  1. I would probably not remove the gratuity because I tip even when I shouldn't. I don't know about getting rid of people. There was one really, really poor waiter in one of the pay extra restaurants. Lots of complaints about him. When I came back on the ship for some reason I was talking to one of the crew and his name came up. He told me they had tons of complaints about him but he went home and after his contract and Hal hired him back. The crew seemed to know all about him. That can't be good for morale.
  2. That should be covered easily by the surcharge.
  3. I had HIA on my 14 day cruise ( 2 -7day). For the first week I had 7 cruise days and 7 spend days. For the second week I got 7 cruise days and 3 spend days. My spending on that cruise was about $1800 not including the HIA price. I never did max out the amount of daily drinks so I don't know if that's why my spend was so low the second week.
  4. They didn't on my cruise in November. Shorts seemed standard in a lot of cases.
  5. Is anyone saying it will affect their dinner? Hal has a dress code. If it doesn't want to enforce it then it's time to get rid of it. I don't think people need to dress like they are out at the pool. The dress code is so easy to meet yet its beyond the abilities of some. I saw several people in pajamas roaming the ship in November. That's just laziness.
  6. Yes it goes without saying I wash my hands a ton, did before the pandemic. I don’t touch my mask with dirty hands nor do I wear it on my chin 🤮. I don’t keep it in a dirty pocket either or use it 50 times.
  7. I feel I’m very meticulous on a cruise. Always mask except for eating and drinking. Wipe down my cabin, cell phone etc with Lysol wipes. Don’t go to the entertainment, didn’t before either. I haven’t got Covid on a cruise or at home ever.
  8. I can help you somewhat. They did hold it. I didn’t go so I can’t give you specifics. This was in November.
  9. I wouldn’t pay $39 to eat in the lido. I’m sure some will. I does sound good though.
  10. There is no contact. The limit is two people per regular cabana and 4 per family cabana. I guess hal thinks people will act like adults so there is the problem for some. Most people behave but I’ve seen my share of people that don’t. Usually they make short work of it but they do let people get away with much more than they should.
  11. Thank you. This is the right thing for sure and I appreciate you for doing so. To walk away thinking so not my problem is not the way to do it. People need to hold Hal’s feet to the fire because they love to gloss over issues instead of resolving them. Thank you again for your persistence.
  12. Mine didn't have anything. I found it used to be that way then it would change many times.
  13. You can show up whenever. But you may have to wait for hours. It's been saus san diego is strict and that has been my experience. If you are a 4 or 5 star you can board whenever.
  14. Mine was approximately 2 weeks before last month.
  15. It sounds like you don't really want to go that bad if you are willing to take the gamble that one may open up.
  16. Just the soda can unless you are really lucky and get the screw top.
  17. I bought a floral arrangement. It was gorgeous.
  18. You’ve captured my feelings exactly. There was a time when I would come home from a cruise and I ached to be on a ship again. Now I’m just happy to be home. I’m off at Christmas for 9 days and if someone said c’mon let’s go on a cruise while you’re off I wouldn’t bite. I would love to be out of the cold but I’m just looking forward to getting organized and ready to take on a new year.
  19. I have no cruises booked right now nor am I motivated to book any. I can’t remember any cruise that I’ve booked in the last 15 years that didn’t drop drastically. I have not booked any once a year itineraries which would definitely go up in price. I’ve heard this story before. I’ll believe it when I see it, or don’t.
  20. It was very efficient on November 26. I was in the last group to be called off. My flight wasn’t until after one so I was in no hurry. If I recall correctly I left the ship at 9. I wonder if you can mention the passenger loads going forward for any ones you know. I’m interested in hearing if the ship will be as crazy as it was for thanksgiving although I know it’s pretty early for that now. Thank you.
  21. No one is up in arms about it, unless you are speaking for yourself. In that case I would agree with that. Just because people express their feelings that doesn’t equal being up in arms.
