  1. we were there on celebration this past January. We were parked in parking garage on 3rd floor. It took 1.5 hours to leave the parking garage. I also recall a delay getting off ship. I think it was around 10 am when we got out of the tunnel and onto the highway leaving port. This was the weekend of the marathon 2023. Seems like 1145 is borderline for my comfort level
  2. Havana is small on Celebration. Just another option vs. a real distinct experience IMHO
  3. if all else equal, we find port Canaveral easier than Miami.
  4. i would encourage freedom if she is going to Amber Cove. Their pool is huge and a fun area. We tend to try new ports whenever possible. Both ships will have friendly crew and will be a fun vacation.
  5. Lately, the $100 Balcony with DOU everywhere has cost us about $3k-$4k for a 7 day cruise for us combined. Has been as bad as $6k for 7 days. I do not recall coming out ahead in $ since restart.
  6. -Enjoy the crew, they are amazing -Many floors are cabins only, this will save time trying to find everything -half the clothes, agree 100% -Star gazing is encouraged. Also sunset/sunrise. Very special while at sea. -ENJOY!
  7. 3k points per day usually. I am usually on the low end of points during many cruises. I have sat next to many with 5k points per day / 40k+ points in 7 days. Not sure it is that much better than ultra. jmho
  8. Been there and done that. Was really upset. This was a few years back. I usually wake up in the middle of the night and look for this offer. Good news is they did send a "we miss you " email and offer. I have since lost more money on subsequent cruises. I feel your frustration
  9. Three trips on excel. Really do not recall any motion. This includes one trip to southern itinerary which is typically bumpy. This also includes a return at 23-24 knots back to Miami. Any ship is subject to forces at sea.
  10. Might have been covered already. The smaller ships with less options seem to have less kids during non peak cruising season. There is less for kids to do on the older smaller ships. I only say this since our last cruise mid August on Celebration was very filled with teens and many were rude. We have grown children, cruise same time each year, but the large ship had a high teen population. no disrespect to kids, we were also at one time, but it was a bit much this trip.
  11. custom door sign. as mentioned, some custom shirts. Plenty of custom items available to create extra memories.
  12. I have observed teens sleeping on towels at mini golf. Not sure about roll away, perhaps a small air mattress?
  13. bring your own. Allowed up to 12inch diameter. We found one that oscillates and really keeps room cool. Its 9 inch in diameter and very powerful.
  14. Also to mention. It does not hurt to ask casino host during cruise if they will comp you anything. One of us goy a bottle of wine, The other some meal credits at seafood shack. As mentioned, there is no set formula, play for fun not future comps. It is usually cheaper to just book a cruise rather than gamble to win a cruise. I speak from experience.
  15. either is about equal with beach access. for us, I would lean towards port Canaveral just to avoid Miami traffic. Mahagony bay has beach to walk, costa maya has giant pool to walk to. Cozumel is cab. On the eastern, Amber cove his giant pool walking distance. Other ports are cab.
  16. Perhaps a rolling carry-on if you are unable to drop off. We typically drop our items inside the room, then leave to allow the team time they need. We have also placed important documents in the safe at the same time. The team seem very agreeable since we are not staying in the room. typically medicine and any soda we carry on. Just place those items in the big closets
  17. thank you all. Exactly what I was looking for.
  18. So when is the last date to use OBC from cancelled cruises from pandemic? Curious when some of the cruises may become more revenue generating. I know there are still a LOT of casino deals/offers, but hoping some cruises start to generate positive cash flow.
  19. Yes, Seeing the galley and appreciating the efforts of the team. It is a unique experience. For us, it was one and done, just because we are simple eaters. Glad we did it.
  20. Nope. No reason to say one cruise line is lesser. AND Walmart is the number #3 retailer in the world.
  21. I will never forget the time we were in St Thomas and a young girl, about 12, was bragging about the size of her RCCL ship and how it was the largest in the world. We were on the conquest during that cruise. Many of our friends are RCCL fans and always talk about CCL as "Walmart" of the seas. It gets old fast. We have always enjoyed our CCL cruises and find the staff amazing overall. No reason to pay more when they take great care of us and fantastic prices they offer.
  22. i think they ask you to leave your room aroun 730 ish- 8 at the latest. Seems like everyone off ship by 10. Aquarium shares parking lot, so this we be easy way to enjoy some down time before flight home.
  23. Banners and or danglers and attach with strong magnets. Have never had issues with magnet on ceilings to include halls. Walls and doors are hit/miss. For walls/doors use the command strips. Many people use non-flammable items purchase at dollar stores. Can have a banner or poster made in advance that is personalized.
  24. Not sure how the cruise was booked. If you used a PVP they might support and arrange some decorations. We have completed this before. Also, I would recommend having a plan in place to decorate yourself. Perhaps steward can open room for you. Magnets are your friend here. Can have decor purchased and bring with you. Maybe some are personalized. They just attach to walls/ceiling with strong magnets. Can also bring some decorations such as cake toppers and have them add to cake that you can preorder from funshops.
