  1. The terminal building typically opens for check-in between 10:00 and 10:15.
  2. The requested dress code is long pants (including jeans) and shirts with a collar for men. No one can predict whether the no shorts policy will be enforced on any ship on any given night. Some dining room managers allow shorts, some do not. If eating in the MDR is important to them, they should be sure to pack pants. https://www.princess.com/en-us/faq/pre-cruise
  3. If you know that you want that opportunity and that availability is limited, why wouldn’t you book it? You can always cancel if you cancel the cruise or change your mind.
  4. It’s important to note though that there may be additional requirements imposed by cruise lines. For example, many passengers have been caught unaware that Princess requires everyone in the travel party to have a passport if only one adult is traveling with one or more minors. This is true for all itineraries. You can find Princess’ document requirements here https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/pre-cruise/prepare-for-your-cruise
  5. If they end up visiting the Sagrada Familia and eating lunch there I’ll ask what they think.
  6. There aren’t a lot of good choices in that area. Like all major tourist attractions, there are lots of not great options.I’d probably still try it.
  7. I don’t think I’ll be in that neighborhood next time I’m in Barcelona but I appreciate the update. Do you have any more current suggestions close to the Sagrada Familia?
  8. I’ve spent a great deal of time in Barcelona. If it helps I just put together this suggested itinerary for a friend spending two and a half days in Barcelona before a cruise. If you want to make the most of your first day you might want to try booking a private tour with airport pickup and hotel drop-off. It works for me so that I can keep moving but not have to figure anything out for myself when I’m jet-lagged. I suggested to them that I’d just eat an early dinner at the rooftop restaurant at their hotel the first night and get to bed as early as possible.
  9. Look at your travel summary. The passport requirements for your itinerary appear under the Important Notices section. That is the straight answer. Hopefully you can get a new passport in time!
  10. I’ve seen the no shorts rule enforced by some dining room managers.
  11. As long as you meet the minimum standard for Smart Casual, you will be able to eat in the MDR on any evening. https://www.princess.com/en-us/faq/pre-cruise
  12. On the sailing leaving today, the second formal night is Day 8 when we are in St, Thomas until 4 pm. We are in Grand Turk until 7 pm on Day 9 and Dominica until 4 pm on Day 7. If you don’t want to wait until you see which night shows as the formal night in the app, I’d bet on day 9 for your sailing.
  13. In my experience more people comply with the requested dress code for formal nights on Asian and European itineraries than on Caribbean, Nirth American or Australian. You won’t feel uncomfortable if you choose to dress up
  14. Which port? What time do you sail? The check-in time will appear on the app. Check-in usually begins at least 5 hours before sailing. You receive notification of changes to the scheduled check-in times by email if there are last minute updates. You can also enable notifications by text in the app.
  15. Yes, they usually have them
  16. That I can’t explain. It’s definitely a problem, but if they probably won’t be able to reconfigure the tables in time to help you on this cruise. I can only make one suggestion that might help now. Did you try asking about different dining rooms? I know I’ve sometimes heard hostesses and dining room managers tell people who are waiting that they could be seated right away if they are willing to do to a different MDR.
  17. I recommend Rome Cabs if you want a private transfer from the port. https://www.romecabs.com/transferservice/civitavecchia/ You might try City Wonders for some easy city tours . As an example, I just suggested to a relative visiting pre-cruise for the first time that if they want to see the highlights in 2 days - do the Colosseum tour with arena floor access on the first afternoon, the Vatican with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s the next morning and the Best of Rome Walking tour that afternoon. They are staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti which is very near the Colosseum. https://citywonders.com/rome-tours?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw48-vBhBbEiwAzqrZVBR5ZQMXyJSzjAXk98WE0Nf-AE0irOqpFYKeWw9euE9kvyGgMP95xBoC-08QAvD_BwE
  18. Are you saying that they refused to let you wait for a table for two and said you had to share, or that you didn’t want to wait until a table for two was available? Maybe you could ask if there is more availability in a different MDR? We’ve never had any trouble getting a reserved table for two but we usually book at 7:00 or 7:20. 6:00 is probably a busier time as the people who arrive when the MDR opens are usually still eating. My guess is they are seating people who arrive ahead of you or who have earlier reservations.
  19. If you want to offer a tip to your guides and don’t have local currency, most are happy to accept US dollars or Euros since they are relatively easy to exchange.
  20. We were on the Enchanted for 2 sailings in the Mediterranean last spring and are have been onboard since February 26. I have no complaints at all with the food in the MDR. The food there on this sailing is the best I’ve had on a Princess ship. The friends traveling with us agreed that this cruise was an improvement over the last, which was absolutely fine. It is MDR food on a large ship, but with that in mind, they do a great job. The service has been exceptional. We do use the buffet for breakfast and lunch sometimes. I think it’s very good in terms of variety and quality. The only orders I’ve placed with the app have been for coffee in the morning and it’s arrived in our cabin surprisingly quickly. It was just over 5 minutes a couple of days ago. Service at the bars has been fine but Crooners can be a bit crowded right before dinner when I try to get a glass of wine to bring in to dinner. The one thing I dislike about the Enchanted is the lack of Vines. We don’t go to the production shows but have enjoyed most of the comedians we’ve seen and especially like the jazz in Take 5. The music everywhere else has varied from an incredible Latin dance band and guitarist on some segments to okay duos but I think there’s usually something for everyone. The ship is clean and I’ve seen no issues with maintenance. I hope you enjoy your cruise!!!
  21. I see $84 as the value of two specialty dinners on my travel summary for an upcoming cruise. We’re booked for 2 people on the Enchanted.
  22. I think there’s a kernel of truth in all cliches. In this case it’s, “you only get one chance to make a first impression”. Never giving anything that you didn’t like much the first time a second chance can really limit your options. As much as you weren’t impressed with your experience, I think trying another Princess cruise is worth it, especially since you got a great deal on an itinerary that interests you.
  23. As I shared earlier, my travel summary for an itinerary including Belize and Honduras shows that they don’t require passports. While I personally wouldn’t travel without one, Princess will allow travel with WHTI compliant documents on this itinerary
