  1. Reading your response to my post made me realize I was a victim of auto correct and my post has Sympathy instead or Symphony. Or maybe I had a typo....whoopsie
  2. As your cruise has a port stop all but 1 day will you be getting off the ship at every stop? Will you be able to access internet from your phone while in ports of Europe? i.e. Verizon offers $10 day travel pass If yes, then are you okay with no internet while onboard the ship during the evenings? You could use your one day D freebie on your sea day.
  3. Both DH and I are prime and D+ and haven't bought a drink pkg in 6 or 7 years. We used to always bring bottles of wine but rarely bother bringing anymore. We also stock up on bottled water from the casino. We use our D+ vouchers during the day while at the pool or Happy Hour. There have been plenty of times of where I simply stop in the casino (when open for gambling) and pick up a drink to take to dinner or wherever I am headed and do not gamble a dime. Of course, I will end back at the casino later in the night. IMO not worth drink pkg for night 1 when you can use your 5 vouchers, stop by the casino for a freebie or buy beer as you go. When docked in Nassau if getting off the ship and headed somewhere on land for the day, probably not worth having the pkg for that day. Another suggestion would be buy your beer (or bucket of beer at the pool) and use the D+ vouchers for the $14 cocktails. Then if you run out of drinks by nighttime simply drop by the casino bar. As you said it is a freebie cruise, so do as you wish it's your vacation! Enjoy!
  4. @ValerieJo We knew he definitely did not want the HMO plan. He sees a couple different doctors with being a transplant recepient so we figured it would be a hassle to get referrals. The Aetna PPO plan has worked well so far. I'll keep you posted if we run into any snags. Stay Well!
  5. I suspect Sympathy OTS is rocking and rolling today because of Ernesto. They are due to arrive at Cape Liberty, NJ tomorrow morning.
  6. Congrats on booking the last spot on the Athens excursion! We love Bermuda in September/October. Still sad I had to cancel our Sept 19th bermuda cruise due to a work conflict. I hope you love the island as much as we do!
  7. We love Deck 6 on Anthem. Great location to use the steps to deck 4 or 5 for royal esplanade and MDR. Most of the obstructed OVB's we have had on Anthem were considered obstructed because you could not look straight down to the ocean but had full view when looking forward. You should be able to google your cabin number for photos to find out what type of obstruction to expect. If your cabin is aft and you walk to the end of the aft hallway there is a secret door to the 270 theater, library and computer room. Great way to get the 270 cafe too.
  8. love your view! I think I would be getting a nice patio set with a sofa or large comfy chair and be spending a lot of time on that patio with those beautiful views. Enjoy! I was thinking of you last night as I couldn't remember if your Bermuda was coming up soon. At least Ernesto dropped down to a Cat 1 Hurricane. I have been to Bermuda right before and right after a Hurricane and they usually fare pretty well.
  9. Sorry for your loss Sue. May he RIP 🙏 Congratulation on your upgrade. From what I recall on Serenade the obstructed balconies are only a partial obstruction. I don't think there are any bad balcony cabins. The Canaries and Madeira sailings are on my must do list.
  10. When Eva was younger she used to take items off my bedroom bureau or bathroom vanity (such as rings, earrings - basically anything shiny) and put in my shoes. At least I knew where to look when something was missing.
  11. Now I'm worried. When Eric became eligible for medicare this past March he selected a Medicare Advantage PPO plan thru Aetna to cover part C & D. To date, he has had no issues with any of his specialty meds and all his doctors (transplant, primary and eye doc) have been part of their network and co-pays have been the same or less than what he paid when he with BCBS thru employer plan. There was one medication that Aetna rejected when we went to refill in April but then his doctor stepped in advising Aetna that he is a transplant recipient and it has been covered at a cost of $0.10 for a 90-day supply since April. Fingers crossed we don't run into any future problems with the advantage plan.
  12. It is free on port days. On a sailing on Anthem I booked via the App once I was onboard. The free time slots fill up fast but you can go up to that area and ask to be put on wait list. That's how Anthem handled on one of my sailings. It's common to have people book and be no shows.
  13. Your question may be better for the casino forum on CC. I have never seen certificates modified after issued. It is very common to see black out dates for holiday cruises.
  14. This ship class will only have chops, giovannis and Izumi so in my opinion the UDP is not needed. How many sea days do you have for lunches with the udp? We usually enjoy the 3 night dining pkg. Giovannis is our preferred. You can always cancel your pkg on cruise planner. Your cruise, your choice.
  15. Specialty restaurants such as Chops usually have a special menu. We have sailed out of NJ many times during the winter and have had lots of different weather. Just like anywhere, impossible to predict. Odyssey does have a nice solarium for chilly days you will have at beginning and end of the cruise. Hope you have lots of fun.
  16. Here in PA I had my learners permit about 3 mos. before my 16th birthday. If I remember correctly I had to have an adult with me until I had full license at 16. I had taken a Driver's Ed course and drove myself with the teacher (retired Police Sargeant) and 2 other students to get our licenses. I had bought my 1st car right before getting my permit. Those were the days😄
