cant do the back to back, but we're on the jewel i think jan 26th thru feb 4th. if we happen to be onthe same ship, and cruise, we're in the haven 2 bedroom. im the one with a glass of champagne in one hand and an ice cold bottle of heineken in the other

we've booked the 2 bedroom haven suite on the jan sailing from panama through the canal, onthe jewel, and i found that the prices are what i consider reasonable for 3 people we're also in a 2 bedroom on the gem b2b 3 people from venice ending in rome. once again for 2 weeks and 3 people i think the prices are reasonable. we didnt book he 2 bedroom haven, as the rooms are almost identical, the perks are almost all the same, and its not worth the extra $3,000 to be in the "haven" complex. ive commented before, if anyone feels that the ncl cruise prices are to high, or unreasonable, it'like any other commodity. spend your money elsewhere. regardless of other lines, i find most ncl itineraries are amazing, and well worth the price.

NCL Epic - Concerned About Bad Reviews
complawyer replied to GreenFamily's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
i can only speak for myself, but "cutting edge entertainment" is not, nor has it ever been a consideration for taking any specific cruise. price and itinerary are my primary (and usually only) criteria. consequently, im sticking with ncl as i believe they truly give you the most "bang" for your buck -
they can visit your cabin, and if you speak with the maitre 'd or the concierge, they can have a meal with you in the haven restaurant. it may cost you, but sometimes if your nice they wont charge
-
if you do it before final payment is due there should be no problem
-
while i am sincerely sorry for you negative experience, we've been on 20 ncl cruises in the last 20 years, and only once did we have an itinerary change. it was to windy to dock at gsc, so we got an extra sea day. that was fine with me as i think grand stirrup caye is a waste, and i wouldnt have gotten off the ship anyway

you can get cans of soda, but they're usually about $3.00 per can. that times, however, i have been fortunate enough to have a butler that will bring me the cans at no charge. since im addicted to pepsi, i dont mind the price, but by the glass its free

Upgrade advantage minimum bid / calculation.
complawyer replied to KyleClark's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
minimum bid is the minimum bid that will be acceptable for the specific cabin. applies to all bidders, although all upgrade offers do not automatically include all cabins -
if youre in a haven suite, talk to your concierge he can get you off the ship and on your way in record time
-
wedgie wedgie, sorry to have to ask you this, but what the h**l is maloney?
-
hey! cruzinsusan70, if you recall, pepsi is free by the glass so i would have been happy to pop for a glass for patrlr. just like i would for you, by the can, its slightly over $3.00 so i can't afford to be that generous, since i drink 3-4 cans daily unfortunately, to my everlasting chagrin, ncl is switching to coke products, and my life will never be the same

Registered credit card for cruise expenses
complawyer replied to schmoopie17's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
i have always been asked to show the card when boarding. sometimes, i change the card from the one i registered to a different card. also, it's good to have at least once credit card with you to use when in different ports. some places take visa, some mastercard, etc. if you dont want a ship sponsored shore excursion ( we ususally hire a taxi for the day) they mostly all take credit cards, regardless of what card you choose to take with you "dont leave home without one" -
mongu... if that's all they gave you, i would have been p****d off also! and patrlr. i wouldnt want you to bust your budget. consequently, if we're ever on the same cruise, i promise to buy you 1 baileys on the rocks (or straight up if thats how you drink it) each night of the cruise, and possibly 2 per night depending on the length of the cruise. i figure if its a 2 week cruise, the most it'll run me is slightly under $30. so fortunately, that wont effect my budget, and i'll get off the ship with a warm, cozy feeling that i did something nice for a complete stranger . LOL!!

Quick question tipping using onboard account?
complawyer replied to goldmom's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
if your cabins are close, more than likely you will have the same butler. dont forget the concierge, who can almost (not) always perform miracles. and for graphic guy, if you win a few hands consistently, give the dealer a $5.00 chip, or bet it for him/her on your next hand -
if you really, really want a shot of baileys, is the extra buck to much to ask for, or to much to handle. if youre spending 100's to 1000's of $$$$ on a cruise, and it's something you really want, just spring for the other dollar. i realize it's a nickel/dime/ principle issue, but if you want a baileys, go for it.

Quick question tipping using onboard account?
complawyer replied to goldmom's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
we always carry cash on board. tipping has been covered many times before. i am a firm believer in giving tips to anyone providing service. i start with the porters at the doc. we always tip waiters and bartenders, i give the steward $20 at the beginning ,another in the middle and a final $20 at the end, and additional dollars if he does anything extra for us. i give the butler anywhere between 50-100 at the end, and the concierge 50-75. we even give the workers in the buffet a few dollars if they bring us drinks from the bar, and dont forget a couple of bucks if the guy in the buffet makes you an omelet, makes the pasta dish for you or any type crepe. believe me, the degree of appreciation from those people is amazing -

its much safer (imo) to just give the cash to the specific individual. just tell him/her, the tip is for the great service to your entire party -
Any idea why NCL dropped Costa Rica as a port?
complawyer replied to mooshipalmdale's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
we're booked on the jewel from panama city, jan 26,2023. i just checked and port limon is still listed as a port of call -
even if you use up your freebies, you can eat anywhere you wish, as often as you wish, as long as there are reservations or tables available and youre willing to pay for the dinners personally, for me, eating in le bistro even once is more than enough for me, thank you very much

if you have 2nd thoughts, you are within the cancellation period with no penalties, so if you really dont want to go, call ncl and merely cancel. we just got off the star last month, southampton to copenhagen, and it's not that bad. food was good, not great but good, atmosphere was fine, if you go, chances are good you'll have an enjoyable adventure

regardless, of the bogo promo, i'd rather take care of my own airline booking and hotel reservations, thank you very much
