  1. Yes. But do they go non-smoking on the voyage that ends in Australia or not until the first itinerary that sails from Australia? @Thrak mentioned his 63 days which made me think the casino may have been smoke free even on the way to Australia.
  2. I’m curious. At what point did they make the change?
  3. I’ve seen it on another ship but I don’t think it’s something that can be predicted
  4. Happy birthday! Hope your day was fantastic. So appreciate all you contribute!
  5. There’s no indoor smoking on any sailing from Australia or New Zealand. It’s been that way for quite a while.
  6. We did Norway and Iceland in 2019 and were on the cruise to Greenland from NU this past August. All three were fantastic but for me, the standouts were Norway and Greenland. The Norwegian fjords are stunning but the icebergs in Greenland took my breath away. It was something truly unique for me. Iceland was beautiful and fascinating from a geological perspective. I can only speak from my own experience but I was happy with both itineraries and feel all three were well worth the trip. Are you interested in seeing Iceland and Greenland separately? Have you been to the Canadian ports on a Greenland cruise from the US? Have you been to Norway? Combining that with Iceland might limit sea days. It is important to be aware that Greenland ports are often missed due to weather.
  7. What age group do you notice wearing outfits that are too casual for the MDR? I feel like I see many more people in their 50’s and 60’s, particularly men, who go beyond just choosing not to comply with the requested dress code and look like they are going to clean their garage.
  8. I can remember renting them for my teenage sons on a Celebrity cruise around 2000. It was really convenient. As adults today, I’m pretty sure they won’t ever see a reason to own a tuxedo
  9. There is a limit to how much OBC you can purchase ahead of time, but you can make payments to your onboard account using gift cards at the passenger services desk once you’re on the ship.
  10. I wasn’t cruising Princess 40 years ago, but I can’t recall seeing anyone without at least a suit and tie on formal night even on Carnival in the 80’s. Celebrity was the same at least until the early 2000’s. Times have changed and so has the attitude toward cruising. As it’s gotten much cheaper and less of a luxury, it’s also gotten more casual. Air travel is similar. Seeing formal wear on cruises out of US ports effectively ended when cruise lines stopped offering tuxedo rentals. I think that was at least 10 years ago.
  11. Ties are not required. Feel free to skip it
  12. You’re right, US citizens born in the United States can use a birth certificate as proof of citizenship. That isn’t true for all US citizens though. Princess also has some specific rules requiring passports for an individual adults traveling with minors. It’s important to check document requirements.
  13. Your birth certificate, assuming it’s from a location in the United Stares, is proof of citizenship. US citizens born outside the US would need a different document. You can see Princess’s document requirements here https://www.princess.com/learn/faq/pre-cruise/prepare-for-your-cruise
  14. Proof of citizenship is always required. Unless it is an enhanced DL, proving you are licensed to drive will not get you onto the ship.
  15. So frustrating! I’ve never asked for an upgraded cabin to be changed without just being moved immediately. I’ve looked online and have picked the one I want before calling the two times I’ve asked to move. In both cases, the answer was, “Yes, it’s available. I can move you”. This is a great warning not to proceed if the process the agent says they will follow is “filling out a form”
  16. I’m curious. When you chatted with them them did you ask to be moved to a specific cabin or just ask to change cabins?
  17. It can be used for any charges to your room, including casino charges and crew appreciation
  18. There has been no change to the stated policy of “no shorts” in the MDR at dinner. No one can predict whether the policy will be enforced on any ship on any given night. It is often ignored but there are dining room managers who will turn people away
  19. Yes, you could order pretty much any room service item for delivery to your room using Ocean Now.
  20. Yes, you can order from any of the 4 menus in all of the dining rooms
  21. I’ve had no problems with reservations made for E class ships. They worked just fine.
  22. Good point. Then it goes back to being all about the wine 😎
  23. Entry is automatic. The casino manager mentioned it but there might have been a “You won” notification on the door panel. Knowing that would require actually remembering to look at the door panel though. We are failures 😞
  24. For me, it’s all about the wine cost. If you normally have three $22 glasses a day, it’s probably worth it. If you normally drink beer or cocktails, maybe not. I think a lot also can depend on the length of the cruise. We just had a 4 night leg between two14 day itineraries on a B2B2B The $80 each value was there just for the two specialty dinners if that’s something you might want to do. For that cruise, we’d have been crazy not to get it
  25. We won a 7 day cruise last week 😎I believe entry without the Premier package is $20 per day on all cruises billed in USD. Not sure about AUD. I wouldn’t pay to enter
