  1. Thanks for the very nice review. Other cruisers recently on Infinity have commented on some of her maintenance issues too. I have not seen these type of comments about Constellation which also has not been updated with the major Revolution renovations. People seem to be happy with Millie and Summit.
  2. I have never known a Butler to need a written list. They remember everything. If you are in a premium suite you will get a call from the Retreat shoreside concierge where you can make your requests.
  3. Beyond if you want to try something different as you have been on Reflection several times and her sister ships. But no question, choose Reflection if you want a traditional balcony as others have stated vs the IV. Beyond does have the Aqua Sky Suite for probably a lot more money, or maybe a regular sky suite. Maybe worth it to be in the Retreat for such a long cruise! If you choose Beyond in a regular cabin you can see if you can get a Sunset Veranda which has a real traditional balcony. They are aft at the very back of the ship if you look at deck plans. Maybe less expensive than Aqua class.
  4. @zitsky How far in advance of your cruise? Still time to cancel or re-book at the higher price? Or find something else to your liking? Is this common you ask? In general-no. This has happened to me a few times. But mostly after I boarded and there was a reason (weather, rough seas, etc.). When it happened in advance of the cruise I always got a refund. I typically these days do not do Celebrity excursions and find a private one with a few people (usually from my Roll Call). I am done with a bus full of people on excursions (even before COVID).
  5. It is great to hear that you truly enjoyed your cruise on APEX. Your review will certainly annoy some of the more negative posters here - but that is a really good thing!😀
  6. We did Sept 2019 too I think. Maybe the same cruise?
  7. Yes I think we had a Sky suite for that cruise mid-ship with the large balcony.
  8. Celebrity needs to follow RCCL ships and put a decent burger place on their ships. RCCL has Johnny Rockets.
  9. Definitely would not miss a tour or change itinerary for what Celebrity calls lobster tail. Go into a restaurant that night in Victoria and order real lobster!
  10. A couple of years back we took Summit out of Port Liberty NJ round trip to Quebec and back. About two weeks. Visited the Canadian Maritimes and Maine. Overnight in Quebec City. A great itinerary and cruise!
  11. Thank you! That helps a lot!😀
  12. There is not a good burger (no charge) anywhere on a Celebrity ship on most days. Sometimes the MDR has them on the lunch menu but not too often. The OVC lunch buffet usually does not have them either. Yes there is Luminae but that doesn't count. Neither do the burgers that you pay for in specialty dining like Lawn Club.
  13. No we have not tried HAL yet. But definitely we will seriously consider them at this point. What type of cabin do you sail? What is their equivalent of a Sky Suite?
  14. I will check them out. Thanks!
  15. Yeah I figured! Lol. Believe me I wish the next Celebrity ships had at least a mixture of IVs and traditional. But I am happy with S Class and M Class. Hopefully they will not sell them.
  16. I think they did this on the Titanic.
  17. I would not sail an IV, but I am one person posting here. And in fact have never sailed in one so I don't count. But IV haters? Honestly, I don't see how you can really prove this. A lot of people here on CC really like the IV and offer very positive reviews. Or there are neutral people too - but not in the category of haters. Yes some negative posts and haters. But in Real Life? Have you seen a poll by Celebrity or the travel/cruise industry on this? There is just one over-riding observation. Celebrity keeps building the E-ships and keeps selling them out. There are thousands of people per ship and per cruise spending money for IV's. Even if you hate them. Or even if I would not sail in them. No matter. The numbers (and profits) speak for themselves.
  18. I was under the impression that ICON had a few of these but not the entire ship- which has mostly traditional balconies. Not sure about World Europa but it seems only a few of these too. W Europa looks like a homely version of Oasis Class on RCCL. Only E-Class is pretty much all IV's.
  19. Yes so true! We went last in July and it was very warm the entire trip!
  20. 5 Celebrity ships with the IV's so they will be around for decades. It is interesting that other cruise lines have not adopted the IV concept for their new builds. Yet.
  21. So if you are in an Aqua Sky Suite, is your assigned restaurant Luminae or Blu? Or both equally? In other suites, the Aqua passengers get preference over the suite passengers in Blu particularly at peak times.
  22. OK but who cares about CC where the experienced cruiser most definitely has a preference for a traditional balcony. If they are selling out E-Class ships and Infinite Verandas, that is all they care about and all the proof they need.
  23. A few years back on an RCCL cruise we were on, there was an all-out brawl on board. The next morning at the next port, 8 people were walked off the ship. And some had families with them.
