Does anyone know if the third bed option in the premium balcony is one of the beds that pulls down from the ceiling or like a cot on the floor? A bed on the floor would be preferred. The other option is the mini suite with a sofa bed. The mini suites are quite a bit more expensive. Does anyone know if there is free room service with the mini suite? I read the list of benefits. If you’ve stayed in one what do you consider the biggest benefit? The cruise ship is ruby princess. Thanks for any help you can give. I’ve done some googling but can’t figure out about the bed.

Thanks but i'm looking to hear from people who have actually done the princess tour. Reading about the excursions only tells you so much. I do know the difference in doing it on your own now. I don't drive so that's a prohibitive factor.

Just a note that it looks like the single supplement is reduced on the princess alaska cruise tours.

Also is there a difference between grand princess and sapphire princess? Is it better to go on a 11 day and spend an extra day in denali national park?

I notice these are on sale, plus single supplement is small. Is it worthwhile to go to fairbanks? I notice some go to anchorage and some to fairbanks. Is airfare cheaper from one or the other? Is the all inclusive better or is on your own ok? Does it matter which direction you go?

I’ve only travelled on holland america and i found people really friendly at dinnerwhich was the main thing for me.

Just a note that the celebrity caribbean cruises to san juan in non/dec24 are quite cheap at 1100US. The problem is the expensive airfare and for me i don’t think it would work but for some it might.

There is some sort of brunch/galley tour on brilliance of the seas in june. I believe there was an expensive ship tour.

Just a note if you are canadian check this ruby princess sailing out as it is 450+tax so must be no exchange rate added! When i logged in i found a residents promotion and clicked through there. Unfortunately i’m from vancouver and not sure i want to pay airfare to houston. Good find!

Does princess charge double deposits to solo cruisers? My cruise agent wasn’t sure if i’d be charged a100 or 200 deposit.

I meant the US doesn’t have a boxing day like Canada does. Boxing Day in canada is just like black friday and dedicated to sales. We had it before black friday even existed though. I feel sure if the US had it princess would have a sale but alas no. Maybe princess could have a canadian dollar at par sale just for Canadians! I can hope:-)

Sorry maybe that is a canadian thing! Boxing day is after christmas day. Traditionally its a day to exchange gifts but in reality its about shop sales. Isn’t that in the states too?

I’m not sure why i didn’t get an answer here. Is there likely to be a boxing day or new years day sale where they offer extra obc? Thank you for your response!

Just a comment i know someone who experienced a 3 day typhoon going from vancouver to hawaii. So i know some people dislike the poa, but i wouldn’t want to risk having potentially rough sea days.

Thanks everyone for continued conversation. I would like to see all 4 islands. Plus i wouldn’t feel comfortable renting a car and i don’t think transit is feasable except in oahu where I’ve already been. I will check out oct-dec prices as suggested. American thanksgiving would work well for me as i’m canadian,

Thanks its good to know the distinction. Particularly as i'm canadian and obc is paid in us dollars, obc can make a difference.
