  1. @grapau27no mistake lol. Thought you were trying to be funny. I think I know your dashboard better than mine. my ocean view today.
  2. @BermudaBound2014 I am wondering if you need to update your screen name, lol! but seriously how nice of you to share this lovely gesture! Organizing tours is a ton of work, and it often goes unrecognized but sometimes…. @canadianbearhow thoughtful! So nice to recognize that effort! Always proud of my fellow Canadians!
  3. Good morning and thanks all! I think Green is very wise, I really enjoyed his novel the Fault in Our stars. Helsinki is a beautiful city, especially the cathedral and the church that Sandi, Lenda and Tony already showed. But it is special for me as on our second visit, I checked our email in the city hall and immediately burst into happy tears as I saw the ultrasound photo of our first grandchild. @sailingdutchy we also loved the old Rotterdam! I have been reading but not posting as recently my good friend of many years lost her son. All loss is difficult, but loss of a child seems particularly tragic. wishing @JazzyVgood results today! @richwmn so sorry to hear you had to miss Kangaroo island! Our friends told us about the penguins.
  4. Good morning and thanks all! Welcome back cruisers! Happy family day! And presidents day! So sad to hear the news in Minnesota, unfortunate that these people take others with them. I’ve attended one line of duty funeral and that was more than enough! I know how it affects the families and other officers. @kochleffel wait a week or two before making those decisions. Utah is absolutely gorgeous and you can see a lot without intense hiking. Agree about how flying is no fun anymore, as I anticipate a red eye home in a few weeks, but it has been so worth it!
  5. I am unsure of exactly what you are referring to, but would be very cautious as I am familiar with several people getting cancelled close to their dates due to “plumbing issues”. YMMV That being said I would look in Venice in Cannaregio or Castello. We stayed in a two bed apartment that we rented through a hotel. They also provided breakfast. It had laundry. We also had a three bedroom VRBO on the north side but it was many flights of stairs. Be aware that second floor is equivalent to North American 3 rd floor. IMO the sooner the better.
  6. Good morning and thanks all! Bon voyage @cat shepard @Nickelpenny Welcome home to the Koningsdam sailors! RIP Navalny! Otaru is famous for sushi, where the chefs go to learn, beautiful enamelled jewelry boxes and glassware as well as a steam clock. Suggest you don’t miss the shuttle, as it’s a very long walk into town and after clearing customs that took ages. IMG_1720.mov
  7. I’m another Hawaii lover, so happy to follow along! Agree about the special energy in Hawaii, very healing. Last nights waves were amazing!
  8. Yikes on the coyote attacks! We had part of our provincial park closed last year because of attacks. Mostly during denning season, and some dog owners let their dogs run off leash where they shouldn’t. But they are losing their fear and have been walking in groups of six right across from where we live. Scary for sure! We really enjoyed the Fado show we went to as well. Such a different style of music.
  9. Love seeing these more off the beaten path scenes! I remember reading your live thread when you were there. I would love to return, DH for the tarts alone!
  10. I actually posted before I read all the posts, as I am another three hours later. I did correct it after I read the whole daily. Nice of you to post for her!
  11. Good Morning and thanks all! Especially to those who contribute daily and those who have stepped up to keep things going! Had a son who loved sponge bob! Lol! Hugs to all who need them! @MISTER 67 fair winds and following seas! I’m really enjoying the beautiful photos of Lisbon, @grapau27@StLouisCruisers @Quartzsite Cruiser@JazzyVand love the unusual tiles @0106 We so enjoyed a little jewel box of a museum there as well as seeing some Fado and enjoying the beautiful palace in Sintra.
  12. Thanks for taking one for the team, in the interest of research 😂
  13. @lazey1 prayers that the right path will unfold for you! For some gentle encouragement our friend is doing great only two months later after open heart valve replacement, swimming, walking and feeling much better. I am wishing you the same but glad your doctors are carefully evaluating! @MISTER 67 I used to always use audio, or adieu and often youth and young. I’ve switched to crane and it seems to be better for me. Best of luck! I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Anniversaries are tough!
  14. I think it’s just luck and a matter of time, lol! For awhile I was also doing dordle(2) quordle (4) and octordle (8). Now I’m just doing wordle, connections and spelling bee😂🤷‍♀️
  15. Good morning and happy Valentine’s Day! DS was born with a hole in his heart, which thankfully closed when he was three! @MISTER 67 I got wordle in two yesterday! Fun game. Once in one! @Suslor happy birthday to your DH! @superoma happy birthday to your twins! ! @rafinmd sending hugs, anniversaries are tough! @cat shepard we met some people from Florida yesterday at the beach who said they came to Hawaii to get warm!
  16. I’ll be the devils advocate. In our decades of travel in Europe,we have not been as fortunate as Hank. We have encountered two airline strikes and French aircraft controllers strike. A fire in Rome airport cancelled all flights and we had to find alternatives. We have had an Italian train stop for no reason, we think it was dinner time. Things can and do go wrong, in Venice there was a strike announced to start the next day for the vaporettos and alilaguna, but we were assured that one main route would function. Surprise surprise it was not! After waiting an hour in the rain with luggage we had to call a private water taxi. So while I agree, independent travel is our preferred choice best be prepared. And we still love Italy. We too have driven all over Italy, we enjoy it but make a wide detour around Naples. We have had to travel by taxi back and forth from Salerno to Naples and it was pretty congested. We arrived well over an hour late for an appointment.
  17. Enjoying tagging along! Thanks for all the interesting facts about the cruise! I am slow catching up but saw your ship earlier in Kona this week! We enjoyed her on a Panama cruise! Aloha!
  18. Good morning and thanks all! @ger_77 sorrytohearof your losses! It’s hard to lose one’s elders. I too have only one aunt left. How kind of you to make those meals! I share your planning mid sleep, sigh! Well we’re thinking today will be a good day for Costco, lol! Everyone seems busy🤷‍♀️ @Haljo1935 we enjoyed our tour to that town, That church is in the photos! @RedneckBob you missed your chance! fuggadabuddit!
  19. On land definitely, it lasted longer than the usual. And quite noisy in kona,
  20. @dfishthanks, Kealakakua bay is lovely. Hope you saw some of the spinner dolphins and whales along the way, now time for you to relax!
  21. Good morning and happy lunar new year! A special thanks to @JazzyVfor keeping our lists and to @rafinmd for starting and keeping track for several years! @Haljo1935 wishing you a very happy birthday! @Heartgrove congratulations on the new Subaru, I agree that buying can be an awful experience. We need to look at purchasing in the near future! @dfish wondering if your excursion was by boat? @ger_77glad Maurice is a little further along, what a process! @smitty34877 sending extra hugs and prayers things improve soon for you and Tana! We had a rainbow too last night, hopefully it was a good sign as I felt a little nervous going to bed last night after the earthquake. It was really loud and seemed quite extended here.
  22. Oh too bad! So disappointing, we were guessing you went to a coffee plantation. @dfish yikes on the tender loading! I thought your photos were pretty decent! Did you go to Kahuluu? We got a new snorkelling camera but it was still too rough yesterday but I’ll show you one photo. Hope you saw the whales, they were really active around noon. They were saying hello! We watched you sail off into the sunset along with a nude photo shoot on the beach, lol!
