Its actually pretty funny brilliance was switched to vancouver alaskan sailing as i don’t think a lot of us here would have known the difference. Its only from reading cruise critic that i read about radiance class ships and have wanted to sail on them.

Thanks! For those interested in an alaskan cruise, the brilliance sailing seems more competitively priced compared to other cruise lines too. I also got switched to a midship from forward room so i’m very happy.

I would definitely phone in to pick your room. If i had got the same room i would have been under the theatre on the different ship. They seem quite flexible as i am on a different floor.

I just received this notice due to my enchantment alaskan cancellation. Not sure if this help:The International Maritime Organization recently shared new speed regulations we must adhere to and as a result, we’ve repositioned some of our ships for our upcoming 2023/2024 season. Our original plan for Enchantment of the Seas was to offer sailings departing from Vancouver, British Columbia on April 3rd, 2023 and Sydney, Australia on October 23rd, 2023. Instead, Enchantment of the Seas will now continue offering sailings from Baltimore, Maryland through April 20th, 2023 and begin a European season with departures from Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy, Athens (Piraeus), Greece, and Venice (Ravenna), Italy starting May 15th, 2023, before making its way to Tampa, Florida in November 2023.

Sorry for the panic. I phoned and they were able to switch me to brilliance for same price. I’m happy as i was disappointed serenade wasn’t running alaska again and i understand brilliance is a radiance ship too. Is it a nice ship?

Sorry i just looked and no replacement ship yet so that would be great if brilliance. Are there solo rooms?

It looks like quantum of the seas is whats on the website and it seems more expensive. Maybe they’ll add brilliance?

Looks like enchantment is no longer going to alaska from vancouver next year. I’m mad as i got a really good deal. They haven’t even notified me i just saw it disappeared when i searched on royal caribbean and its no longer on cruise planner. I assume i’ll get a refund for my refundable deposit but no word. On an unrelated note can you apply an fcc to a cruise that is past final payment?

Thanks for this thread. I was thinking of going on nov 2 pacific coastal cruise but now not sure. I’d hate to miss a port.

It seems there is still no single supplement on some oct22 and nov22 caribbean celebrity cruises.

I think its natural to feel frustrated and upset in this type of situation. Not sure why so many’s peoples attitude is they shouldn’t feel this way. If i wasn’t able to go to glacier bay on the cruise i was on i would have been upset. People who have been on multiple cruises forget what its like to be on your first cruise.

Did i miss something? Do we know for sure the person was drunk. I fell off a curb recently and i wasn’t drunk so i just wondered.

Just to add as my parents are older i am glad the cruise company gives good care but not sure a cruise is the right place for older people with health conditions. My dad got pneumonia on a viking ship and he said they helped a lot.

I just want to say i completely understand the ops frustrations. Heck, i even get frustrated when my trip on the skytrain (vancouver’s form of a subway) gets delayed by a medical emergency. My sense of it is there are many people travelling who shouldn’t because they have some sort of underlying health condition. That is particularly marked on cruises where you may have older people cruising with multiple health ailments. I’ll probably get slammed for my comments, but there it is. Thanks for the detailed explanation about why the other types of rescues through small boat or helicopter aren’t possible. Maybe why you should reconsider a cruise with a lot of sea days if you have health problems or just reconsider cruising altogether.

Just an added comment that i never received my fcc so i phoned and was escalated to guest relations. You can try and get your concern escalated.

I’m canadian and i received 65.00 as a refund (i didn’t understand why i received it so that explains it)and 200.00 as fcc. So thats the correct amount in canadian for a cruise with confidence fcc (265.00). I never had insurance so can’t speak to that. What was the date of your fcc? Mine was the date of issuance and i thought it was supposed to be the date of the cruise. The whole process isn’t transparent.

I think i'd just skip the drink. Couldn't you get a drink later and just take it somewhere else to drink like by the pool?

Thanks, i was looking at the rcl vaccine requirements page and it looks to me like the little bc vaccine card you get is acceptable. I would still like to sort out the federal vaccine record for them though.

I’m wondering if you need your federal vaccine proof for the cruise or you can use the little vaccine card you get? My dads phone doesn’t work and he doesn’t have access to gateway. Is there any other way to access the federal vaccine card if you are from bc? Or could i set it up on my mom’s phone? They are going on a cruise soon and i don’t know if they’ll get a new phone in time. Or maybe if he phoned gateway? I’m not sure how to help.

I’m wondering how rough it is in stephens passage? In the past i haven’t enjoyed whale watching because its been rough. Also wondering if salmon bake is worth it, it doesn’t seem that much more expensive.
