  1. I'm on Eurodam now. Apex is not moving. Something is wrong with it. Lines still connected. Apex is blocking us. Every few minutes it lets off a protest toot.
  2. It was working until this morning. Now, if I tap on boarding pass nothing is there and it says "YOUR CHECK-IN* INVALID DATETIME" I printed the boarding pass with bar code so we have that as a backup, but what gives?
  3. Very excited to see if this menu is on our upcoming Eurodam cruise sailing on 11/18. It looks amazing!
  4. Hot cabins and sewer smell. Making me nervous for my Eurodam cruise in a week!
  5. We're sailing on Eurodam a week from Saturday when she gets back from this trip. Very excited!
  6. What's the 13-degree list story? The only time I was on NA, in December 2018, I awoke one night around 2am to a phone call in our cabin. It was a friend of ours down the corridor in a panic. "Why is the ship tipping?" I didn't know what she was talking about but then I noticed I nearly rolled out of bed. Indeed, the ship was steaming along with a 10-15 degree list to the port side. It was dramatic. I walked to the balcony door and opened it up to look straight out at the ocean surface. There was wind and rain. Apparently we were passing through a frontal passage and she wind from the storm was hitting the ship broadside. This was in the Carribbean between Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The next morning I grabbed a coffee early in the crows nest and the crew member looked green. She said everyone she knew below decks had a rough night with lots of vomiting. I've never experienced this on another ship.
  7. You could just wear a t-shirt that says: "I got the Clot Shot and all I got was this stupid card." 😎
  8. It’s awful now. Literally indistinguishable from sailing on a container ship. /s (There are some changes but you’ll still have a good time!)
  9. We were in 6001 on a Norway cruise out of Amsterdam. Great cabin. Here are some photos:
  10. He/she walks around the ship in a shirt with big letters announcing HOTEL MANAGER. Can’t miss ‘em!
  11. You’ll have to scroll a bit to get a genuine answer to your important question. You see, this Board is very much a HAL fan club. There are many people who check this board every day to see where HAL ships are and to fantasize about their next cruise (or reminisce about a HAL cruise they took 30 years ago). Nothing wrong with that. But if you stopped by an Elvis fan club and asked if he’d put on weight, they’d chase you out. The quality cutbacks are real and will probably last a while longer. The fan club doesn’t help. The hotel manager doesn’t have a desk on the promenade deck that you can just drop by and he certainly can’t fix poor food quality mid trip (or ever).
  12. Just sailed Regal Princess in Dec 2022. My last HAL cruise was on Koningsdam in Dec 2019. So, I have no "recent" HAL experience but here is what I noticed after Princess: HAL has (or had?) better food at the Lido - much better. This may no longer be the case as I understand all cruise lines have been making significant cutbacks in food quality. HAL and Princess MDR food quality were about the same. Still get lobster on Princess. Access to the dining room and dining scheduling was easier with Princess. Conceriege lounge on Princess far superior to Neptune lounge on HAL. Cabins larger on HAL for the most part. Balconies also larger on HAL. Ship layout better on HAL in my opinion. No crow's nest on Princess. No promenade deck on Princess. More kids on Princess. More shows on Princess although the quality was not very good. The entertainment on HAL clearly geared toward 50+ crowd. I still think the ports are the most important factor when choosing a cruise. I'll add that I am *more* likely to book w/ HAL or another cruise on a future cruise than Princess after sailing with Princess. Not that I didn't have a good time, I just enjoyed my HAL cruises more.
  13. Glad to hear an update from her. Sounds like she's in good hands and has a very good chance of recovering. Lots of positive thoughts!
  14. I recently made a claim w/ Allianz due to a medical issue on a cruise and trip interruption. I received a denial letter about 5 days after I submitted the claim w/ excellent documentation. Had my lawyer send them a demand letter pointing out how my claim was covered under the policy. I received checks paying the claim in full about 10 days later. Seems their policy is to auto-deny and force you to make a fuss.
  15. Sorry if I wasn't clear. This isn't a credit card hold. These are posted charges. I pre-paid for the spa visit in September 2022. The cruise was Dec 18-26. An additional charge for a "second massage" showed up on the bill. No credit for the prepayment.
  16. I didn't check it before I left the ship. They emailed it to me after I got off the ship. I don't make a habit of checking the bill before leaving.
