Trouble Buying Coco Cay Excursion
Sunshine3601 replied to gloriason's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You can call to book excursions. I think they have an option to press for excursions. -
Safety of cell phone by pool
Sunshine3601 replied to kibutzer's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I carry a small backpack with sunscreen, cell phone, brush, book and glasses to the pool. Never had a problem. I wouldn't recommend just leaving a phone sit on lounger out in the open. Getting a glass of ice water is easy, waiters can bring to you or get yourself at any bar, no problem. -
I couldn't find prices on their website. Any idea how much to rent golf cart for the day?

$79 pp for CocoCay beach club a decent price?
Sunshine3601 replied to coaster's topic in Royal Caribbean International
$3799 for overwater cabana is crazy high, IMO. This serenade sailing is selling for $1199 with other cabanas at $799 to $999. -
10 weeks...Woot Woot! That will be awesome. The most we have done is 4 weeks and it was really rough to come back home and get back to a daily routine of work, cooking, cleaning. 10 weeks would have me so relaxed and spoiled I would have to bring home at least one or two crew members to help get me back into my groove😁

We are on Anthem 12.04 sailing and plan on doing just as you said. We enjoy South Beach or chill island and prefer the snack shack with their funnel cakes, etc. Over the buffet. There are lots of nice free areas. -

We had this back in 2020 for something like $45 on sale. We loved the area but said we would never pay more than $60 or $70 to return to the beach club. I just booked at this price. Worst case we change our minds and cancel it, we have till next September to decide.😀 @sgmn might want to book if this intetests you and Gary. -

That's a great price! My other future sailings all have it listed for $175:to $245 pp. I'm on that Serenade report sailing and will definitely check that out. Thank you! -
Health questionaire question
Sunshine3601 replied to Illbcruzn4life's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I believe they have stopped asking those questions sometime in August. We were not asked anything (other than the 3 questions on the app) on our cruise last month. -
It is so very odd that your invoice states final payment date of october 7th for a sailing on december 24th. Your final payment date should have been Sunday September 25th. Sounds like your reservation was messed up from day 1. did you book direct with royal by phone or online?

any damage done to Coco Cay from current hurricanes?
Sunshine3601 replied to robenv's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No damage done by Ian or Fiona. Neither of them were close enough to the Bahamas to do any damage. -
+1 - exactly what do too

I agree with your logic. After a disaster of this size insurance adjusters are not going to get to every home and they don't expect everyone to be sitting at their home to meet with them. I would file the claim and make sure I had phone and email access to stay in touch while onboard the ship. There really isn't much that can be done sitting at home. From the sounds of the damage, she probably has to find temporary housing anyway. Getting pampered on a ship sounds much better than sitting in a hotel or at a friends house waiting for a call from an ins. rep and contractor(s). I know from experience with SuperStorm Sandy when it hit our home on the island of LBI NJ, it took while over 30-days before an insurance person came to see our house that was a full gut inside and out. The home stunk with couple feet of sand inside and dead fish, mold growing everywhere, looting of people's copper pipes, etc. was happening until the National Guard stepped in to control who visited the island. It tooks weeks for the insurance people to even get back to me with their assessment of the damage. Then weeks before a contractor could even look at the home. The entire process was about 9 to 10 months before the house was repaired and I was one of the lucky ones. Some fought with insurance companies for over a year. If she wants to stay home and cancel the cruise in its entirety her TA that booked the cruise will be the only person Royal will speak with at this stage. The other option is for her to email mbayley@rccl.com and explain her situation. Royal is usually compassionate towards people involved in these types of storms. Whatever she decides I wish her the best with her home and thankful to hear she is okay.
