  1. I think it's working just keeping a single thread. That way we can all go back an compare. Looks like a very comfortable Side by Side.
  2. If you really like one I would suggest bringing a small travel DVD player with you and hook up to the TV. Instead of that I usually rip the DVD to a media file and use a Plex serve on my laptop to stream to the TV. I should have said I've sailed with Celebrity for 23 years and back 15-20 years ago they also had VCR players and then VCR/DVD combos in the CS. They had them in the cabinet underneath the TV in the Bedroom.
  3. I think it depends on the tour. I did a Small Group Tour on Summit - Greenland. The group was really small as the boat we were on only held 8 passengers. I took a couple small group tours in Mexico last month and the both had 2 vans with 12 passengers in each van. At the destination we grouped together. It was a Off Road one where we broke into groups of 4 per jeep and the other 2 per jeep I also took a small group Kayaking in Puerto Valletta. In that case there was one 12 passenger van and then we broke into groups of 2 to kayak.
  4. Will report back once we get it in May as to what size bottle it is.
  5. Just wanted to come back and report I used the "HACK" of purchasing as a gift and it worked. I got a confirmation to day - $130 for a Liter of Gray Goose and they don't charge the 20% gratuity. Thanks for pointing this out.
  6. Haven't seen DVD or VCR in the suites for about 15 years. In "The Good Old Days" the CS and above all had VCR's and DVD's With digital media they have become another relic of the past.
  7. I also had a SS Guarantee for my Greenland / Iceland Cruise. Mine showed SS2 as it was a Sky Suite 2 guarantee. A room was not assigned until about 2 weeks prior to the cruise and we received an accessible SS2. On the other B2B - A S1 showed up at a lower price than my room so I "Upgraded" for a price guarantee and had a room assigned. Check frequently and if you see a V1 available call in and ask them to assign.
  8. I've been assigned accessible rooms a couple of times - recently I had a SS Guaranatee and another on a move up bid. Celebrity would not be assigning them if they had a guest that requested on. They aren't my favorite.
  9. A blogger recently posted the new menus - Looked fine to me.
  10. That's how I read it and also had confirmed by the Zenith desk. If you do a self unsupervised test you need to take a photo or bring the actual test with you. For the photo they confirm under information the original date and time of the photo. I guess if you print copy which is also acceptable they have no way to confirm date and time
  11. I have to agree. I think it is just a feel good test for Celebrity. I said the same to Iain yesterday with a couple what if scenarios - 1. What if I took a picture of mine and then air dropped a copy on you phone. It would still show the original date and time of picture. 2. What if you didn't actually swab your nose and just put 4 drops of the reagent on the test - It would of course show negative and the Control line would show up. BTW - at least on the tests I've use they show the test results for at least 48 hours after you take the test. When we had Covid and tested for 11 days I noticed the old tests in the garbage can were still showing the results.
  12. Actually it is nice if you like Cornish Game Hens- looks like a small chicken and is mostly white meat. Guinea Hen's which are also delicious are lean and tender dark meat and flavor reminiscent of Pheasant.
  13. Would Zenith also match at Gold or a different level?
  14. The perks that came with your booking and any purchases will stay with you. The perks that come with the room you will gain. For a Royal Suite you only get the Premium Drink Package and Internet if you purchase it full fare. You will however get the Room Perks - Unlimited Specialty Dining, Bar Setup with 2 Liter Bottles of your Choice and Mixers as well as Free Laundry (it says 2x but normally they will not charge unless you abuse)
  15. Thanks for taking the time to post your review of Beyond. Very well written and lots of information.
  16. I would suggest you book everything and anything that may remotely interest you. They book the excursions quickly and many of the ports don't have the infrastructure to add more. In Greenland we booked the Small boat trip to an ancient Island - Great tour but VERY EXPENSIVE. The boat only held 8 of us. On the trip to Iceland there was also a small tour via Zodiac to a Glacier. People were raving about it and was going to do on the way back to Boston but they didn't offer it an unable to even book it on my own. Join you Roll Call - Many of the tours we took were tours arranged by other from CC. If you read the Roll Call for our trip in 2022 you will see many of the tours that were offered. We also took the ships tour to Peggy's Cove with a Lobster Lunch - Great tour and one of the best lobster lunches I have ever had.
  17. Your my sunshine. I've been having the same problem for the last week. I went into my profile in the app and deleted my CC number and my RCL number. I then went back and put in my CC Number and went to web browser and suddenly everything was back to normal. I then went back to the App and was going to put my Crown and Anchor number in but it had auto populated. I'm wondering it it has to do with the Azamara breakaway. I also have that number on the web version but disappeared from the App. Iain doesn't have either of these populated and was not having any problems.
  18. Interesting.. they seem to be playing a game with my reservation -- They give a decent rate for ES but then add on about 2X the tax and fees as on my reservation which brings me almost back to what I'm currently paying.
  19. Thanks. The ValueTrips is excluded the dates as a blackout period. The only rate they could offer is their Standard Rate at $379 per night with Hyatt, AAA AARP etc . I made a booking as it as able to cancel up to 48 hours prior to arrival. I have to agree on our last visit I thought ES was really looking worn out. The one thing Iain enjoyed was the happy hour at ES but no big deal to me as I don't drink.
  20. A bubble bath and a glass of champagne (or red wine) will cure most maladies. Now your hooked on a RS. Thanks for your all encompassing review and look forward to Part 2 - "The New Adventure"
  21. Thanks Joan - I went ahead and booked Hyatt Place also as both are refundable. The other day I ran it by Iain and he poo-pooed it ... He may just have to live with what I choose. LOL If you say the rooms are nice I trust your opinion. Coming from the West Coast we usually get in around 11:30 - 1:00 AM so in these times we are coming in 2 days early (which is really only one day early), just costs us an extra day. I looked at the Marina that everyone recommends but it is now up to $575 a night. I might as well fly in early and take a cheap 3 night cruise.
  22. LOL --- I agree. I didn't expect to win the Mega Million Lottery but bought a ticket. Unfortunately I didn't win so I guess I have to keep bidding on upgrades. BTW - depending on the level of cabin you booked you can go to sites like any of the airlines cruise booking portals and select the class of the room you would like to bid on and see how many cabins are available. Often when bidding anything below suites there are lots of inventory and your odds of a win at or near the minimum bid are pretty high. I always say - When bidding expect the worst cabin in the classification you are bidding on and be happy if you get a better room.
  23. I can understand you logic but I have to admit I have enjoyed the benefit of the Upgrade Bidding System - Example - recently the last price of a RS was more than $4,000 than my current stateroom. I was more than satisfied with my current cabin but bid a total of $800 for the RS and won. While I was happy to pay the additional $800 I would not have paid the extra $4,000. If I had not won I would have been happy to keep my existing room.
  24. Kinda -- Your effective bid would be $515 but you would only be charged $500 if you were to win.
  25. No They multiplier is just what is considered by Celebrity from you Max bid. Having said that there are many other factors that go into who is awarded a move up. They use an logarithm to determine the accepted bid and the multiplier only comes into play when factoring in the amount of bid. Example is if a RS is bidding on a PH and a CS is bidding on the PH the RS may get the win on an identical bid because what they had paid and the ability to upgrade their room. If however you were in a CS as a E+ and I was in a CS as a Zenith and we both bid the same amount, I would probably get it because my effective bid was 1% higher than yours.
