  1. Room service takes care of it now. Just phone and let them know what items you want them to take and what we would like in exchange
  2. I was a loyal Celebrity cruiser until 2019 when I tried Princess for an Iceland and Norway cruise. At that time, I would have said Celebrity had much better food, but not any more. Princess has improved a lot and my last three cruises on Celebrity had very unimpressive meals. I think that the cabins on the Summit are fine but nothing special although I always liked the Sweet 16 balconies. On the Sapphire Princess, the extra-deep, half-covered balconies on Caribe deck are my favorite. They are twice the size of other balconies. Celebity’s big advantage for me is the non-smoking casino. For a short cruise it won’t be much of an issue but Princess has self-service laundry and very large closets that are a huge advantage on longer trips or if you’re bringing a lot of sports equipment like golf clubs or scuba gear. In general, I think Celebrity and Princess are more alike than different. Were Elite on both lines and I base my decision on itinerary first, then cabin availability and total cost including drinks, gratuities and internet.
  3. Finding dining companions on your roll call is a great idea! My one comment though is that walking straight in isn’t a good idea unless you eat right when the MDR opens. In my experience the hostess always prefers to let us know that our table is ready. There’s no telling if the people ahead of us might have taken a bit longer than normal to finish their meal.
  4. It’s possible that they just didn’t have any others waiting to share at the moment. If there’s no line-up of people outside the door, they’d have to have you wait till others came along. My guess is that their priority is to just get everyone seated. Sharing seems to work best when there’s a crowd waiting to get into the MDR.
  5. In my area $80 is the going rate for a 60 minute massage. I find the rates at resorts and on cruise ships not worth it. The massages are rarely as good as, much less better than, what I get at home. I switched from massages being an occasional treat while I am on vacation years ago. I get 90 minute deep tissue massages every four weeks at home and get much more benefit.
  6. Interesting! Verizon says you have to be using one of their data plans to use a mobile hotspot so I thought it was true for all phones with them.
  7. Not all cell phone providers will though. Verizon users need to be connected to cell service to use a hotspot.
  8. In my opinion it does make a difference. A staff person accepting an invitation to join passengers in their cabin may be a violation of employment protocol. If he followed them or somehow tracked them to their cabin, it’s much more worrisome. You are welcome to your own opinion of course.
  9. I’d like to know how he ended up in their room after they left the casino. Did one of the group invite him to come with them or did he ask if he could go with them or did he just show up after they were there?
  10. If I’m paying a discounted rate or have a gift certificate, I always add to the gratuity to at least bring it back to the gratuity on the normal price
  11. I’d also want to make sure that I have documentation if a bill appears for the medical treatment.
  12. You and someone else in your party can each make a reservation for a table for 6 at the same time each night in the app. You can’t request tables next to each other ahead of time but you can make that request of the dining room manager or hostess once you are onboard. It may only be impossible though on the first night depending on the time you request. Stopping by early for example, with a request for 8:00 is more likely than finding availability of two large tables next to each other on the spot.
  13. I stay logged in and haven’t had it pop up using Safari on my phone
  14. I think people who are disappointed are much more likely to leave a review than those who got exactly what they expected and enjoyed it. My guess is that the vast majority of people are perfectly satisfied with their cruises, but didn’t have an experience that was so exceptionally good that they write a review. Making comments in a forum you frequent takes much less effort.
  15. I’ve seen people weighed for helicopter tours and horseback/mule rides.
  16. I like the deeper balconies on the hump for the shade. I’d pick that every time.
  17. On my current cruise that visited Princess Cays on the second day, the following day was a sea day and the first formal night. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the ship’s schedule under “Journey” in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise.
  18. If you’ve asked for that, it’s great.
  19. In my experience it depends. I’ve seen it allowed, but they were very strict in the tiny ports in Greenland about only allowing Elites to access the tenders from the lounge. It’s probably more likely in a place like Princess Cays or Belize where they are running large tenders as opposed to smaller ports. We generally just get in line for tickets when we travel with people who are not Elite.
  20. Two plus cruise packages can be a better value at $120 per day than a stand alone plus drink package for the adult ($76) , wi-fi ($24.99 for one device) and crew appreciation for two. ($36).
  21. There’s no sight quite as sweet as seeing those little faces peering at you first thing in the morning!
  22. The terminal is closed until noon today due to a Coast Guard inspection
  23. The terminal building is scheduled to open at 12:00 today due to a Coast Guard inspection
  24. I find it’s more convenient to just park offsite in that situation. I use Park By the Ports. You can save a bit by using One Stop Parking to book https://www.parkbytheports.com/ https://onestopparking.com
  25. You can see which nights are scheduled as formal nights in the ship’s schedule under “Journey” in the app. Every evening will show either “casual” or “formal” portraits. You can also see when the champagne waterfall is scheduled as an indication. I’ve seen it populate as much as a couple of months before a cruise. Formal nights are never on the first or last night and are usually, but not always, on sea days.
