We considered this itinerary for our June cruise, but 8 days and only 3 ports was too many sea days for my wife, so we booked AB + 2 stops in DR. Will be following along.
No doubt about it. Most people only know of Junkanoo or Cabbage beach in Nassau. I was just pointing out that if you go off the beaten path you can find nice beaches in Nassau.
Nassau has great beaches (Saunders, etc) but require a longish taxi ride.
Amber Cove is a lazy pool day (unless you book the waterfalls).
Grand Turk has great SCUBA diving and is pretty much a beach (or pool) day.
Hilton Riverside is close to the port (and thus the Aquarium) and short walk to Bourbon St. Hilton St. Charles is father away but a historic looking building. I Second looking at Saint Greg's website.
You need to take all review with a grain of salt (both positive and negative). And remember some reviewers have never been on the ship they are reviewing.
Some people like oysters while some like snails. Is one better (or in this case a better deal) in the end of the day does it matter? If you enjoyed your cruise is what counts and matters the most.
There are two shuttles. $4 round trip (lost your ticket $1). Both leave from the port area ( behind the closed down shops). And both go downtownish. Don’t feel like paying downtown is a short walk away.
