  1. At times when there’s no open table in the WJ , and a couple at a table for 6, I have asked if it’s ok to sit. Usually they say yes, and we sit, eat and leave. Is this not acceptable?
  2. Better bring snacks too, you may be hungry. Look around here for posts on that ships food
  3. it’s like that at a certain amusement park here in Orlando. I would always find that I had to move so people wouldn’t bump into me, finally I just didn’t move and guess what…they moved, and the times they didn’t, my shoulder hit them 😉
  4. On serenade last week bar servers were few far far between.. Tables had dirty glasses and sticky gunk from the drinks.
  5. I see how hard most crew work on these ships. Without using the word “blame” which I don’t use, there have been some crew members in housekeeping and MDR that were either brand new and just needed more experience or where even though they tried their best, they still weren’t good at all in that particular job. I always pay auto gratuities, but have very rarely not given anything extra on the last night. There was only one occasion in all the cruises we’ve taken, where we almost removed the gratuity from a cabin steward whose service was so bad, I wouldn’t have been surprised if he had been let go. I didn’t complain or mention it, we just cleaned the room ourselves.
  6. Oh boy, that would be hard for me and impossible for hubby, he doesn’t like getting up early, did you just stay up all night or set an alarm? We have never been all the way to the top deck when passing under this bridge, but we did for this cruise just for fun, so to our surprise we had a great view of what was going on, until the teeny boat disappeared on our right and it was at that time that I guess the captain put on the breaks hard because the whole ship shuddered. Not sure if it was felt throughout the ship, but on top we all felt it. I did almost go deaf (not really) with all the horn blowing. I got a good video of the last minutes when the captain leaned on the horn for a LONG time just about when we were hit, there lots of videos on the social site in the group.
  7. We have a bunch of cruises booked but for now I’m not booking more. Which is sad….. I love cruising.
  8. I’m sad to see this as a trend for Royal. They were a higher class cruise line to me and to see them getting cheap is sad. I hope Royal steps up for the World Cruise……but then again, we ALL deserve a step above don’t we. We’re paying higher prices and getting less quality. That’s not a good combination….
  9. What time were you up to see us cross the bridge when we came back? We’ll be on Brilliance next week and since it’s too bright when we leave to get the full effect of the bridge, I will stay up to see it on the return. we did finally see brown water in the WJ, but it had zero taste sadly. I think the entire kitchen staff was new. Really bad food served to us this cruise. Maybe our server being new he wasn’t aggressive in the kitchen when choosing our dinners? I don’t know, I stressed to him every night to make sure not overcooked, and no salt. That didn’t seem too much to ask, but apparently it was for him. one night the sole was so salty, the maitre dee came over because a few of us sent it back, so I asked him, who’s watching what comes out of the kitchen…..then we left for the WJ. This is the first cruise ever that I gave a better review for WJ than MDR on my survey. And we have never eaten dinner in the WJ prior to this cruise. We don’t go out to eat much, so I appreciate getting table service.
  10. Wait what! The shrimp boat captain was insane, I could never figure out why they would take on a cruise ship….But I didn’t know about the jumper on the return! Did they jump? were you up at that hour?
  11. I don’t want to be negative here, but compared to the 10 other cruises we’ve done since restart, including 2 TAs, the negatives on this ship stood out. Royal seemed to be starting to look cheap. for example No ice tea, only 2 butters at dinner, things like that…These may seem trivial in print, but when you add them up, every day over and over it’s noticeable. And when you include that the MDR food was not good at all, which had nothing to do with the revised menus, we’re happy that Royal has many other ships that we can choose from. We were on Jewel for NYE and it was wonderful. We’ll be on Brilliance in a week and I’m sure it will also be wonderful. And yes, we’ve been on Serenade before and loved it. The the crew was friendly, the entertainment was great, Giovannis was delicious, we made lots of friends on this cruise. But it just wasn’t the Royal we’ve been used to. But in summary: *Bar tables were dirtier than usual, didn’t see many bar servers, so they didn’t get cleaned *Didn’t see many bar servers overall, so bars were more crowded hard to order drinks *WJ tables weren’t getting cleaned between uses. Not enough crew it seemed *WJ tongs were being used for multiple items by guests, potential allergy issues, plus gross *Many guests entered MDR and WJ without cleaning their hands. No one was there. *The glass on our balcony was filthy throughout the cruise. I asked guest services, they said they only clean them on Thursdays. I reminded them that it was Thursday and we were in port with Celebrity Beyond and they were getting cleaned. *It was very hard to find ice when WJ was closed, the Solarium ice machine wasn’t working. *MDR food was not good at all. A few nights we went to WJ to eat after picking at our plate. *MDR servers seemed very new and based on food we were served, the cooks must be too. Again, these may sound trivial, but when added up it was noticeable. We pay thousands for the privilege of cruising. Royal is not an inexpensive cruise line. We love cruising Royal and will continue cruising Royal
  12. Sadly we’re in no hurry to go back on this ship after the cruise we just got off on Saturday.
  13. Possibly they are overwhelmed by feelings of compassion for these people. I understand. I do feel for these people. Overwhelmed can have many meanings.
  14. Brilliant….I should have thought of that 🤪 Thanks, I plan to do a BOGO to surprise my hubby for our anniversary 🥂
  15. I see it on the web, but like the price of wifi is different on the web vs on the ship, I wanted to know the current price on a ship.
  16. We just did a cruise on Serenade that made stops in Colombia and Panama, which we did a full day traveling down the canal to the Pacific. We never were told we needed that vaccine!
  17. Brilliance March 18th cruise, but want lunch on our anniversary the next day. Can we do the BOGO for lunch too?
  18. Is anyone onboard now to find out how much lunch is at Giovanni’s? Thanks.
  19. We were on that cruise…too bad we didn’t get a chance to meet
  20. Was just on Serenade and we didn’t participate in any trivia. We couldn’t understand what the young lady was saying at all…. For the whole 10 days!! I think (hope) its dependent on the ship and not a trend, as we have had fun with trivia in the past. it would be so much better if we could understand what they were saying. It wasn’t good on that ship at all. And the regular cruise director was sent home unexpectedly, so the young lady that was filling in on our cruise was just ok, in fact we didn’t go to love and marriage show, we didn’t think it would be good with her.
  21. Have you sent clothes out for laundry service on a ship? They dry everything to throughly so that bacteria couldn’t live on the towels….😁
  22. Good move….we had perfect signal in Copenhagen with Magenta
  23. I agree…usually….. but we were just on Serenade and when we showered, it flooded the bathroom floor even though the shower doors were closed. We had to use a towel just for the floor each time. I didn’t tell guest services, just dirtied towels each day 😁
  24. It’s also worked in anywhere we were in Europe and the Arctic. We were just in Panama and didn’t get a signal there, but that was a first for us of no service. We love TMobile for this perk!
  25. Since we live local we would take the deal in a heartbeat. We’ve been on Wonder and although it wasn’t full for our sailing it was very crowded, so I don’t think I would want to even be on it when it’s full!
