  1. Is this the way you know that Princess makes it or is it the standard recipe which Princess may or may not be following??
  2. True, but promising you can stream what you want when you want is not puffery....and not possible in many cases on Princess. MedallionNet® The Best Wi-Fi at Sea Fast. Reliable. Unlimited. Affordable. Now on all ships. Access the internet everywhere on board so you can text, post photos, video chat and stream your favorite shows, movies, music and sports with ease. Fast and Reliable Internet MedallionNet Wi-Fi sets the industry standard for internet at sea. FaceTime your pooch in the morning. Stream your favorite shows by the pool in the afternoon. Post your Chocolate Journeys dessert from your dinner table. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, you can now stay connected with Wi-Fi coverage as you sail.
  3. And that is where many Americans often fail to adapt. They will tip where the culture is not to tip. That often changes the culture.
  4. How have you signed into your Princvess account? a) Captain's Circle name and password? or b) Cruise booking confirmation code (and other needed info) Which ever one you used, try the other.
  5. Yes, that is just the menu for one special evening. Most nights the menus are like what you are used to. However, even the "regular" menus have a reduced number of items in each category when compared to pre-pandemic. There are a number of "live from" threads after the restart that have the menus for each evening pictured.
  6. Your hopes are dashed. That is the version that was on the Ruby in January. Used to be my favorite dessert. This time had no desire to even try it.
  7. If you were asked to tap the Medallion, it was likely to be sure that the correct person was charged as the display she/he had no likely showed several people in the area you were at.
  8. I assume it is also gone from the Crown and Emerald. A big disappointment since now the only ice cream flavors at dinner are chocolate and vanilla.
  9. We were on the segment after yours and it was our first time on the Ruby. Since you had been on the Ruby before, I have a question. I thought that the Crown Class (which includes the Ruby) all had gelato at the International Cafe. However, this was not the case. Do you remember when you were on the Ruby previously if they had gelato at the IC?
  10. In our case, a single device Internet package is all we need, so for us the math is slightly different since we would not need the Internet that is included in the second package.
  11. That is the answer I did not know and why I suggested calling Princess. Thanks for providing the answer.
  12. $16.00 a day now if you had not purchased a package or pre-paid gratuities before the price increase went into effect in December for sailings starting Feb.20 this year.
  13. You will need to decide if you are happy with the plus plan quickly after boarding as changing to the premier plan probably can only be done on embarkation day.
  14. Correct. It was a very useful feature. I suspect someone decided it was not worth the cost to keep that option in the system.
  15. Yes, cancelling and rebooking does mean the original perks (if any) will be replaced with the new offer's perks (if any). However a good travel agent can work with Princess to get EZAir reservations moved to the new booking as well as stockholder's OBC. I recently rebooked two cruises and ended up with $600 more OBC than I originally had as well as better cruise pricing. Of course if someone rebooks a cruise that had Plus or Premier packages, the rebooking will have the current pricing for those packages.
  16. There are a number of "all inclusive" hotels and resorts where this is the case. I am not sure what that has to do with anything. It is tax free on the ship because taxes are not being collected for any government by the cruise line. However when you leave the ship at the end of the cruise, you may have to pay a tax (duty) on some or all of your onboard "tax free" purchases, depending on where you disembark and where you live and what the country's exemption limit is. (And (again depending on where you live) duty free prices on a ship are higher than what you would pay for the same item at home even after paying taxes.)
  17. Right, but that is not the way it is in the USA. And I beleive the UK discount airlines quote a price that is nowhere close to what you actually will pay.
  18. I have not looked, but in the past such changed plans might just mean a couple of cabins changed (example: from regular mini-suite to club class), a venue was renamed, or other minor change.
  19. If I remember correctly, HAL excludes a number of types of clothing from that bag special and it is only wash and fold, no ironing/pressing of the items.
  20. That is not the case for: Hotel room prices on land Car rental pricing on land Airline pricing Movie ticket prices Theater and sports tickets Purchases (at least in the USA) at any store since prices do not include the sales tax. ...etc. Why would you expect cruise lines to be any different?
  21. a) Nobody has ever accused Princess of being logical. b) Although the current information on the Princess web site says that tips are included in the Specialty Restaurant price, in the past there have been posts by people who have spoken to knowledgeable officers and were told that since the specialty restaurant staff are part of the tipping pool, none of the cover charge went to tips. Someone needs to ask appropriate management on a ship which is true now.
  22. There never was a limit on coffees a day. There was a limit of 15 specialty coffees during the cruise, but unlimited brewed coffees during the cruise. Thus, I do not know how accurate the rest of the notice your TA received is.
  23. Many land restaurants have a mandatory 18% tip (or more) for parties of 6 or more. And for when the tip is not mandatory, since most Americans tip in land restaurants, the menu cost does not seem as high as the final bill with the optional tip will be.
  24. Then the listed price for each would be higher and less people would order the drinks. No difference than on land in countries with tipping traditions. The listed price for that steak in a restaurant does not include a tip either.
  25. I would contact Princess with this question.
