  1. Too bad. Thank you. Lesson learned.
  2. I think the moral here is never apply an fcc until last minute!
  3. Do you know if you can switch an fcc from 1 cruise to another? Alternatively am i able to remove an fcc without cancelling a booking? I have a feeling its not doable as the cruise i’m interested in departs oct 15.
  4. Are you leaving from Vancouver? For second day you’ll be in inside passage which is quite scenic. Not sure about second sea day.
  5. Thanks. It would be the celebrity eclipse alaskan cruise but this isn’t until next year so time to ask more questions! We would probably eat in main dining room but good to know the buffet is good and specialty lunches sounds fun!
  6. Thank you. Yes i forgot in the case of my sister they had 4 people in the room. My sister characterized the food on royal caribbean as just ok so interested if celebrity is any better..
  7. My friend and i may go on a celebrity cruise and i’m wondering how the 2nd bed works. With royal caribbean it comes out of the ceiling. Is that the case here as i wasn’t keen on that. Also is the food good?
  8. But not the price! I didn’t realize The taku lodge excursion would cost around 550 canadian. I may choose the other as its cheaper but still sounds like people have enjoyed it. It is my 50th next year so who knows maybe that will be my splurge. Sorry just thinking aloud here. My 245 roundtrip to saltspring seems cheap in comparison.
  9. I’m looking at scheduling my chops lunch on day 2 or day 7 of the cruise but i’m a little concerned about day 7 being rough because i thought it was in open ocean. Was it rough or is it more likely to be rough on day 7?
  10. Thanks, i was reading some blogs and someone recommended the coconut parsnip soup. The grilled eggplant with soy yogurt and butternut squash curry sounds good. May need a meat appetizer lol.
  11. I see there is a vegan menu introduced a few years ago. Has anyone tried it and is anything good? I’m not a vegan but willing to try new things.
  12. I enjoyed reading this thread. I had seen topic before and had to search for it. Can someone tell me what night the garlic shrimp are on? Also can anyone recommend any vegetarian dishes?
  13. Can you have more than one appetizer? Both the wedge salad and shrimp cocktail sound good.
  14. Thanks. I’m thinking on a sea day it may be nice to have a leisurely lunch. Hopefully the chops on brilliance is nice.
  15. Yes great pictures! I’m feeling excited about this excursion.
  16. I’m debating between getting the chops+1 dining package or chops lunch+1 other restaurant. Both are on sale. I know the lunch is highly regarded but i’m used to having a light lunch. I guess i could have a later lunch. Are the different cuts of steaks worth it to get the dinner? Am i able to get the steak and shrimp too? I also thought someone said the Giovanni steak is better than chops. Is there anything else better about chops dinner vs. lunch?
  17. I think 100.00 extra is pretty common. This was for a 9 night.
  18. I just did a mock booking on a cruise i was interested in and the refundable cost 100.00 more so it doesn’t seem to be true you don’t get the 30% off.
  19. Does royal caribbean say anywhere that 100% of this money is going to staff? Sorry i can’t recall if this was asked before. I’m just hoping there is not an expectation for tipping additional amounts at specialty restaurants when you tip online. (Off topic but related)
  20. Often its all the little fees/costs that add up.Look at what is happening right now with inflation. I’m canadian.. I’ll sure notice with the addition of the exchange rate too but i’m prepaying mine!
  21. Thanks! I’m canadian so it does add up. So with a 12 passenger plane not everyone gets a window seat?
  22. Thanks. I hadn’t heard of the misty fjord plane tour. I’m a little concerned about flying in such a small plane. I have been to salt spring island and i really enjoyed the scenery but i think the plane was an otter and a little bigger.
