  1. Do whatever your doctor advises. Even if Regent required it, they would defer to a letter from your doctor stating that you should not get it. I don't know where you are in SC but there are many places to get it there including NMB, Columbia, Charleston, and many choices if you are near Charlotte. IMO, ask your doctor first. If they say NO WAY - get a letter. If they say you should get it then get it.
  2. Voyager is currently off the western coast of Turkey and all is well.
  3. I pay extra if Regent doesn't offer me the flights I want. The cost of the air is very little compared to the cost of the cruise and I want them in the boat with me if something goes wrong.
  4. I have a vested interest on a few levels so I will remain in this conversation. I am trying to get ON this cruise myself...now that some people may not show.
  5. I agree with almost all of that. However, Egypt is not in a war zone nor would Regent take passengers there is they felt it was a risk. Neither would their insurance company allow them to.
  6. If you paid extra for a specific flight and now you are getting crappy flights (Ie. flights with no surcharge) to Istanbul then I strongly suspect you will get that money back...when all is said and done.
  7. The cruise has not been cancelled. There is no claim for the cruise solely for port changes. The major insurance companies made the call to consider this a War when Netanyahu legally declared it a War. Either way, as long as the cruise is happening, I am not sure what you are going to claim. However, if you go that route, I wish you luck and hope this situation reaches a conclusion that is acceptable to you. Personally, I am calling to see if any cabins are opening up on the 10/15 Voyager cruise...I can pack in 15 minutes.
  8. They worked over the weekend and they are working ONLY on this issue today and tomorrow. Most people take Regent Air so they have a LOT of work to do. They will get it done...have a little patience. The Air Department is staffed by wonderful people.
  9. Another question is why the guests did not get Cancel For Any Reason Insurance...then they would be covered for a port change on a cruise that is still going forward.
  10. What is the exact risk of stopping in Egypt?
  11. Hopefully everyone has a TA as good as you...but these days many are like part-time realtors.
  12. Level dated June, 2023 I think. It's always iffy over there...still worth the risk IMO. I've been twice and loved it.
  13. I saw that...doesn't seem to be related and no change in threat level from the US State Department. Egypt has always been a touchy destination...some times more than others.
  14. Very interesting. Thank you. Are they officially saying this is a war based on Netanyahu's declaration? Many times they go off of the US State Department's official determination. Looks like Regent's stance is going to be that the cruise is going to continue and changes to itinerary are allowed in the contract.
  15. I see it listed both ways on their website. I am pulling a policy to see.
  16. The most common companies cover it. Allianz certainly does. Does travel insurance cover terrorist attacks? Travelers are understandably anxious about the recent uptick in terrorist incidents, particularly in Europe. While the chances of being harmed by an act of terrorism remains very low, it’s wise to check the U.S. State Department’s travel alerts and warnings for your destination and remain alert while traveling. Travel insurance does address terrorist incidents in a few important ways. Some plans — like the OneTrip Prime Plan — can consider terrorism to be a covered reason for trip cancellation if a terrorist event happens at your U.S. or foreign destination within 30 days of the day you’re scheduled to arrive. (One exception: You won’t be covered if there has been a terrorist event at your international destination generally within the 30 days before your plan's effective date.) Or, if a terrorist attack causes your airline or common carrier to cease services for 24 hours, that may be considered a covered reason for trip cancellation or interruption. If you cancel a trip only because you’re afraid a terrorist attack might occur, that cancellation wouldn’t be covered.
  17. Insurance typically covers Acts of Terrorism/War.
  18. For a guy...Soap=bodywash=shampoo=conditioner=face cleanser. Easy Peasy.
  19. I would be happy to meet him in the bar instead.....
  20. They are doing it to convert a potential sale (waitlist) to a definite sale while retaining the current sale on a different cruise. They are trying to get their occupancy numbers up as this is a big number, as is future sales %, that they report to Wall Street every quarter.
  21. So, in conclusion, Regent offers it on all cruises but the availability is very low in this one port.
