  1. @indiana123 really pleased to see your post and that all went well and fabulous that you can feel that the operation has already been beneficial. I hope they gave you a sticker for being brave! Gill x
  2. We will all be thinking of you Indiana and look forward to hearing from you again when feeling up to it. Gill x
  3. I quite like the sail into Valletta and quite enjoy one port day in Malta. For me, the joy of cruising is waking up (always a good start to the day) in a different port or country and enjoying the thought of going ashore. But I must admit, having stayed two nights at the Lake Louise hotel @zap99 I could quite happily wake up to that view for several days! Stunning,
  4. Having browsed thru it for my upcoming Aurora cruise I came to the conclusion it was just one big advertisement for coffee shops and bars in port (I wonder if P&O gets paid for that). I do find Peter Dagnal’s port guides from that other well known social website far more helpful……
  5. I’m not sure my opinion is relevant as my 2 week cruises were several years ago now, plus Aurora is very much my favourite. I did enjoy the cruises and found it a friendly ship. However I have many friends that love Arcadia. I do agree with @Gettingwarmerand would suggest a short cruise on her before any final balances are due. Please keep us posted.
  6. Hello. I cannot advise about Arcadia as not been on her for a longer than a 2 week cruise. I have done the world cruise on that particular route on Aurora tho - such a fantastic holiday/adventure. I was on starboard side and found the sunshine quota was pretty equal throughout the whole cruise, altho I think going out the port side got more of the sunshine whilst crossing the Atlantic. Hopefully someone on this forum will be able to give you more current and ship specific advice. But - it is a wonderful way to travel!
  7. So was lacrosse. That hard cricket like ball would fly thru the air at great speed!!
  8. And let’s face it the English girls / Lionesses won the Euros…..
  9. I’m very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your food as I’m back on Aurora next month. I’ve been cruising with P&O cruising for over 30 years - including two full world cruises and two half ones, but this will be my first since Dec 2019. I must admit I’ve had very few meals in the MDR that have been sent back or not eaten, but my current expectations are significantly lower than previously. 🤞
  10. Ooh. I’ll be interested in how you enjoy that cruise. If you get the promised good weather, it’ll be wonderful. Enjoy it.
  11. Oh how lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed Nagasaki when there 10 years ago on Aurora. The museum about the bomb was fascinating and very moving. Everyone there was delightful. I can remember the local children waved us off with “Come back soon” banners. I seem to recall it was Aurora’s maiden visit, but could be wrong.
  12. @Megabear2 please keep posting. I think most of us who regularly post on this forum (and others that don’t as well) really appreciate your posts. Ignore any posters who criticise and be grateful they are not sat at your table! Forearmed is forewarned and if your posts make people think about how to deal with some of the issues that you have encountered, then what you have posted is invaluable. I’ve enjoyed ICFs posts from his cruises and I’ve found yours informative - a good balance of opinions shows just how everyone’s holidays on the same ship can be different. Thank you and I do hope there are no more issues for you to contend with.
  13. A puffer jacket…..? 🙄 There’ll be back to front baseball caps 🧢 being worn next in the MDR on a formal night…. (oh hang on, I’ve seen that too 🤣).
  14. Sounds a great idea to go to Gunwharf the night before, Sue. Which ship are you going on?
  15. Maybe they are gifting you this excursion by way of an apology for the cabin debacles ……? You can but hope! 🤞🙏
  16. Fabulous to hear most adhering to dress codes and enjoying the cruising experience. I bet the Japanese couples looked wonderful…
  17. As always, it’s how a company deals with a problem and how quickly they explain how they are going to resolve the issue. P&O appear to be failing miserably for @Megabear2 and others by the sound of it. I truly hope a satisfactory outcome is soon reached.
  18. Have a great cruise…….x
  19. I always remember it as there is “port” left in the bottle! (Or not🤣🤣).
  20. Good morning all. The day has started dry and am hoping it will be less wet than the last few days. I went to see Anton du Beke from Strictly last night in his show “An evening with……” He was very good - the dancing was sublime and he sang quite a few numbers with a guy called Lance Ellington (who has been one of the Dave Arch singers) and together, they were excellent. Whereas I’m sure for many, the evening would not be of interest - if you are a Strictly fan - I can recommend it. I’ve also booked to see Giovanni in Feb.
  21. It’s so good to have you back @kalos - and as you can see from all the posts, you were very much missed. What a wonderful little family the CC community is on this forum….. I remember going into the Savoy a few years ago and thought it was just lovely. I’m so pleased you and Mrs K had such a fab holiday and congrats on the news from your granddaughter. Gill x
  22. I just hope they don’t go over to plastic plates with sections for different food types ……🙄
  23. Was it Echinacea…..? I certainty take that 1 week before and during the cruise to help prevent/shorten colds etc.
