It is usually when the ships come from overseas the first stop in the USA as they need to have their Inspections done
https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/vsp/default.htm
It takes a bit longer than normal turnaround days
Yes
Do not take the O Life Beverage package perk if you take O Life as both pax in the cabin have to choose the same perk
Depends on how much you drink if the Prestige package work for you or not
That is the way we felt on Oceania
Seeing crew members that remembered from a cruise maybe 3-4 yrs before
It is nice everyone can choose what line suits their needs & wants best
JMO
You can BUY the drink package in advance Call O & ask them to do it
Since you are a year away I would just wait a bit ..they are not going to sell out 😉
Just to add your angst 😉
the cruise is on the Black Friday sale so you may want to talk to your TA or whoever you booked with to see if the deal will work for you
Term J is a building & upstairs there are some hard chairs & washroom & the check in counters it has A/C
The big BUT is sometimes they will not allow people in the building until their ready so you are stuck outside in the heat
A word of advice on the IC the check out line can be long early morning
I would ditch the Grump & go sit by the pool until check out time
If you think he would be bad sitting in the lobby of the hotel he will be worse sitting in the port building
I know from experience 😉
they could also do East to West more options in April as ships reposition for the Alaska season

Yes I agree
as I said some people adapt well to being away on a ship or land & others do not do as well
We did 3 mtns in Florida after 6 wks I wanted my home 😉
On a ship for 5 wks I am ready for my home

It is not just cruises that have supply chain issues we are experiencing here in the Centre of the Universe
Some weeks it is paper products some weeks some food issues
JMO
A true RTW cruise you would not be repeating the ports & you would not be changing cabins
if they have open dining then you can sit with new people each day
But yes the other factors would still have limited storage same menus every 2 weeks same shows rtc..
Some people adapt well to that but others do not
it is something people have to consider if you are a person that can be stuck with the same people for 3 to 9 mths
Hostile ports in Canada ?? 😲
Well if you read the T & C of any cruise line yes they can changed the ports at will
If you want a Panama trip in April check Princess, HAL from California to Florida
Or Florida to west coast look at RCL, HAL, Princess,Carnival, NCL Celebrity
More Panama sailing are usually Jan to Mar
They need a VISA
So if they have not started the process they better try to get it done today or cancel the cruise
Did you read any of the links posted above?
If you are getting on when the ship arrives from a TA there is a ship inspections from CDC plus all the pax & crew security checks
I would just ask the hotel to hold your bags after check out sit in the lobby (it is nice) or take a walk to get any supplies you may need there is a CVS close by
If you have an early time slot they may let you in the building or you may be lined up outside in the heat ..we have done both
Once inside there are chairs upstairs where you can sit & wait ..I would make sure you have water/snacks incase non are provided that is hit or miss
Personally I would prefer the comfortable seats at the hotel
Enjoy the cruise
