  1. Keep checking on the cabana prices. We got an Oasis Lagoon cabana for $399 during a Black Friday sale. It is for an August 2022 cruise. Now selling for $1100. We will be Star Class on Harmony (trying the 4-Bdr Villa Suite this time) and have done the Aquatheatre Suite on deck 8 on Oasis and on Allure. Unmatched balcony, great living area, unimpressive bathrooms. Long hallway, but with 8 people it is the best choice for us. You will have a wonderful time. mac_tlc
  2. That sounds like a perfect few days, similar to our grueling routine 😜. mac_tlc
  3. One of the most unlikely locations for me to take a picture would be on a scale…….. mac_tlc
  4. Ocean View Balcony Guarantee is category XB, Neighborhood balcony guarantee is category XN. Price depends on sailing. For instance 9/18/22 Oasis has XB at $501pp, XN is $502. Usually XB is more expensive. mac_tlc
  5. We parked in the outside lot in May. Got a ticket to pay after the cruise. Still advantageous to pay at the machines directly outside the baggage area. If not, you have to wait in line to pay as you exit the lot. Line on the left was for those who already paid at the machine. mac_tlc
  6. I’m due for a Harmony block in August, sounds like I may get it by Christmas. mac_tlc
  7. I'm sure it goes way up everytime Celebrity announces their "sale of the year".🙃
  8. It's comforting to know I am not alone. I have been tracking some December cruises on Edge/Apex/Beyond fora few months and have a similar spreadsheet. I'll save people the "fun" of looking at it, but the punchline is that the latest sale is the worst. mac_tlc
  9. Nice to see AJ “moving on up”! We had him as a retreat host on the Edge shortly after the restart last summer. I agree with your assessment. mac_tlc
  10. Looks like a great schedule. I’m trying to squeeze in another 2022 after we cancelled our TA in November. We didn’t feel comfortable flying to Rome and departing from there. Our 2023 s pretty full at this point, especially with Edge Rome-Dubai-Singapore. I’m eyeing the 4/13/24 Apex, and doing a B2B with the TA, when it is announced. mac_tlc
  11. Congrats on retirement!!! I think you will adjust nicely.. Hope all is well with the family. mac_tlc
  12. Glad you had a great time. What was the passenger count!? We were on Oasis early on May and loved Phoenix— just wish the eye had a better venue than the Music Hall. Aqua80 is the best !!! mac_tlc
  13. Royal is currently running a kids sail free promo. Expires soon. mac_tlc
  14. In the example I was referring to, it has nothing to do with supply and demand. The same cabin went up 29% overnight when the "new" "semi-annual" sale kicked in. Supply and demand works when comparing a sailing that may have been booked months ago, but not a huge overnight price change that happens to coincide with their "biggest deal of the year". I cant wait for the second semi-annual sale .... mac_tlc
  15. Amazing how they can play the shell game. I’m not surprised , but it is disheartening. I was contemplating a December cruise on Edge. Yesterday, I priced out an E1 with the then effective sale. For the Elevate option, for two people, it was a total of $5,429.20 with $800 OBC. With today’s “sale”, it is $6,390.20 with $400 OBC. A net increase of about $1400, or 29%. As expected the “cruise fare” was up considerably. Gotta get the money somewhere so you can pretend to give 60% back, I guess. And they call it “Our Biggest Offer of the Year”. Incredible. mac_tlc
  16. Similar policy change posted on Royal board too. Now I am more confident than ever that Celebrity will follow Royal’s lead on changing the non-refundable deposit rules. mac_tlc
  17. No they are not. Pre-Covid, if I cancelled before final payment, I only lost $100pp, the rest of the deposit was returned as an FCC usable within one year of the original sail date. Just cancelled a November 2022 cruise which is beyond the CWC date and only lost $100pp. The remaining deposit was returned as an FCC which I immediately applied to an existing booking. The “new” policy is more punitive. mac_tlc
  18. Their NRD policy and FCC expiration dates pre covid were the same. The two examples are identical on NRD cancellation impacts and FCC expiration dates, which is what we were discussing. While they may not be identical in all instances, on this topic I think it’s highly likely they will be the same eventually. Maybe the potential RCI change is a trial balloon to gauge reaction. mac_tlc
  19. I wish that November 2022 sailing was under CWC, but, it only cost me $200. I kept waiting and hoping it would be extended again but it became obvious they were not going to go beyond 9/30/22. Even though the expiration date was a long time away, I wanted to apply them as soon as I could since I had some sailings booked. BTW, that second sailing was a Celebrity cruise. While the Celebrity board doesn’t have a similar thread, I expect them to follow along…….unfortunately. mac_tlc
  20. Unfortunately, I had two recent opportunities to experience the old cancellation rules. First one: Cruise was 11/5/2022 Cancelled it 4/8/2022 FCC expiration date 11/5/2023 Second one: Cruise was 1/21/2023 Cancelled 4/8/2022 FCC expiration date 1/21/2024 The expiration date was irrelevant to me since I immediately applied both of them to sailings I already had booked. The potential change would be much less impactful to me if I could move the remaining deposit to an already booked cruise. If I have to immediately move it to a new sailing, it’s a bit more challenging. mac_tlc
  21. Pre-Covid, if I cancelled, I would be charged the $100 fee but get an FCC for the remainder of the deposit. As of 6/1, if I cancel, I lose the whole deposit. Covid rules (CWC) eliminated the $100 fee and changed the cancellation timeline to essentially eliminate any penalties, so long as you were 48 hrs away from sailing. mac_tlc
