  1. I had Starlink premium on Equinox in January in the Caribbean. It was the most reliable and fastest WiFi that I have ever experienced on a ship. No problem with streaming at all.
  2. Have you checked into the at-home INR test device? Finger ***** for a drop of blood, like a blood sugar test. Insurance might cover the cost of your own device.
  3. If you get the premium WiFi it is definitely fast and reliable (most times). Many others have complained about the standard WiFi even with Starlink. It seems they limit it on bandwidth and download/upload speed. The premium will have far less users in general.
  4. With all the cruising we have done over a lifetime, this quote also directly applies to us - no matter the cruiseline!
  5. Do they have lobster-flavored lip balm? Do they charge extra for a second tube?
  6. If I were taking 30-something family members on their first cruise I would also choose an E-Class ship.
  7. Sorry I meant Millennium Class (M-Class). I know the OP is going on Infinity. My same comments apply across all M-Class ships.
  8. In fact the vast majority of posters here do book the general population cabins. A great deal of the ship is open to you to enjoy. The Suite-only areas on Millennium are scattered around the ship. You will not be able to use Luminae (suite restaurant) and the Retreat Lounge or Retreat Sundeck. You will not be able to use Blu (Aqua restaurant). The vast majority of passengers are not in suites or Aqua. Enjoy your cruise. Santorini is special! Happy marriage!
  9. Your specific cruise or ports might require proof - so check that out first. Most do not require anything these days. I have photos of my vaccine cards and doses/dates on my iPhone if I need them. But I have never been asked.
  10. Try discussing on your roll call. Also look at sites like Trip Advisor. And excursions do not necessarily have to be from Celebrity. If you find an excursion from a specific company at the ports you are visiting, there might be a lot of reviews that might be helpful.
  11. Why do you say 50 and up? I think anybody over 30 is more the case.
  12. As you stated you love balconies, and have not cruised in a suite, you enjoy Equinox (or maybe try her sister S-class ships). You might like M-Class but they are a bit smaller with less specialty dining, but real balconies. If you do try E-class, there are a few non-suite cabins with balconies aft called Sunset Verandas. Enjoy your cruises! We were recently on Equinox.
  13. Yeah I guess I was thinking "experienced" cruisers are the older ones with previous cruising on M-Class and S-Class (or Century class) before the Edge was a dream in LLP's mind. I know that some much younger cruisers (like my 30-somthing kids) went on many cruises with us back in the day so they can do their own comparison. But we usually took them on RCCL, not Celebrity, because they were kids! LOL.
  14. Thanks. I priced out the lowest membership (annual) at $425. More than GeoBlue Trekker ($250), which offers a global health network and evacuation. People should evaluate both perhaps and decide. I don't think that I personally would purchase both unless I traveled extensively.
  15. Here are my thoughts distilled down. Agree with me or not but it is my take on Celebrity cruisers from reading many threads and posts here on CC. If you are older (above the Celebrity-targeted demographic) you might prefer S- or M-Class and a real balcony. I know that Infinite verandas have some fans too of course. At any age, if you sail in suites, you will likely love E-Class.
  16. What was her primary insurance? They would come into this before GeoBlue. Same with MedJet I believe. It goes to the primary insurance first.
  17. Spif- I did not say "cast aside". In fact I enjoy E-Class ships too. But I think they are being built for the next generation of cruising. I will come along for the ride, but I like S- Class and M- Class better as a personal choice. Others dislike E-class and there are lots of threads and comments on this topic. X still wants me because I spend a lot of money and mostly sail in suites. I'm not so convinced that they want E, E+ and Z cruisers in lower priced categories and have to pay out perks. But just my opinion.
  18. hmmm.... sounds like you have experience with this.
  19. HAL does lean toward the older cruising clientele. As for Celebrity, some of us long time (and older!) cruisers (like me) are not the highest priority for them anymore. We need to just accept that or move elsewhere (like to HAL). Sure they will still take our money. But why pay out perks for Elite and above when they can attract younger people just starting to cruise and just starting to get hooked on their CC Loyalty program? And stay in suites. That is their economic future. You need to look no further than the 3 Edge class ships sailing, and soon followed by Ascent. And then a 5th one in the works. Most, but not all, of us more seasoned Celebrity cruisers prefer S-Class and M-Class. So why build 5 new E-class ships with Infinite Verandas and large dedicated suite areas? For the younger, up and coming crowd.
  20. Sorry trying to just add a bit of humor to an already off the rails thread.
  21. That's such good news. Now you don't have to overload your luggage with a tube of Chap Stick!😊
  22. Don't dwell too much on the OP's post. We all have expectations for cruising decorum I imagine. I guess there is a certain expected class of people with a high degree of sophistication that maybe goes along with the images in the Celebrity ads and commercials. But they still let me on the ship anyway! BTW, I do eat some fried foods on occasion (when DW is not looking!). Last cruise I had severe back problems too (true story) so at times I could barely stand! But I don't smoke and I wear decent clothes to dinner so I guess I get some points for that. Perhaps I will get booted down to RCCL at some point.☺️
  23. You can search here on reviews for S3 Magic Carpet Sky suites on Edge, Apex and Beyond. Most people love them and do not notice the Magic Carpet. It is usually stationary and not in your line of vision.
