  1. I don't think so. Viking makes the mistake of presuming their customers are possessed of common sense.
  2. What good does "a bit of mix to the food" and "some special themed dining nights" do if the food is disappointing?
  3. Cost of doing business factors in. Do they carry business interruption insurance?
  4. You are getting very good advice in regard to researching doing things indepently. I can also recommend the Kenai Fjords Tour.
  5. Often done in tandem. A little bit of each.
  6. Decrease quantity/quality and/or increase price. It's how things are done. Remember when a can of tomatoes contained 32oz.?
  7. You can review your onboard account at any time on your TV. Doing so daily you would, presumably, be able to ID any bogus charges and address immediately instead of trying to remember everything at the end of a cruise. The only thing we ever noticed was drinks in the LR not being charged for whatever reason.
  8. Bourbon is whisky/whiskey. Lager is (really good) beer.
  9. I'm an American of Scots (MacIver) descent. But ----- when it comes to drinking beer I'd make a damn fine German😊.
  10. I imagine there is a tendency to "beat the spread" so to speak.
  11. Something new every day. On our last cruise the steward left a 1L bottle of Gordon's on the counter saying they had "run out" of the little bottles for the fridge.
  12. Or 14/7 drinks per week is a standard.
  13. I don't believe hard liquor is available by the bottle.
  14. Having the SSP does not require one to drink to excess.
  15. "only 4 drinks a day" = alcoholic.
  16. They don't have included wine/beer as a starting point so that must be factored in.
  17. Ah yes. Did you do any "tucking" while there?
  18. You can buy the package mid cruise but at full freight so not a good idea. If you want it get it as soon as you embark. Any bartender will be happy to get you signed up. American $$$ is the standard currency aboard,
  19. Skagway has a high end jewelry store every three or four doors - all owned by the cruise lines. Very high pressure - they will all but drag you in by your hair.
  20. I wonder what Viking charges if they go missing.
  21. Had them at breakfast enough times that I should have gotten a tasty one by now - but no! Maybe you are lucky (or I am unlucky) or have a different definition of delicious. I have yet to get a good rib eye at Manfredi's as well despite the glowing reports.
  22. Looking good and being good are two different things. I have yet to consume a "lam" chop aboard a Viking ship that was not incredibly devoid of flavor.
