Blackduck59 started this thread about his experiences on his upcoming cruise. Many people comment on their pre & post cruise experiences when they do this type of thread. It helps others who will be doing this same itinerary.
Your questions about finding info about your booking would best be answered in its own thread as it has nothing to do with the OP's experiences on his trip.
I enjoy your posts so much BUT I really wish you wouldn't futz with the TVs. Others with less knowledge will think they can try it too and before you know the TV is broke and the next person in that cabin is out of luck. JMO of course!
We were in an aft balcony cabin on deck 7 on the NA and did not notice any more vibrations than any other cabins.
We did have one rough night where the hangers were banging around in the closet. I just hung the robe over the hangers and tied the robe.
There is not a separate dinning room for CO on Eurodam.
If you book the lowest category inside with a guaranty and purchase CO, you then can select any available inside cabin you would like. It is not assigned to you, you get to choose it. For us that is what makes CO worthwhile!
I would say in general it is pretty laid back. However, at least on the Nieuw Statendam, there was a movie played by the lido pool in the afternoon that was very loud. I didn't enjoy that! There is music played in the background during other times but at a much lower level.
Does anyone else remember reading that there is a switch (button?) to turn off all but emergency announcements in the cabin? I thought I read that somewhere but I don't know if was HAL or another cruise line.
I did mention it on my post cruise survey.
Agreed! The only thing I had that is orange was a flannel shirt I had brought along for the chilly Norway weather. Definitely not dressy night attire! I didn't wear it to dinner, just threw it on over the black turtleneck I wore to dinner.
Unfortunately, on the Nieuw Statendam in May, the cruise director made announcements 3 times a day and they were broadcast in the cabins. She basically gave the highlights of what was in the Daily and available on the app. Very annoying! I certainly don't mind the captain's noon address or announcements letting us know that we are free to go ashore but telling us what we can read for ourselves is not necessary.
On our recent NS cruise we were limited to having 2 bottles at a time, from our wine package, delivered to our cabin. Of course, as the cruise went on our original picks became unavailable which was disappointing. Their substitutions were fine but I would have preferred to drink what I had ordered.
I understand verifying annually for most of these categories but it seems kind of silly for military veterans.
It's not as if you won't be a veteran next year.
One problem I've seen lately is that some sites will not accept auto fill credit card entries. It may not be your issue but I thought I would mention it.
In May on the NS we went from a veranda to a Neptune via an upsell in one step. The offer we received listed the prices for Signature, Vista and Neptune upsells.
