hit that number or get very close to it. Maybe a line such as Oceania, Regent Seven Seas (both are under the NCLH umbrella), Explora Journeys (brand new under the MSC umbrella), Silver Sea, Viking, Seabourn, Cunard, etc. might work better for you. There are also the "ship within a ship" concepts from NCL (Haven), MSC (Yacht Club), and Celebrity (The Retreat) if you still enjoy some of the big ship stuff. Just throwing some options out there....

That's good to know. People (with children) outside of the Yacht Club can use the backup plan.

TWO lobster tails is a Yacht Club tradition. It even has a nickname. This is a good example of how bringing children (who don't eat lobster) is a good thing. I'll just eat theirs if I can't have a second one included without charge. 🦞🦞😁

If everything else (promos, stateroom choice, etc.) is the same.... If the total is lower, cancel and rebook. If the total is higher or the same, do nothing.

The balcony is deeper. The bed is near the closet.

Escape and Breakaway are two different classes of ship and the balcony sizes are different for both the aft-facing and the side. Generally, aft-facing is deeper on Breakaway/Getaway and side is deeper on Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore.

Deck 13 is the least deep aft-facing balcony on both classes of ship. The OP can't fit those on their balcony.

Terms "across the pond" are different than in North America.

Bed near the balcony (can be split). Sofa-bed for 1 near the closet. Pullman bed for 1 above the sofa-bed.

A third option (which has worked well for me, so far) is MSC's concierge service. It's basically an in-house travel agent. So far, mine has been 100x better than the typical MSC customer service phone representative.

The number of meals given via promo has steadily decreased over the years. It's probably easier to get a reservation now than it was in 2018. There is no longer an "unlimited" plan and some people only get 1 meal for a 7 night cruise when taking the promo.
