  1. Diet tonic water- yes. But no diet ginger ale.
  2. Influencers or any other term you want to call them are everywhere these days and the common denominator is that they depend on people to be influenced (hits, visits, etc.). Some do it as a profession, others as a hobby. But there is also a fine line and a right to privacy (for us) vs. their free speech rights. I would not want to be filmed on a ship or anywhere else without my implicit consent. And Celebrity should perhaps give or deny permission to the influencers on board, with a set of clear cut rules and guidelines. Thank you- said my piece!
  3. This topic will go on forever. It started back years ago now when Edge was announced. And there is no answer except personal preference. We are long-time cruisers and prefer a traditional balcony. On E-class our options are suites or sunset verandas. Or we sail S-Class or M-class ships, or non-Celebrity ships. Pretty straightforward for us really.
  4. There was a whole thread on this topic recently. See below. In general, some Celebrity ships have posted certain hours where kids are allowed. But in general it is not popular with most adult cruisers using the area. Once on board, check with Guest Relations for your specific cruise. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2922972-solarium-adults-only-not-so-much-😐/
  5. No such thing as "its only a sky suite". You will love it. And happy 30th!
  6. I would ask your TA to take down a reminder to check with Celebrity later this year. Perhaps shortly after Oct 6 this year when people have made their 90 day final payments. There might be an accessible suite open up if somebody cancels. A longshot but who knows?
  7. I'll offer a somewhat different perspective. First I agree with everybody that Luminae is wonderful and it is included. The previous posters (and me too) have cruised Celebrity suites quite a bit and they perhaps see no reason to spend for Specialty Dining when you can go to Luminae. But the first time perhaps you want a little more variation and experimentation. And perhaps you have on-board credit to spend or don't care about the extra dining fees. So on Equinox on our last cruise (January) we went to both Murano and Tuscan Grille and very much enjoyed both. And of course loved Luminae. We have been to Le Petite Chef on several ships but not last cruise on Equinox. If you have not been yet, it is a unique and fun experience. Even more fun with a larger crowd if you are sailing with others. Even though we sail in suites quite a bit on Celebrity, we do enjoy the specialty dining as a nice change.
  8. Another way to look at it is area (sq ft). The Sky suite is 1.5x traditional balcony cabin. The CS is 2x the size. The CS has a separate enclosed bedroom.
  9. Laura was the Retreat Concierge on Equinox when we sailed in January. She was wonderful. The Equinox Retreat Lounge is one on S-Class ships that was upgraded (from Michael's Club). I found it to be bright and comfortable, but hardly utilized. The Retreat Sun Deck is on the front of the ship up several sets of stairs. No elevator access if you are physically challenged with a lot of stairs. Also very under utilized. Luminae was excellent (food, ambience and service) as usual. If you are in a Premium suite (above Sky suite and Celebrity suite) you will get dining in Specialty Restaurants included. Equinox has Murano - don't miss it!
  10. I enjoy the Ron Zacapa Old Fashioned at the World Class Bar (Diageo liquors). I was able to order this (frequently!) on Equinox in January. I have seen here on CC that Diageo no longer has an agreement with the parent company of Zacapa. Other rums will need to suffice.
  11. As an Aqua Sky Suite guest, you can dine in Luminae or Blu. Both nice options. APEX also has 4 main dining rooms if you want to occasionally dine there. Most folks here would recommend Eden or Fine Cut reservations. If you cannot get them in advance, you will be able to get dates and times when you board if you go see the Retreat Concierge or the maitre'D of any restaurant. The excursions are a different story. The popular ones do sell out so choose early. Also did you join your Roll Call group? There will be a lot of discussions on non-Celebrity private excursions that you might want to join with fellow Roll Call members.
  12. Yes this has also been my experience, and they knew what I would order too.
  13. I guess you are responsible for yourself and your kids. The other couple is not your responsibility. I ran into this situation in the past with my family. I did not allow my kids (even when teens) to do whatever they wanted on a cruise- and explained that they needed to understand the rules of the ship. My son occasionally did not want to change from his shorts and T-shirt for dinner. He was told of the acceptable options which were room service, the buffet or the Mast Grill. We did not dine together on those nights, his choice. But in fact we dined together almost every night in the MDR, properly dressed.
  14. Maybe you are using this as a figure of speech I hope! On a 3000 passenger cruise that would leave 300 unruly folk running around!😀
  15. Celebrity outsources their IT function and website as many corporations do. But they do contract and pay for this outsourcing and should expect better service. They also outsource their call center function.
  16. Big difference from a cosmetic type upgrade during a scheduled maintenance situation vs the full Revolution. No evidence that that is happening any more or any time soon.
  17. Is the state FL or one of the others that Celebrity cruises from? Still not likely to help but who knows.
  18. We really do understand your point. But the important thing that posters here keep responding to you is that it is not the norm on most Celebrity cruises. But probably on every Celebrity cruise there might be one or two of these types of belligerent cruisers. Out of several thousand on board. Most of us just ignore them. Easy to do. If you think it is the norm of Celebrity going forward, then maybe find a cruise line with your kind of sail mates.
  19. I think they are referring to having a real balcony.
  20. Ok you are paying for a Celebrity cruise over NCL and you want to drink a lot maybe but for free or a very reduced price? Why cruise Celebrity?
  21. Yes this is highly likely to be the reason.
  22. Thanks so much. We are considering Silversea for the Galapagos.
