  1. And I just checked my booking and they dropped the word Signature from it: DETAILS Stateroom:Suite, 16xxx, Category S9
  2. I watched a video the other day that showed the menu for drinks up there and they were not free. It was that Ben and David channel (I don't love it, but the ship was very relevant).
  3. I hope this is true in the Caribbean. (That not many will buy it) I know on NCL they get $250 for the adult only vibe area and it is sold out on every ship every sailing (but that is for the week). Thanks for all the info you have shared.
  4. So this sounds less and less like ship within a ship. You are telling me anyone onboard can go to the suite sun deck by simply paying a fee for a day or week? Just trying to understand as this is a new concept and of course I have not sailed Princess in a long time (and not in a suite).
  5. @Sox Fan Cruiser thanks for starting this, ignore the folks that say we are taking parts of the ship away from them (behind the locked door), you get them on every line. I am booked for Sun Princess in Jan 2025, I wanted them to have a full year to work out the kinks. I am a regular Haven sailor (NCL) and have YC (MSC) booked as well. Other then you list that I saw, I was hoping to find out: These are room related, which I didn't see as a subsection on your list yet 1. Is the mini bar included with your room or a la cart? 2. What types of snacks do you get in the room each day, and can you request snacks? 3. What are the branded items in the bathroom? Restaurant: 1. Is the menu static or rotating? If static does the chef do one special a night (since it is a la cart style, I wonder if the chef can riff) ? Thanks!
  6. @HBCcruiser This is not making me confident..... They need to get their ducks in a row.
  7. Do you change which Wineries you visit or do you have a set of favorites?
  8. So, the last time we sailed I told them I don't like the new wings, because I like them naked (no sauce) and they were still spicy. I got lucky and the manager at that time was one of the Haven restaurant folks and came out and told me they marinate all day in some type of pepper sauce. If you tell them you can't have that, they will (or did for me) go get fresh chicken wings and cook them. They were the way I remember them when we loved them. Of course, they took over 30 minutes to come. LOL
  9. Left in the important bits (on quoting you). Different strokes for different folks for us as well. When I started in my industry I was forced to wear 3 piece suits even though I was working under raised floors and in computer cabinets all day. I own a nice tux, it fits me well, I hate to wear it. My goal in life is mainly to be comfy and never dress up if I can avoid it. Like I said, we have different thoughts on it, so no worries, but this is exactly why I would never sail Cunard. I want to do a transatlantic, but they need to accept me and my shorts or we won't have a nice time. :D I am glad their are lines for both of us! That is what is great about cruising, there is a line for everyone, we just need to seek them out.
  10. Was this "Mary" cute, and did she have an upside down pineapple on her door? LOL
  11. Those are happy documentaries, I think she mentioned "for not good reasons" as part of the documentary she was referring to.
  12. For us it's would be cheating to find out about other ship within a ship concepts. So basically, Celebrity Edge class, the new Princess ship, MSC YC, etc. We are already planned out on a couple of them.
  13. She was going WAY above and beyond, I hope she got a hero card and a nice tip from you that night. What an amazing thing she did for you and your husband.
  14. While I understand why people will consider this a joke it just shows once again why no matter your age you should ALWAYS have travel insurance. Prime example right here.
  15. Well during those promos, expect many families to book. That is how I think NCL gets it mix of families up so high during the school breaks. The lines are smart to do this, as the kids add more spend onboard for them.
  16. Yup, this is a nod to families, but let's be honest, until they do kids free or 3rd and 4th free like other lines do I don't think die hard Princess folks have to worry that much. :)
  17. For me it's a learning thing, I went on one disappointing Princess cruise in 2007. This is the redemption story. I am a haven person that goes on NCL all the time. i want to see how the new Signature Suites will compare. I figured waiting a year would give me time to research what I can and can't do compered to what I am used to getting in my usual sailings. :)
  18. There is a reason I booked for Jan of 25, a good 10 months of reviews, you tube videos, etc. I should be set. :)
  19. I still think they all offer the same food and the difference is the level of dress you want to do, and if you want a fixed dining time or to come and go as you wish (reserve when you get onboard). Of course, this is just my guess.
  20. Honestly this is like judging RCCL on Grandeur. You can do it, but you really have no idea what the line is like based on the ship you were on. Sorry, but the ship does matter.
  21. @Sailing12Away add to the list of just before bar closing shots?? :D
  22. Agree, the way they are run flat is the sidewall is hard as a rock, they sacrifice road feel and comfort to be able to be run flat.
  23. The worst part was how the entire cruise (including us) all basically got colds/crud from that day. People look at me weird when I tell them the worst weather I ever had getting on a ship was in LA. Supposed to only be sunny there I guess. LOL
  24. I do love me a small pretzel bite with my beer. :) Did he get a stout or porter?
  25. Really expensive and with the other options my guess is it will be empty most nights. Also, with it's proximity to the signature area, why is THIS spot not the Signature suite restaurant? I don't think they entirely figured out the ship within a ship concept just yet. All that said I am booked on her in just over one years time and I look forward to see how she compares to the Haven.
