  1. True if they want to use the port at Tampa, they need smaller ships. I can’t see them giving up that port.
  2. maybe I’ll need to ask that question at Captains Corner next time. That would be great news!
  3. Radiance ships are our favorites, but they’re getting older…I just hope Royal doesn’t decide to retire them anytime soon. We’ve done cruises to Europe, Hawaii, British Isles, and Greece on them and love those ships because of all the glass.
  4. We have cruised lots of the ships in Royals fleet, from the smallest to the current largest ship. I only see them building larger and larger ships that hold thousands and thousands of guests. These new - always bigger and better - ships have all the excitement of a land based amusement park at the same time as being on a cruise. It’s a win win for younger families with children, that they hope will continue cruising all their lives too. I understand that they’re a business, I’m a shareholder too. BUT for those of us that like a smaller more intimate cruises without all the Hoopla, we’re limited to the older smaller ships in the fleet. It’s becoming more apparent to me that we eventually need to branch out to other cruise lines to get the type of cruise we like, and not on an old ship. Maybe I’m just noticing now because we’re older and don’t need the excitement, although I’ve never needed it, I cruise because I LOVE the ocean. Anyone think Royal will ever build a smaller ship again? I know I know, we could just jump to Celebrity……but we’ve always cruised royal.
  5. Lots of people have posted pictures of the new menus so you can check them and see the option for vegan each night. There’s usually only 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and dessert, I don’t know if only 1 because I don’t look at that part of the menu.
  6. I don’t order two entrees either, but sometimes we order another so we can both try it and share. I’m like you, I waste nothing at home, but f I order an entree and it comes out like the fish I got on the last cruise that someone had poured a salt shaker on (even the MaitreD said others sent back for the same reason) I’m not eating it and will either order something else or go up to WJ. That whole lot of fish was wasted, I wasn’t the only one that sent it back. I agree in seeing people in WJ with huge plates of food being wasted, so when trying something new I take a teeny bit and if I like it, I can always get more 😁
  7. We were not on Oasis for our last experience that I spoke of above. I would speak to the Maitre D (and maybe slip a little 💵) when you board the ship and let him know about your group. I’m sure he will make sure things are perfect. Congratulations!
  8. I agree with you. In my survey I was much tougher than usual. I gave low marks for food in MDR and WJ. I also wrote what was wrong with the food. Although our servers were not good, I didn’t say that in the survey. I focused on the quality of the food as well as the preparation.
  9. First time ever that I said YES to the survey that we were asked to give a 10. It then gave me choices of MDR or WJ and maybe another, I don’t remember. But I honestly said YES they did. In my final comments I said for the first time ever since we’ve been cruising, that the food in WJ was better than MDR. I said our servers were very nice, but obviously very new. I didn’t say the reasons I said they were new, that wasn’t necessary. I’m not going to say NO to that question anymore. I’m asked on every cruise, by both WJ and MDR multiple times.
  10. unfortunately I highly doubt that more attention will be given the menu. Both my husband and I both lost weight on our last cruise as did others in our group for that cruise. We mentioned a few times while on the ship that we had never noticed our stomachs growl on any other ship ever. Not a bad thing to not gain even when we were drinking more 😁
  11. The new menus are mostly fine, though they did lack some choices that were available in the past, such as more expensive meats like lamb chops. They also lack choices for vegetarians and vegans. I’m not either, but liked items that are no longer available and nothing that’s considered vegetarian (only 1 vegan choice nightly) We noticed the quality of ingredients has changed and how the items are being cooked improperly and were served at the wrong temperature (not warm). They seem to cover the food with gravy or sauce which masks the taste of the food more than I remembered, and very salty as well. So while the menu changes are fine, the quality has changed more, at least on the ship we were on. Cruising again in a few days on a different ship, so that will give us a better picture.
  12. Thanks…..oddly I like finding the answers. It’s like being a detective 🕵️‍♀️
  13. We pay 💰for our cruises, which includes food. it most definitely isn’t free.
  14. I didn’t know people post the links here….. I’ll keep checking here to maybe finally be able to get more power up points. Thanks!
  15. Thanks! The new block is much nicer than I and probably may others thought.
  16. Thanks, so when I notice it all I need to do is go back in and update some of my info then….hope it works. 🤞
  17. Thank you, I checked and my info is already there but I added my phone number (again) so it updated. I don’t know why I I’m not always getting them, but hopefully I’ll get one soon. Thanks.
  18. I’m still not getting emails for power up points… how do I re sign up for these emails?
  19. Serenade we received once a day stateroom service. It seemed the ship didn’t have enough crew and possibly the cooks were new too.😕
  20. They have a chat feature but on our iPhones we don’t get notifications, we need to look in th app
  21. Usually the Key boards with Suites and Pinnacles. Look for that line.
  22. If you’re staying at a DVC resort 6 nights they should have done something in your room on day 4, plus they enter the room every day to remove trash and will come in even if you have the extra lock on the door, they have a device to open it. DVC room are way bigger than ship cabins, so even when you have towels hanging in the bathroom, which we do, they aren’t in the way like in a tiny ship cabin.
  23. We’ve done the Hawaii to Vancouver twice and loved it, but this time there’s less ports in Hawaii, so we passed on it. Our last time was in 2019 was 12 nights on Radiance - 2 days in Honolulu, 2 days in Maui, 2 days in Hawaii and 1 in Kauai. If we see that again I’m jumping on it.
  24. Thanks. We would never just sit down without asking.
