We rented chairs and an umbrella. I don’t remember the exact cost. I think it was usually $30-$40 at our port stops.

We went to The Boatyard for our day in Barbados. There was a $35 cover charge per person which included a drink, chair, umbrella, and water activities. The chairs are limited, so it’s probably best to go early in the day. The sand is powdery soft and the beach is beautiful. The water was calm during our visit. The rum punch is really good and strong. I can’t wait to go back. Barbados was our favorite stop on our cruise.

We spent our day in St Kitts at Reggae Beach Bar. It was about a 30 minute taxi ride to the beach. There are beach rentals available and a bar and restaurant. The food and drinks were good and there are servers on the beach to take your order. The water was calm and easy to get into and out of. It is a fun place to spend the day on the beach. We even got to hold a baby monkey. I would visit again.

We spent our day in Sint Maarten at Mullet Bay Beach. It’s about a 20 minute ride from the port depending on traffic. We’ve been there before and usually the water is calm, but this time there were huge waves rolling in. I stayed out of the water. I saw a lot of people getting knocked down and losing their sunglasses. There are a couple of bars and restaurants on the beach. We had the ribs and fries for lunch. Both were really good. There is a port o potty for the rest room. I like this beach and would go there again.

We ended up at Valley Church Beach for our day in Antigua. It took about a half an hour to get to the beach by taxi. The beach is very nice and there are chair, umbrella, and water sports rentals available. There is a beach bar and restaurant on the beach. The rest rooms were very clean. The water was calm, but there is a sandy ledge that drops off at the shoreline. If you have bad knees, the squishy sand makes it harder to get out of the water.

We spent our day in St Croix at Rhythms on Rainbow Beach. It’s a short cab ride from the port and you can see the cruise ships in the distance off to the left. We had the rum drinks in the bucket, mahi bites, and fries. The food at the restaurant is really good. The beach is nice, but there are some rocks in the water. It looks like the water is usually calm, but we had waves, so I didn’t go in the water. We had a great time and would visit this beach again.

Just got off the enchantment. The smell just started this morning. I was on deck 8 and could smell it in the hall and in the centrum when we left the ship, but not in my cabin. Hopefully they got it fixed today since there are a lot of activities in the centrum. Have a great cruise.

I like the location and found it to be a convenient spot. I didn’t find it to be a noisy location. The window isn’t the clearest because of the salty air, but it’s a nice view anyway.

What did you end up doing in Barbados? Hoping you had fun.

You never know. I moved from an inside guarantee to a hump veranda on deck 8. I bid $5 over the minimum. There were lots of veranda cabins left on my sailing. Your chances are probably better if the ship has a lot of availability close to the sailing date. I don’t usually bother bidding if the ship seems pretty full.

Was wondering which company you used for your jeep rental in SXM. Did you rent in advance or at the pier?

I mainly don’t book far in advance because I like to do things spur of the moment. Also, I don’t know where I’ll want to go in 24/25 or which cruise line I will want to use.

I had one of the newly added inside cabins and it had a shower door. (Deck 9, near mid ship elevators) I think all of the cabins have doors on the Summit.

Thinking about buying some. Which ones do you recommend?

Yes, I only book a few months to weeks out.

That’s terrible. Lately I’ve been carrying on my bags and checking a backpack that contains my sunscreen and less needed items.

I think it’s worth it for the water bottles and coffee.

Connecting cabins on Equinox are no big deal. They don’t really connect unless you want to have them connect with the cabin next door.

The pillows are as bad as the beds.

I cut out packing bathroom products on celebrity. The cabin has everything you mentioned. The cabin products are okay. I try to pack as light as possible. It makes traveling so much easier.

Try Celebrity. The decks are pretty open. I’ve always been able to get a chair on the deck above the pool.
