  1. Yes. Fill your cart and checkout. During checkout, just above the credit card info there is a small clickable link for gift cards. Click that and fill it out. One thing you can’t do is mix credit cards and gift cards, it must be one or the other for each checkout
  2. They are all Black Friday deals and expire tomorrow. They may extend a day or two but that no one knows
  3. If you want to leave town to go to the nature and volcanic sites up mountain I would suggest a ship tour. This is one of those cases where you have distances to cover in a limited time with limited options.
  4. That will work. He will have to change back to his sign in if he wants to check his account or buy shore excursions and such. Those things can be managed other ways such as by phone, visiting the customer service desk, etc…. Changing back once or twice isn’t a big deal.
  5. Europe is very easy to do on your own if you do the research. I use ship excursions for far flung places I want to get to in a limited time, specially priced museum passes, other specialty visits and if I have a free excursion perk. There are plenty of private guides, taxis, Ubers and car services.
  6. I guess they can go live in their storage sheds full of beanie babies
  7. Cruising and flying are two separate issues. For those who simply go to the Caribbean or Canada all is fine until by misfortune you are not able to sail home. If that happens the ship will send your passport to the port agent who will get that passport to you so you can fly home after your emergency passes for those of us who travel further afield a passport and sometimes a visa is a requirement
  8. I am aware. HAL really causes their own problems. They are resolved that there passengers are a bunch of old, technology illiterate persons so that is who they cater to. And guess who sails them? Not all of us but they do attract an inordinate number of refuseniks
  9. Quite simple. Here is what is available, here is the minimum, please enter a bid. I don’t need proxy bidding or notifications. Some do like proxy and notifications but I am very calculating on what I will pay and not easily nudged. It would be transparent that all guests would know when and where the bidding starts. People have expressed a lot of angst with calling upsell as well as casino rates. These features would even the playing field.
  10. The benefits of booking onboard are not that great, they lowered the OBC last year. I would think prepaid gratuities are more valuable. Once onboard in January buy a stack of $100 deposits to use in these situations. They are refundable.
  11. The recourse is the OP is not in the final payment period. HAL actually has a new best price guarantee that should allow him to refare. I also think he has a good position to demand club orange be moved with him. To fully cancel with a full refund he would have to have a refundable deposit. HAL is probably one of the most lenient cruise lines when it comes to changing and refaring. They also offer a variety of refundable or very low cost deposit options. No one should be booking with a nonrefundable deposit
  12. This may be in partial response to those that grumble about others getting casino rates. I would next like to see a transparent upsell auction process
  13. So then I don’t go😅. They are relying on people with a gambling/auction bent, I am one who can take it or leave it
  14. Work with them to have that transferred also. If you have a refundable deposit simply re-fare keeping your original booking number. Everything you have pre-purchased should transfer also.
  15. I have done it successfully. We had a series of major expenses and chose to downgrade on our least favorite upcoming cruise. It was no problem as we were before final payment. We were able to transfer our HIA package and other cruise prepurchases
  16. Did you use a TA? If so call them. Is your deposit refundable? If it is the simplest method may be to cancel and rebook if not then call and have it refared. I sometimes re-fare a cruise 2 or 3 times before final payment to capture all the perks I can, (well - if those perks are significant. )
  17. It seems to me you can wait and watch and put yourself on the list at day 8 if you don’t see a price drop. Another tool in the bargain hunting toolbox .
  18. No, they don’t but if you are not past final payment you can re-fare the cruise. In your case I would definitely call even if past final payment to see if they will somehow accommodate you
  19. Interesting. I notice the cruise following our South Pacific is on the list so I may sign up as I need a Mexican art shopping trip. Thank you
  20. I think there is an even split now between those who like self service everything 🙋‍♀️ and those who like full service and/or need full service. If a website is fully functioning I am inclined to buy more services as a one stop shop. HAL makes that difficult and so loses some of my business. (Yes, I am happy to have my TA but as I have said in the past that is a family obligation and after much trial and error I found an agent in the family business who I enjoy working with, if there was no obligation I would be a self serve customer)
  21. I have never been so glad to have a competent travel agent as now. It seems that the agency reps (wholesale) are still competent the retail side is a matter of luck. I have had good and I have had bad. It shouldn’t be that way. The website is far more disturbing as no matter what browser, which device I use I can never complete my tasks in a single day.
  22. I do like the MDR and the recent reports of the new menus are exciting. I also like Tamarind, I agree Canaletto is much improved. DH likes the Pinnacle dinner but I prefer the lunch - same great beef, smaller portions and without the pretentious service style. As to the various pop ups I am yet to read a review that makes me want to try them.
  23. Sorry it was rough. I spent the day sending nasty notes through the website feedback button.
  24. Fixed dining is to an assigned table at an assigned time usually quite early around 5:30 for the early seating. Many like this option as you can be finished dining for the first theater show. The first day the maitre de will be available for you to state what size dining group you prefer from 2 to 8. Remember if things work out oddly you can request another table. If you want to meet new people every night you would be better served by anytime dining rather than fixed dining. With this option you go to the dining room at anytime and request seating alone or seating with others. of course timing is everything with this option. I like fixed dining as your waiters get to know you and what you prefer. You will also get to know your table mates very well. If you choose to not dine there for a night for whatever reason it is polite to mention it to the maitre de or senior waiter. I will often stop by at lunch to let them know I have other plans. You can also call by phone as well. someone with more experience can help you with Club Orange.
  25. As @crystalspin said but there are many fee parking areas in Fort Lauderdale where you can make a reservation and quite a few hotels too offer a package
