  1. People like balconies, restrictions are lifted and people want to cruise, and the Mardi Gras is Carnival’s flagship.
  2. I am waiting for the $CCL holders to chime in and explain to us how this is not a cutback.
  3. at least for cheers - the drinks are not complimentary. They’re just pre-paid.
  4. "The Nutty Professor" with Eddie Murphy is a classic...the stuff they play on TCM is not something I would say is really in the average "Fun Ship" cruiser's wheelhouse...
  5. They are supposed to hold it until you leave the ship on your final cruise. But whether or not they do depends on how well they keep track.
  6. Wow they've got rid of the free movie channels? Is this fleet-wide?
  7. You should check in, it takes like 30 seconds if you have your passport etc in front of you. You can do it onboard if need be since you can access carnival.com for free, and getting a good arrival appointment isn't important obviously.
  8. Are your names different on the vaccine card and passport?
  9. Guy's has been really cut back since the restart. The burgers just aren't good anymore - bland and overcooked. And the fries - worse than Wendy's. It's a shame.
  10. I do recommend doing fixed time dining. You can do any time dining but there aren't many tables that seat that large of a group so it may be quite a wait versus fixed time dining where your table is ready every evening at your assigned time. But it's up to you, if y'all don't plan on eating together every evening then anytime may be fine. Or if you're OK with waiting for your table to be ready (it is a lot better now that the app notifies you it's ready, no waiting for a pager to buzz).
  11. No they don't do this anymore. They will load an offer onto your VIFP account that you can use to book at home for 2 weeks or so after the cruise, and get a small amount of OBC.
  12. They're only available to guests who have the offer on their account. Uncle Ernie can't get that rate unless he has the same offer for example.
  13. I bring on a large thermos (Fizzonator from Sheetz) that I fill up on Lido with ice water, or if need be I ask at the bars for a fill up with water and ice. I try to drink at least a gallon of water a day, and this helps me stay on track on vacation as well. They've never said a thing about my thermos during embarkation. However, it is empty at that point obviously.
  14. But no Carnival venues - no Guy's burgers for one thing.
  15. $CCL may not get much money directly from casino guests (they don't pay for drinks, often don't buy excursions, etc), but the casino gets a lot of money from casino guests - and the casino pays a lot of money to $CCL.
  16. Roulette is one of the biggest feast or famine games in the Casino.
  17. CCL is bleeding cash for sure but the casino sure isn't.
  18. It's just a way to use Costa's ships for Carnival without having to spend money to renovate them. What's to say?
  19. Well you won't be first on the ship but it doesn't really matter in my opinion.
  20. What is Carnival's Liquor & Beverage Policy? Drinking Alcohol On Board The minimum age for the purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages in the bars, lounges and gift shops is 21 years of age. Carnival reserves the right to request ID prior to the purchase of alcohol and refuse the sale of alcohol to anyone. Guests will be limited to purchasing a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages, per person, per day while on board. Bringing Liquor and Beverages On Board - Embarkation Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles. On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12-ounces/354-ml each or less, per person. Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750-ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided. Guests sailing with us on back-to-back cruises are entitled to bring the same quantity as stated in this policy, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each following cruise begins.
  21. It's just a slow time of year for travel.
  22. They make those each night anyway, usually served with the strip loin.
  23. Yes, we have been to that distillery three times just in the past year!
  24. Bermuda is a special place. I definitely recommend it!
  25. I am going to be on Sunshine later in September but we are going to Bimini instead of Nassau. Have never been to Bimini so kind of excited about that but honestly I don't mind Nassau.
