  1. As I said, I hope I am wrong, but I just don't think so. What about the alcohol that is not there but should be on the drink package you paid for? I don't suppose you expect anything back for that. Just be prepared for a run around when you inquire about what they intend to do.
  2. But remember this, someone who does actually want to go on the excursion that you book as a placeholder is now shut out of it as it sells out.
  3. I expect to get lost as I have a horrendous sense of direction. (For instance, on our very first cruise, I got us on a train going the wrong way in Italy.) But, I can guarantee that I will not get lost looking for the Haven as we are not booked there. 😊 Thanks again for your review. I learned a lot from both you and Sid in your reviews. And you were both great at responding to questions from others including me. I'm hoping there is a similar type review this summer prior to our cruise from someone doing our itinerary (or its reverse) from London (Southampton) to Reykjavik.
  4. As I said in my previous post, we did not have ballroom dancing on our last HAL cruise on the former Maasdam. Both when I spoke with them at the purser's desk and in their reply to my survey complaint about no ballroom dancing, I was told that it could be found on their LARGER ships.
  5. I could be wrong, but I think that that shore excursion credit can be kissed goodbye.
  6. Just another example of customer disservice as it would be easy if they knew your cabin number to find out who the previous occupants were. 😒
  7. Yes, I have been amazed at seeing cars that do not pull over for an ambulance or firetruck. Same principle of being me first and to hell with everyone else.
  8. Yay. And if you had faith that that would eventually happen, this thread would have never appeared. 😁
  9. Your commentary will be missed, but luckily we will still have Hank to "walk us through" the ship and the ports.
  10. That makes a lot of sense. Many passengers will be off the ship on excursions or do it yourself during the stated lunch times.
  11. I hope you gave that host a write up as someone who made your cruise special.
  12. Walter Cronkite, where are you now that we need you more than ever?
  13. It basically comes down to you go fishing from the ship, the cruise line gives you the hook! 😒
  14. Sometimes learning experiences cost money. But who knows maybe you will eventually get your refund.
  15. Good luck with your May cruise. It really sounds like the vegetarian/vegan experience is so dependent on having at least one employee going above and beyond great service. It is always the right thing to do when this happens to make sure you turn in your report of how they did go above and beyond to make your cruise special.
  16. Please go with the attitude that you are going to have a good, make that great, time. If you allow all your preconceived notions about what will be bad, it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.
  17. "The cruise line where all the fun ends at 11" does not sound like a great marketing slogan. How about "the cruise line where you can get a good night's sleep before the next day's amazing adventure"?
  18. Agreed, but do you really think NCL (or for that matter any cruise line) is going to do anything to stop it?
  19. And her TA could do this, but it sounds like he or she won't. I'd consider shopping around for a new TA the next time she and her family want to book a cruise.
  20. And it's not worth it; Hell in Grand Cayman is just a tourist trap! The turtle farm there is worthwhile visiting.
  21. Inside, DW loved how dark it was so she could sleep, so we have basically been doing insides since then.
