  1. You would think they will have to bump some ships out of Florida. With the strong $U.S , their best profits would be in the U.S. but 2 new ships coming , it going to get congested. I think Anthem on the west coast split between Alaska and L.A over Christmas is a possibility. 3 Quantum in Alaska would be a big cash cow.
  2. From what I can work out Navigator is due for a dry dock in the first few months of 2024. Honolulu had a booking about then and I would say it would be on it’s way to Singapore for a dry dock.
  3. Don’t tell Graham that ,he would choke on his free buffet.
  4. With the flat sales in Australia we won’t be getting a oasis for a while and they will be running out of room in Florida. They could bump another quantum to the pacific.
  5. I was just chatting with someone on Ovation in a few weeks and out of confusion they called Royal. This doesn’t make any sense but Royal told them not to worry about a RAT as they will be tested at OPT. The only thing I can think is a verbal test ,they can’t test 4,000 people.
  6. How about the west coast? How does it work in with Navigator going to dry dock?
  7. Who are the bands onboard? There is usually one in boleros and one later in music hall.
  8. There not much local seafood anymore. There used to be 2,000 trawlers registered in Cairns and Port Douglas. The trawlers registered there now are just tourist traps selling farmed , or foreign seafood. There’s a trawler usually tied up in Port Douglas selling `seafood strait off the trawler’. Its farmed prawns, farmed fish, mussels from N.Z. and oyster. There’s no oysters in the tropics, they would come from down south somewhere.
  9. Something Icon of the seas will have in common with a Princess ship is the Princess Medallion won’t work.
  10. should be able to book it soon https://www.royalcaribbean.com/icon-of-the-seas/
  11. I think I did the all access tour on symphony of the seas. Probably the highlight was the laundry ,they did the Galley and bridge and the engine control room which was a big let down. Certainly not worth $300 , they didn’t even do the theatre. I think I have seen more for free with suite concierge and the loyalty ambassador.
  12. I did it a few years ago for a bit over $100 ,it was OK but I think the C&A free tours are just as good. Oh , I got a nice lanyard ,nothing else .
  13. Those diamond drinks are going to very handy, every thing has gone up. Have a look at this price gouging.
  14. They call them banana benders up there . When I lived in Cairns I couldn’t work out why they had a callus on one knee. I thought they where all devout Catholic but it was from bending bananas.
  15. A lot of people didn’t bother with the diamond happy hour. Just a pig trough. I was lucky to get one drink a day there but now I will get my full quoter .
  16. Let’s see how long it lasts. When you think of say a 100 diamond with 4 drinks on a 10 day cruise that’s 4000 drinks.
  17. John Trillin or the great John L used to wear white shoes. Now there’s a crook.
  18. 40 years ago you could have got locked up for that Mr Porter. Like them or not they got things done .
  19. I think this is getting a bit out of my league, this is hardcore Queensland politics. James Tooehey rings a bell ,Big Russ (minster for everything) Nope ,I’m getting into deep water .
  20. I thought white shoe brigade was a blanket coverage for all Queensland developers. One thing you have to give them they got the job done .
  21. That’s the place, no flat earthers though. I think they use to call them the white shoe brigade up around that area. But it’s a lovely place.
  22. Well it’s 2 nights from any major port ,there’s 4 nights. I think people would want a extra destination and Royal isn’t really well known for a overnights. Overnights at coco cay are very rare . I suppose there would a security and liability risk if someone got injured overnight, because it would be private property. I would say one night, don’t really know.
  23. That would be Tangalooma I would say, very nice.
  24. I can’t see a American style resort,we just don’t have the population. They are supposed to build a wharf to take a oasis class, the biggest water slide and flying fox in the Southern Hemispheres. There’s just not enough ships.
  25. I think Royal Caribbean is starting to believe their own hype. They way they portray the resort with only a couple of ships ( maybe less)going there each week doesn’t seem viable to me. They signed a long term lease with the island owners ,I think it was 75 years. All they have really produced was a video donating some stuff to the school. But apparently it was part of aid group called SHaRM . https://www.sharmfoundation.com/about-us/ The best thing Royal could do is take Carnival in ,build a second Mystery Island and give the locals some jobs.
