In the 2020 World event we had about 10 cruises cancelled. We got back everything we paid but it was a bit confusing to figure out whichcruise and excursions the dribbles of money were applied. Last year we were booked on a Holy Land cruise and a week before we sailed, the unrest started. Royal had only 7 days to rearrange our cruise and all the other cruises they had on other ships, which was a difficult thing because they weren’t the only cruise line in that area. They did a fabulous job and we had a wonderful, safe cruise. I won’t let fear of something that may or may not happen affect my life, or I would never walk out the door, and things can happen while I’m safe and sound in my home too.

In the past we’ve been able to board with the suites when we stayed in a JS.

Welcome to CC. We’ve been to Labadee many times, and there has always been issues in Haiti. Royal would never put their passengers in danger. Believe me I’m not blind to some of the things Royal does that I don’t agree with, but putting thousands of people in danger is never going to happen. Royal changed the ports on our Holy land cruise last year only a week before we sailed due to the issues there and they managed to keep us safe, while providing us the cruise we all wanted. That had to be a huge effort, we weren’t the only cruise line or ship that was in the area. But they did it. If they thought for a millionth of a second that Labadee was not secure, they would just skip the port and change to coco cay.

This is where I see it…on the way bottom of my cruise home page where it says “Browse Our Ships”

The paper here is already stating the restrictions and security that’s needed for the anticipated storm of breakers

Not true in that MTD can start at 515 if the people with early dining are consistently late and they give their table away because they constantly show up late 😏 IMO it’s inconsiderate to the servers to do that, the WJ has most of the same foods as MDR and you can go there at 515 or 530

We also prefer private car service, and usually when we travel to Europe and pre book our hotels (or B&B) they will arrange the pickup from the airport.

I see you also live in a Florida and have you seen the Royal ads on TV that say Weekend Cruises? Possibly that will be the 3 day ones. I was just saying what the bartender we know told us. That they think it will be like a party cruise.

We once saw someone leave their wheelchair open and it blocked the hallway, and after a couple of days the room steward (or someone else) would close it each night. I don’t think it was an accessible cabin.

I’m sure that’s true. Do you have to provide anything to prove you need one? I would be surprised and if not they will get scooped up quick. Years ago (BC) we took a cruise to Greece and I had an awful OV room because I booked late, so I did a royal up to a balcony and they gave us an accessible cabin. The cabin next to us was the same and the occupants also had won a royal up. I was surprised of the size of the room! It was as big as a JS! We were a bit uncomfortable in that we felt that someone may have needed it and didn’t get it, so my question is, if you wanted an accessible cabin and none are available and one opened up later would they give it to you first? Like is there a waiting list for you?

I’m on apple products. The Browse our ships is on the main screen that shows all your cruises , what you’re looking at is in a particular cruise. You need to be on the main screen that says “Your Upcoming Cruises”. Then you scroll to the bottom of your list of cruises and follow the rest of the directions I wrote

Navigate to your list of upcoming cruises Scroll all the way to the bottom and click browse our ships Choose the ship you will be going on Choose the current cruise date Choose dining Choose Main dining. You may have to check each deck to see which one shows menus

I know it’s not about the family, that’s why I said shame on the lawyers. I’ll bet they approached the family. Lawyers here in Florida typically get 40%, I know from experience.

On our last cruise on Wonder we met up with a bartender we’ve known from other ships. I mentioned to them that it’s a shame that beautiful ship is going to the 3 and 4 night cruises and they said they’re not looking forward to that as they’re “party/booze” cruises. Thats exactly how we think, and that’s not for us at all. Royal is squeezing us out slowly. I really feel bad for all the crew on any of those large ships.

And as in many situations , you don’t truly understand the total effects until you experience them yourself.

I feel so bad for the family, especially the children. Shame on the lawyers though, to allude to the wife (or whole family) that money will make them feel better is terrible. What will money do to make the pain go away? Nothing….It won’t, and dragging them into court and depositions and meetings on and on will only be good for the lawyer, not the family. They will re-live the event over and over and prevent the family the time to heal. It’s so sad.

I agree with what you said. I’m not abandoning Royal, and have many we booked long ago that are upcoming…... but I’ve not booked them recently and have booked Celebrity and Silversea. I find I’m no longer following the deployment thread with anticipation like I always did in the past, unless there’s a specific itinerary I’m interested in and even then it’s always 2 years away. All the royal cruises we’ve taken locally in the past couple of years weren’t bad, but they weren’t good either. So for that reason there’s a limit to what I’ll pay for just an ok cruise now…..funny… that’s how I felt about Carnival years ago when we moved to Royal…. And although I know this has been beaten to death, I still think the food is nothing like it was in the past, many nights there’s nothing on the boring repetitive menus thats good, so just another reason I’m not in a rush to book Royal now.

I would think the cameras that are all over the ship would have recorded him going in the cabins but not coming out until much later. Who knows how long he would be under the bed! I guess they don’t check the video footage unless they have a reason. Thats super creepy!!

Sorry to say I’m glad it’s not just me whose hair becomes straw…. I bring extra argan oil type stuff to add to my hair every day.
