  1. For us laundry was available earlier as they were able to get a full load of fresh water at Manaus
  2. For the period you are on the Amazon you will be asked to withhold doing laundry. Check the itinerary, as I recall it was 5 or 6 days.
  3. Holland removed all of the guest laundroterias back in 2019 or 2020.
  4. @MisterMatthew That can be a great discussion to have at those morning chat sessions on the ship with various officers. I recall we had the ice pilot give a talk on our way through the Greenland fjords and he told us how much he charged per day. It was eye opening. Port fees can entail service charges as well as tourist taxes a locale may levy.
  5. @Haljo1935 I was reading the info about this recently and it said airline baggage fees apply. Is that not true? If it is true and you have status with an airline how does that work?
  6. No, you will need to make arrangements with your insurance company and pharmacy to get all you will need before leaving home. One thing you can do is now discuss with your doctor doubling your prescriptions. All of ours are double so instead of a 90 day supply we get a 180 day supply every renewal. (I did this during the Covid lockdowns when supply chain issues delayed one of my prescriptions)
  7. You need to get written permission from HAL. The only exception I know of is if a ship is in the final destination for multiple nights. It is not a big deal to get that permission
  8. When I was young I traveled by canoe and pitched a tarp but now I prefer laundry . I have long ago quit buying new clothes to cruise - I cruise in what I know I am comfortable wearing. It’s like I tell my nieces - spend a little money so work doesn’t become drudgery.
  9. My experience in many cities including Amsterdam is paying Uber by cc protects you from price gouging. I am done with taxis! (The exception is prepaid service)
  10. Even when they do there are always a few who don’t get the memo or think the whole world is Disneyland
  11. https://www.aarp.org/membership/benefits/cruise/holland-america-line/
  12. I use the ship often. I think the convenience is worth the fee in many locations. I mean, I am not buying a house just getting a few coins for public restrooms and such. For euros I usually ask friends and families if they have any left over. When I leave I convert the euros to chocolate at the duty free airport shop
  13. Ok, had my dates confused a bit. I just remember you guys talking about the email a few short days after I had paid in full. I had paid to accommodate my travel schedule. White Sands National Park was excellent
  14. There is a little feedback button on the left margin of the website. Leave feedback, if nothing else send them a link to this thread.
  15. Try this! Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click site map. The links from that page seem to be working.
  16. Frustrated I finally recalled an old trick which worked. I scrolled to the very bottom of the page, clicked on site map and used the links on that page. Those links worked at least for the task I was trying to complete.
  17. Getting a blank page when manually inputting booking. The site was working for me this morning but has steadily deteriorated
  18. Though much I did not like I did like the stateroom. I wonder if AI also calculated fares for that stateroom ?
  19. Membership requirements have changed since I posted this. I download the card to my digital wallet and hand it over at the desk.
  20. In recent days when logging in I have learned to watch the url line to make sure the page is fully loaded then another few seconds for it to auto refresh. If it doesn’t auto refresh try refreshing. Not defending HAL’s worthless IT department just trying to help you gain access
  21. I did not receive an email but in early November people on my roll call did get an email to pay a few days early and get $100 OBC. I was a bit miffed as I had just paid mine off early. My TA got HAL to apply the offer.
  22. I think HAL now has been listing cruises as sold out a few weeks prior to sailing. I know with certainty my upcoming cruise is not sold out yet it shows as sold out. Perhaps this new system is a new method to handle late bookings.
  23. The HIA package was just increased to $55 so it should be set for a while. I do not know about the spa pass, sorry.
  24. It just started. It is too early to gather experiences yet
