  1. we have seen two incidents on carnival. An older gentleman that appeared drunk fell downstairs in aft stairwell. Also, a younger person at a bar that somehow broke a glass and got cut. Zero fights or drama in 21 cruises. I am sure there is drama, but we do not look for it nor stay up all night. FWIW.
  2. I usually hit even $500 at least once per day. Actually $508 when you include the service fee for the ATM. The real answer is $2900 on money reel - Paradise 2018.
  3. The only overwhelming change for us is the amount of food choices. Too much food for 7 days. The other nig change for us- the lobby bar is MIA. We always love a welcome aboard beverage, and you enter near the center stage. Make no mistake the mega ships are fine, just different experience.
  4. This is my exact thought process. I would really like to sit at a bar and order some nachos. One ship a long time ago even had warm pretzels. This is a miss for us.
  5. most cruise lines are more similar than different. Find a good PVP to help with room selection. The ocean view and sunset are same on all cruises as well as star gazing. There is plenty of food and drinks. Carnival is fun and more relaxed then most lines.
  6. The non smoking section does seem to have much less smoke smell, but not smoke free. I am sensitive and found non smoking relaxing. I will add my favorite slots are found in the smoking sections.
  7. This ^^^ is about right. Then add casino spending using calculus math and exponential calculations.
  8. Spa balcony deck 5 on celebration January 2023. Did not hear anything. There is an unmarked door forward deck 5 that leads directly into spa. We have same room booked again in August 2023. Spa was very empty during port days. Cannot speak on sea days for how busy spa was.
  9. I thought there was a charge for casino being charged to room account unless it is an approved casino cruise? Some casino offers waive the surcharge.
  10. Curious if the perks are ship dependent? Our Elite is on the Magic at the end of the month.
  11. Hello, Wondering what the Elite cruise experience has been this year 2023? We have an upcoming Elite cruise. Our first. Wondering what to expect? Our January Ultra was packed on celebration. We had to wait for open slot machines. Also, what are some recent perks/gifts/etc we should expect? I know a lot has changed, so hoping for very recent experiences. Thank you.
  12. Yes, have access. Room key opens the sauna door. Pro tip: there is an unmarked door on starboard ship that leads directly into the spa forward on deck 5. Just enter there, walk through the halls and enter sauna. Also, giant showers in the spa also as an option.
  13. They could always build up, as long as height stays below funnel. I thought they did similar on a few fantasy class ships?
  14. In January, port of Miami was getting anxious about our small tower fan. Had to call head of security to get approval. We have used this on ten different cruises without question. Same security officer had us unroll our canvas door banner. apparently, the brass grommets were suspect. Really a little extra ambition from security. It really depends on who is checking, and not what you are bringing.
  15. perhaps the teenagers can leverage the free giant showers in the gym to relieve some of the space constraints. as mentioned above, scooters should be in cabin, but not enforced.
  16. Did see or hear about them during our Jan cruise. I cannot say we were really looking though.
  17. Really believe there is more than enough free food options even on the smallest ships. Most nights, the buffet dinner menu is similar to MDR. You could basically get all the food you want, take it to your room and spend little time with crowds or waiting. We typically do not pay for any meals during the cruise and have been satisfied with options. Yes, portions are smaller, and we perceive quality has declined slightly.
  18. If you used a PVP they can request something for the room, at least they used to. Also. We ordered a cake for MDR meal, talked to wait staff and had purchased a cake topper from Amazon stating happy 55th. The wait staff added this to the cake. Purchase the room decorations package. Can have treats delivered to room. Order a banner for cabin door. It will be special with whatever you choose.
  19. my understanding is that you will get an email a few weeks before to ask for your choices for transportation as well as drinks for your room.
  20. yes, wear lanyard. Usually flip room key backward to not show what color it is. Also wear inside shirt when in port to make it less obvious we are tourist.
  21. Yes, most are open. You will be hard pressed to eat all options in seven days. Recommend to divide and share to have a chance to try everything, We typically split meals to taste then go back for favorites.
  22. we have had about 6 offers over the years. Only taken 2 of the 6 and they still call/email. Lately it seems to show up in the booking confirmation area without any phone call.
  23. Celebration has two steam rooms and one salt sauna room. Approx 12 tiled loungers and small pool. It was nearly empty on port days. Several spa rain showers and some regular loungers. We did not venture during sea days. It would seem small for 5000 passengers
  24. Take advantage of the spa showers. They are huge! Did not realize until the last day.
