  1. It's always possible to get a PCP and your present booking could be turned over to him/her. Many people, however, simply know what they want and book directly through the website. I usually know what I want but will question our PCP about cabin location, perks, deposit, upcoming promotions. My TA, who did throw in some OBC and was very helpful for many years, passed away earlier this year. When I picked up an X PCP, I had a previously booked cruise, through my TA, and had it moved to him. I even had to remind him of veteran discount on another cruise I booked through him. Actually, if I could locate a really good TA, like my previous one, my choice would be another TA due to group bookings that they might have and any OBC they might extend to me.
  2. That's good to know. I suppose the next big issue, currently THE ISSUE on the Celebrity boards, is their "trial" period of allowing vaping in the casino on two of their ships. Over whelming response has been negative but you know the higher ups think this will draw younger clients. Of course if they think they'll be able to confine vaping to just the casinos, they really are blind. Had a friend just come off a Virgin cruise and said people were vaping all over the ship!
  3. The only four HAL ships that have non smoking casinos are: Eurodam, Westerdam, Oosterdam and Zuiderdam.
  4. We only cruise with HAL and Celebrity, Both have this charge.
  5. Guaranteed! HAL has a small casino smoking section in all but four of their ships. When entering our cabin on the Rotterdam last February, we went out on the balcony to watch others boarding the ship. When I returned around to go back into the cabin, I found a plastic Coke bottle completely full of cigarett butts shoved clear up into the corner. Needless to say the cabin attendant was embarrassed but, clearly the previous passenger in the cabin had no respect for anyone except his/her entitled self.
  6. Disembarking in Montreal (October 2024) and will spend one night there before going to airport the next day for flights home. Hotel suggestions appreciated.
  7. Disembarking in Montreal in October 2024 and will spend the night, depending on flights out the next day. Any hotel recommendations?
  8. Not really allowed, However, simply call X, push what number it says with regards to purchasing a cruise. then let them know you are seeking an X Cruise Planner. You can also call: 888-307-8413 and press #3 for a call back and assistance.
  9. You could also request a Celebrity Personal Cruise Planner. He/she will have a direct extension number to call and work with you booking a cruise and follow up items, like price drops. Our PCP at X is pretty good at returning calls in at least a day. However, as mentioned, you could also secure a travel agent, who if good, will do all this for you.
  10. And the smoke will stop when it reaches the non smoking area - just like it did when smoking was allowed on airplanes!! LOL
  11. One does have to check shore excursions for age limitations. My friend that I travel with is 90yrs young (swims 20 laps 5 days a week) but there have been several excursions that wouldn't allow him to go on and several where I was excluded too since I'm 76yrs young and only do a cardio work out 5 days a week!!
  12. As long as you or your Celebrity cruise planner or your TA has placed your DD-214 on file with X, we always get $100 military/veteran discount pp. Just rechecked and we received it for our upcoming December and February cruises since we're both veterans.
  13. Glad we have paid gratuities on our two upcoming cruises.
  14. Unfortunately, if you work with the public, you will sooner or later run into an ungrateful and usually sarcastic individual. In my 25+ yrs as an ER/Trauma RN I will always remember the "gentleman" who needed and an IV and pain medication. When I came into his cubicle, I was yelled at for not being quicker, in our 100 bed ER. I informed him of my order for IV and pain medication. He informed me that I could never get an IV placement on him because "you're only a nurse" and if I was any good at anything I would have become a doctor. He demanded anesthesia for IV placement. He reluctantly allowed me one stick, which of course went into place immediately but he told me "you're just lucky." He then started screaming as to how long it would take me to get his pain medication, which of course, I had with me and gave slowly and correctly. He informed me that I should have pushed the pain medication in quickly, which of course would have caused him to vomit! No matter where I am, on a ship or in a store or restaurant, I treat the staff/servers with the upmost respect because, they deserve it!
  15. Booked on Constellation: 2/22/2024 Booked on HAL: 12/07/2024
  16. I'm sure I'm in the minority but I have no interest in the E Class ships. Currently booked on the Silhouette and Constellation and know I'll be pleased, having cruised on both before. Actually, I don't have an additional $5K, that I'm willing to spend, just to go on an E vessel. Whichever ship you decide upon, I hope your cruise is wonderful!
  17. Unfortunately I cannot answer your question because we've only cruised on the two mentioned HAL vessels since cruising resumed. We did buy Orange Club because we loved the private dining room. The menu was the same as the MDR but with one additional main entree. Good and service was exceptional. I really don't remember any up charges on the menu.
  18. MDR food on the Statendam (12/22) and Rotterdam (2/23) was VERY good.
  19. On the Silhouette in December and Constellation in February. Perhaps by then the MRD offerings will be: hamburger, meat loaf, hot dog or Spam Filet?
  20. Just ran our 12/04/23 cruise on the Silhouette and it says no voyage exists!! LOL
  21. Took my first cruise when I was 55yrs old, on Carnival. Loved it and did 11 more cruises with Carnival including the W. and E. Mediterranean. I actually still have all twelve Carnival pins that they gave out with each ships name on it. Of course, by then, I was in my early sixties so I tried X, HAL, Windstar and Viking Ocean. Loved the more relaxed and calm atmosphere and enjoyed the more mature fellow passengers. I guess for me, Carnival is fine, but now at age 76yrs, I don't need constant announcements telling me to "go have fun!" My fun is sometimes just sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoying the phenomenal ocean sights. I do agree however, as others have mentioned, Carnival usually wins when it comes to price especially since post pandemic prices on X. HAL has also kept their prices more reasonable too.
  22. Is Corporate Celebrity watching and listening to Cruise Critic? NO! They're trying to save their jobs.
  23. Seems that it is Celebrity that is having ongoing trouble with Norovirus. However, the lack of adequate hand washing has always been a people problem on cruise ships!!
  24. Venture Ashore or Viator
