It looks a bit over the top at the moment, but hey who cares it is a cruise. I will just keep my sunglasses on, it will be a good look with my mask as well.😄 -

Thanks Geoff, It's going to be interesting to see if they are planning to tame down some of the interior deco. I wonder how people with youngsters that originally booked on the Spirit for the waterslide etc, feel about that entertainment not being there until a later date. I will be interested to know if I will still get a cabin on the same deck in the the same position as I originally booked on the Spirit. Carnival did say they will try to do that and looking at the deck plan of the Luminosa deck 7 it appears that there is a three berth balcony cabin ( with single sofa bed ) in the same spot. 🤞 ( Cruise Mapper has Carnival Luminosa deck plans ) -

I reckon they have been listening to channel 9 and decided to keep all the other cabins for isolation . I think I will give that one a miss.😄 -

Yep.still waiting, waiting, waiting. very strange. " We will inform you soon " has been a long soon. Has it been in dry dock and had any changes to Carnival yet ? I cant seem to find much information on it. -
Yes I would have felt like you. They should have given you a refund if you paid for a double person interior and ended up with a Studio. Some people don't mind the Gty but I like to pick my own cabin.

My Daughter has booked one of the balcony Studio cabins on the Quantum and it looks very nice. She said she would have felt claustrophobic in a studio interior one. I have to admit you do have to get in quick for one of those. Did they charge you for a studio or standard interior ? Studios do cost less for a solo passenger.

That means we can blame all them passengers for the floods , bush fires and rotten weather 😂

Yes it is a big might, but like we say any cruise is a good cruise😊
-
You might even get an upgrade.🤞

It means you have booked a guaranteed JS type balcony cabin that takes 4 but they will let you know on what deck and position of a cabin rather than you having the choice of picking your own cabin. Personally I prefer to choose my own as some cabins can be in noisy positions and I am a light sleeper. If this bothers you contact your travel agent or if you booked direct with Royal contact them and then ask them to change it. I believe you would have paid less by booking GTY. Choosing your cabin is more expensive. It is always better to have decks above and below that only have cabins unless noise is no issue for you. Cheers John

Yes I saw those but I thought I would quote the $54.000 cabin, after all if I have to rob a bank to be able to do the cruise I might as well have a balcony seeing the Suites are already sold.😁

Thats a lot of baked beans on toast to save $54.000 , think of the environment 😂

Warning if your about to cruise on Coral.

Agreed, and this is the information I would like to receive when making my mind up about taking a cruise not just how many people on board have Covid but to what extent. How many are seriously ill, if so were they fully vaccinated were they severely immunocompromised, how many mild cases. If 90% or more were mild cases that would be encouraging. 🤞 -

👍 Let's hope when the Quantum and others join us later they will do the same. -

One thing is for sure we need honest reports of the Covid situation on these cruise ships so we can make our decisions. Government Health state there will always be Covid on cruise ships but it would be nice to know to what extent. Posted this before the above post. Pleased that it give passengers a choice. -

Not good, I hope it clears up soon.Take it easy. Done the same thing a while back on the Toyota Kluger, being a fairly tall vehicle and that I had the door open, when the stool slipped I managed to grab hold of the door and ended up swinging on it. Thought it was funny until it closed on my fingers, all the wife could say was " idiot " no sympathy in my house. -

Queen Mary 2 was intended for regular scheduled crossings of the Atlantic Ocean; the final construction cost was approximately $300,000 per berth. The cost was increased by the high quality of materials; having been designed as an ocean liner, 40% more steel was required than for a standard cruise ship. ( wikipedia.) -

Thanks for your reply. I don't know if you are interested, as I am in the history of ships, if so the following article is good. https://www.chriscunard.com/history-fleet/ocean-liners/#:~:text=Ocean Liners are designed to,the coast%2C sailing between ports. -

I suppose now that modern ships can handle bad sea conditions fairly well on long ocean voyages, such as Transpacific cruises, the need for ocean going liners that were built specially for those conditions are no longer required. -
