  1. 😂 I would add to that.,,ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS and the US Embassies. They have just advised us to be cautious when traveling outside of the country. Isn’t that always the case?
  2. You might post this question on the British Isles Forum. They are very helpful. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
  3. Sorry to hear about the staffing issues. They were one of the best crews we ever had in March. They really should stagger their contracts more, to keep on more experienced crew when brand new ones come OB. Hopefully, they’ll catch on quickly. Hope the rest of your cruise goes more smoothly. Who is the DRO now?
  4. Confusing… Passengers no longer welcome in beverage stations? Is this for lunch and dinner? Am no longer roving servers for juice and coffee? How do you get juice and coffee…beverage carts going around? TIA
  5. So beverages at breakfast served in the buffet? So, how do you get coffee or juice, if no self serve? TIA
  6. Sorry you’re having such issues. If you can get on the website and see your travel summary, it will show just above your itinerary the boarding time starts….. Usually says 1230pm but, if from the US, they usually start boarding about 1100 to 1130. So go at a time convenient for you. We go early about 930 or 10 and board by 11 or so. If you have a roll call for your cruise, reach out to them to see what the travel summary says, if you can’t get it up. Good luck to you!
  7. Too much movement on top decks for me today! 🥴 It is a nice cruise, I agree.
  8. Thank you so much for the explanation. This is very interesting and I do appreciate your honesty and explanations. In the past, the crew knew if you removed the tips, just wondered if they still are advised?
  9. I haven’t. Just trying to understand the thread and how others have done this. Not sure if we will change. But a very interesting thread.
  10. We’ve done it 4 times in Oct/Nov and we must be lucky…absolutely beautiful weather. From LA and SF and a crossing to Australia.
  11. On the Sapphire, we had the house band one afternoon in the Piazza. You should have seen the people trying to get on the elevators! It was so loud, you could not even order a drink, unless you wrote a note to the bartender…🤣
  12. When do you remove it? Beginning or the end of the cruise?
  13. When do you pull the tips, 1st day or at the end? At the end, you may have credit…then do they mail a check to you? Don’t they ask why at GS? What do you say? TIA
  14. I agree. I wonder about all those behind the scenes? Would that affect their tips? Or, not make a difference? If this is true, then the people on the Standard fare, would be giving their waiters/stewards etc a huge boost of income, if you’re using the tip money for them. Our current sailings of 47 days would amount to $1504 in CA. Is this PCL’s way to ease into a AI cruiseline? Bake it into the fare or package?
  15. So, if you pulled your tips and now tip individuals, how do you know how much to give the waiter, steward, bar hostess, etc? What about the laundry employees, RS? Just seems confusing. TIA
  16. Not 1980’s, built in 2004. Yepee! Thanks for the live.
  17. That’s the big difference here. We had no escort, even through immigration and no instructions. They definitely need to improve the process.
  18. One of our favorites and loved the crew. Best crew we have had in the last year. Enjoy!
  19. Yes. The Sapphire presently has Lavazza coffee everywhere except the MDR’s. The MDR’s are powered coffee. No charge, except at the IC and delivery, unless you have a beverage package. The IC menu below is plus 18% gratuity.
  20. Must save CCL a ton of money, unless they refund you the day you are losing from drinking?
