  1. Freedom has a dry dock scheduled Dry dock: 10/04/23-10/22/23 Maybe to get a new funnel and more?
  2. Actually I think cruising is healthier than staying on land. At least for a few days more.
  3. You simply choose to ignore Carnival's innovations whether the smoke free Paradise or the first mass market line to require masks and everything in between.
  4. Obviously. Especially if one rarely leaves the ship.
  5. Excellent selection of ports. Other people have their own agendas - some never leave the ship. We've cruised the Med several times on Carnival and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. For us, the ports are what we are interested in. The ship is not the destination - it is just transportation from port to port and a place to sleep. You can spend more, but why? Touring in all the ports will wear you out.
  6. Hard to say. I think most people who think they might have covid on the ship aren't testing.
  7. The thread is technically about a Carnival Pride British Isles cruise and has been hijacked enough.
  8. The menus are close, but prices are a little higher now
  9. Look for tax breaks for alternative fuel vehicles, too.
  10. Vaccinations don't cure - they help prevent. And a new booster should be available in September that I hope will quickly be adopted by cruise lines.
  11. Conquest class have some cabins like you are looking for, but don't think Fantasy class does.
  12. In your opinion.... For British Isles, I would choose Princess before P&O and a rowboat before MSC.
  13. Perhaps you were looking at a 1A porthole cabin that is a twin bed and a convertible sofa?
  14. and other cruise lines but you have to watch the restrictions on other cruise lines - e.g. a $500 limit on a Celebrity cruise.
  15. I can't remember when the US didn't lead the world in oil consumption, to say nothing about per capita consumption. But as pointed out somewhere above, the US has never stopped importing energy.
  16. It's always been easier for me to google carnival covid policy anyway.
  17. Pretty sure there are more false negatives which is one reason there is covid on the ships. Another is those who had a positive test within 90 days and have recovered don't need to test. Not that they couldn't be infected a second time.
  18. It's in the contract (c) Guest agrees Carnival has, at all times with or without notice, the right to enter and search Guest’s stateroom, personal safe or storage spaces, or to search or screen any Guest, and/or personal effects, at any location, to ensure compliance with any of the restrictions set forth in this agreement. Any Guest who refuses any such search or screening may be denied boarding or disembarked and no refund of the cruise fare will be issued.
  19. I think Big Oil could produce more but they choose not to. As I recall, the whole point of the SPR was to be a bargaining chip should foreign oil producers try to weaponize oil, but the US doesn't import that much these days. I'm not sure the SPR is needed, or at least it should have a new purpose defined.
