  1. I'm always fascinated by industrial ports. I love watching the ships being unload, all the activity is interesting to me. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a beautiful sail in with natural beauty but where some people dread the "ugly" industrial ports, I always look forward to them.
  2. There is a "Throw Back" happy hour listed under Drinks from 4- 5. It doesn't say what the offer is though.
  3. It could be that the ship is changing regions and there are different menus that will be loaded shortly? Just a guess
  4. Agreed. If I'm comfortable with what I pay for what I get, I'm not going to fuss about what others pay. If I feel it's so unfair that I'm paying more than others than I wouldn't pay that price.
  5. I've been reading about that on another WC blog that I've been following. This couple follow the rules and every time they get to the bus most of the seats are already full! It amazes me that grow ups will act that way😣
  6. We don't eat dinner with people we haven't met previously. Even if it means waiting for a table. We don't go to any of the large singing/dancing shows. No spa services. No door decorations. There is a number that tells us which cabin is ours. We never play trivia but will listen if we're in the area. We don't fuss about how things "used to be". We enjoy what is.
  7. I will probably cruise more then than I do now. As we get older, I think it will be easier than independent land travel.
  8. True, but what you and others are pointing out is the length of the meal is too much for young children. That's what I was addressing not the cost involved.
  9. By that reasoning children should not eat dinner in the MDR either. That can be an even longer experience.
  10. This happens with some land based hotels also. It is a hold not a charge.
  11. A good place to start is the HAL website. Even if you're not interested in ship excursions, it will give you an idea of what might be of interest to you in each port.
  12. Thanks for the information! One of nice things about not having tried it before is that we won't miss what's been taken off on the new menu. From what I'm seeing we will like either menu, so we'll see what we get in May.
  13. In the past, we have picked our wines and had them all delivered to our cabin at one time.
  14. Thank you, I'm looking forward to it. We have not tried Canaletto yet but the menus, old and new, look like something we would enjoy.
  15. We were able to do this, but we were told you can only move it once.
  16. How is this different from many US cities including NYC?
  17. Depending on when you go you, you will go through the fjords in daylight. When we're there in late May the sun won't set until 23:00 and rises at 04:00. June will have even longer daylight hours.
  18. We were able to book CO before final payment but we did have to pay for CO at the time we booked it.
  19. Are any of these treats available when cruising thru the fjords in Norway?
  20. You can get drinks from the bars and bring them back to the room. Not a great system but workable.
  21. The tourist areas are fine especially during the day. We use to drive all over Mexico, I would not do that anymore. We don't travel to Mexico much these days but only because we've spent so much time there in the past. I'd rather explore new places now.
