Hello Irene, IMO Hiroshima and Miyajima are worth two nights, it’s a long way by train and don’t think it’s really possible as a day trip. We flew there from Tokyo the first day we arrived and worked our way back to Yokohama over 10 days by train. We stayed at a nice hotel right at the train station in Hiroshima. Kyoto is worth spending several days and Yokohama is a pretty city with nearby beautiful gardens. You will also have some jet lag to contend with so spending a few days acclimatizing prior to the cruise would be a good idea. We then spent the last four days in Tokyo after the cruise. It is a very intense busy city and we worked up to it at the end. We found it very easy to travel in Japan, the people were lovely and the trains excellent.

Yes we did have it in Japan pre Covid and were disappointed. Nothing too memorable and no dessert at all! Hoping that’s changed, you could get mimosas.

All three are easy to do it yourself. Depends on what you want to see and do, but there are public buses and taxis available that will be much less expensive. We’ve been to all three and only did a private tour once years ago to Lindos on Rhodes.

Good morning and thanks all! Prayers for those who are ill! This! We had an interesting cruise one time and were asked to repeat it. We agreed, and then the day before final payment the other couple bowed out. We already had purchased flights to Europe so it kinda of left us high and dry. But we decided to go anyway, then we were offered a sweet move over deal but we’re already in Europe so we continued and had one of our best cruises ever with great people onboard! so you never know! Perhaps buy the cancel for any reason?
