  1. Yikes. Not good. I would send a letter or email through the investor relations page. I was caught up in the same glitch you were and have been checking daily.
  2. For further research it finally occurred to me to use the website chat
  3. I tried this recently and was denied. OBC seems to be strictly onboard
  4. Has anyone who is departing from Anchorage also gotten this email? Or is this only for Vancouver departures?
  5. The reports I have seen are all people who are leaving from Vancouver, I wonder if that is the difference. Maybe others will chime in. CVS has plenty of appointments available. You can always get the test in Anchorage if needed
  6. The current policy varies by excursion. For the most common excursions I think it is 48 hours penalty free. But be careful some excursions are non-refundable or have up to a 90 day cancellation period. These are usually ones that require highly sought after entrance tickets, airfare or other complicating factors. I am sweating one right now with no cancellation allowed.
  7. It is too bad they don’t indicate how many they need. There was one my nephew missed and if he had known they only needed one more he would have asked me. As it was he was told after the cancellation decision was made.
  8. It is hard to gauge material weight online. I was fortunate to find mine around town. I will look at Magellan. Thank you
  9. Read the stats. Lots of “cases” very low hospitalizations and extremely low deaths. There is more to say but not on this forum.
  10. I saw those. He is not going to wear zip offs, he has definite rules about what constitutes clothing😉
  11. Maybe this is the wrong forum but I find so many great sources here. I am thinking ahead to our Amazon trip. I have found light weight long pants for me but am having difficulty finding them for John. Mine are super lightweight, quick dry and with handy zip up pockets. Most of the athletic wear like Nike and Reebok is too heavy. I am looking for material about the weight of basketball shorts. Does anyone have recommendations? Thank you
  12. Here is the frommers article on the letter, note you need a positive test at least 10 days old yet no more than 90 days old https://www.frommers.com/tips/health-and-travel-insurance/how-to-get-proof-of-recovery-from-covid-19-for-travel
  13. You won’t know unless you test. A positive test is not the end, try again for a negative test. Else you will need to go across the border with ground transportation. The rules for prior Covid are a process which can not be accomplished in an afternoon
  14. If you don’t have Covid now just take the test. The requirement is that you present a negative test result, no more, no less. You could have 15 tests and if 14 were positive but one negative you fulfill the requirements. Don’t flame me, flame the bureaucracy
  15. I was on the transatlantic from FLL to Barcelona then from there onto Rome. On the first segment FLL to Spain we had lots of enrichment activity. Once we were on the 7 day journey there was none except shore talks
  16. As a reminder to those that lose their phone the first step is to have someone call the phone. It might be in your pocket or someone nearby will pick it up and tell you the location. I have been on one too many excursions which were needlessly turned around because someone didn’t take this simple step.
  17. If you read the ship description on the website it says the HDMI ports are disabled
  18. It is pretty quiet. I am traveling with my sister on this one.
  19. Yes, tours sell out. The travel industry has lost lots of companies and employees. I have had quite a few wanted tours/waitlisted that I never been booked. In some cases I have not even been able to get transportation to do the tour independently nor have been able to book private tours. If it is a must do book ahead of time.
  20. I think HAL is trying to protect their crew. The crew still must test periodically by CDC rules and if found positive, even asymptomatic, they are quarantined for extensive periods of time. The crew shortages are real and the situation is made worse by these quarantines. Protect the crew, protect the industry
  21. Look at Shoppers Drug $40 CAD https://www.shoppersdrugmart.ca/en/health-and-pharmacy/covid-19/testing
  22. With sufficient notice I would gladly take this offer. I am doing the whole tour and there have been some abridgments made since I booked.
  23. Even though I use Apple maps at home I use Google maps and AllTrails for traveling as you can download a city map to be used without internet. Sometimes in a narrow alley among tall buildings I have lost internet. I always drop a pin where my ship is docked . There are other apps that allow offline maps; I think GPS my city also does
  24. The work Visas seem to be a major bottleneck. In the case of the land and sea in Alaska the onshore facilities have lost many employees as people found other employment. Alaska, like much of the natural parks and wilderness in the US, relies on foreign and US college students for staffing. That has evaporated. As an aside and as an example our city is only opening 2 of our 4 community pools because they are unable to find lifeguards. Lifeguards are usually students seeking summer employment and who took the training at school.
  25. Thanks. Someone on the Holland America board mentions Shoppers Drug/Phamaprix. They offer the rapid test for $40.
