  1. One thing I didn't like was that we had an extended trip and when we finally got home the survey could no longer be accessed...Time was up! so I didn't get to make any positive comments for our wait staff like I promised...boo hiss, when RCCL started farming out stuff like the survey and Royal up etc. it all went to pot.
  2. I am leaning toward Hyatt Place, just inquired and the Airport shuttle is free with an airport assessment is $2 pp, the shuttle to ship is $7 pp. We've stayed in the Renaissance and ate at the Boatyard very good!
  3. daily gratuity went from 14.50 to $16.00 PP Per day and suite guests went from $17.50 to 18.50. We got the email about rising Grats so we called and added the Grats onto all our invoices...so all of them got the old grat rate not the new one. So if you have cruises booked without the grats included, you can add paid grats now and get the lower amount on your future cruise. This included one we have in 2023 too! Just as long as you add them on before Sept. 7th.
  4. They have had non gluten bread for ages...just ask or contact Special Needs
  5. Ditto and anyway the ocean fixes everything! We do Grandeur 4 day in 34 days, can't wait. It's always new to us. There are lots of little things that annoy, but I can easily ignore them. Can't stand that Beef stroganoff is served on rice for instance, should be noodles. WHAT? Or that the biscuits have sugar in them...they are scones! not biscuits. I lap it up and move on. Grateful.
  6. How to be considerate with your balcony lights...i.e. leave them off when you're not out there! So the rest of us can enjoy the stars! Oh, and the volume on your TV. And of course line cutting, my pet peeve of all things!
  7. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/resources/menus/izumi-menu-sample.pdf Yellowtail IS tuna and this is the menu, hardly just Salmon and tuna. Shrimp, snow crab, chicken, beef, lobster salmon and tuna all on the menu. It's a nice spread. I enjoyed every bite. We've done the Teppanyaki experience twice and hot rock once along with most of the rolls. I think it's good.
  8. I love California rolls, bite your tongue! Don't care about authenticity, just what tastes good to me. And that....is definitely subjective...one's man trash is another man's sushi.
  9. MMMM in Hawaii you can even get pretty good poke at Costco LOL
  10. I think it's worth it, although I've certainly had better and he as an "Aficionado" will have had the best, so it's all relative. I'd still pay for it or just some luncheon rolls at least. He may be surprised, I love the dragon rolls.
  11. Go here and look for yourself, you don't have to have the email, they will tell you here: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/booked/cruise-room-upgrade
  12. My cruise buds give a cruise bag of goodies every cruise, several back I bought everybody metal straws with carabiner that clips onto my sea pass springy wrist thingy or tuck into the Ta Ta bank. I hardly know it's there but it sure comes in handy. Lipstick is the main motivator for me. I hate those paper things.
  13. Maybe some will reply to my question??? How long before departure did you get word you were accepted? For our first I'm pretty sure it was 2 weeks out. Day of Departure 1 week out 2 weeks out 3 weeks out Or longer Not a long discourse just the amount of time please. Thanks
  14. Nope, we have Grandeur Sept 26th 4 day, Odyssey in December
  15. Back in the day....way back in the day this was possible, but I have tried doing this on multiple occasions and the answer has always been "Sorry, we're booked up" HOwever, we once were upgraded to a balcony on Liberty when we could not sleep in our Deck 2 interior because it was right under the skating venue ladies room and the cleaning staff woke us at 3:00 every morning, they came listened and the next thing ya know we were moved to Decka 9 I think it was and I had only asked to be shuffled around on deck 2. Nice!
  16. It started out at $1960. Then thanks to Merion Mom, adjustment went down to $1405!!! The Grandeur bid is for the same amount we paid on an interior with no window up to a Spacious Oceanview with huge window.
  17. The bid is on next month's Grandeur shorti. I get a bigger window LOL. The adjustment was on Odyssey
  18. Same here and to see if my bid was accepted!!!!!!!!!!! So far my original fare for Odyssey cannot be bested $1407 Balcony after one price adjustment. Closest I've seen so far is in the $1600s. I still say it pays to book early. Again THANK YOU Merion Mom
  19. Thanks, I found that very interesting. #5 should be at the #1 spot IMHO. The quality (or lack of it) of the food has been a main focus in almost every thread on Cruise Critic. Extremely important how the quality of food has suffered over the years. The cooking of that food is of less importance to me. The quality is key. I expect the freshest ingredients, the most tender meats etc. If they can address that on ICON, I will be there.
  20. Well, I can see we are just about one word from removal!
  21. When they disperse them equally, you then cannot make exceptions for bad or good service. The tips should be left to the customer...period. We like to let it ride and on the last day determine whether we have received good service, tip in envelopes and/or add more to the envelope on top of theirs. We are not cheap, if it's earned I'd give them the moon, and on occasion have just about done that for some. But I resent service personnel with an entitlement attitude and unfortunately, there have been a few like that over our 26 year cruising experience. We have elected not to tip at all on 2 occasions. Both room stewards. The other thing is, I run a tight ship. Most of the room I take care of, with the exception of cleaning the bathroom (I even use the toilet brush daily) and changing linens ( I even spread the bed, can't abide the bed in a kerfuffle) I am OCD and keep things extremely tidy. I've seen rooms as we walk by that are pig stys IMHO. I couldn't cruise like that. All our things are folded and put away and stay away in the drawers and closets. I have every respect and sympathy for our crew and appreciate them tremendously, but when things are substandard, don't mind letting the chips fall where they may.
  22. Offer emailed last week, made my bid, we are now 38 days out, just want to hurry up and find out if my bid was accepted. Seems like the last time, I knew well before the cruise, but with so many saying, "I didn't find out until day of the cruise". It will be murder waiting so long. The ship is currently almost sold out completely. I couldn't upgrade even if I wanted to online.
